Perhaps when your mom starts managing the shop she can offer some make and take classes there for groups to make their own tinctures, soaps or whatever you guys dream up. I think people would enjoy that , especially those who aren't quite brave enough for the chicken lessons lol.
Great idea to bring people to the store! Even if she helps setup, take reservations, and then Jen teaches! I can see that patio filled with people learning to make soaps or such.

There is one other job that both of these lovely ladies will do and there's no price tag for that....make memories for your babies that they will carry with them a life time. How wonderful for you and your family to now live on the homestead together! You mentioned in the video the bed and breakfast is now closed and the income lost. I have a suggestion for income. Many of us retired folk have RVs, campers, fifth wheels. They can be up to 40 ft long. We belong to Harvest Host and can stay at farms, winery’s, restaurant parking, etc. You could become a Harvest Host where we pay a yearly fee and you are on the list. You could just advertise to followers like us that you are open for one or two night stays for RVs and set your nightly price. You don’t need to supply anything other than a place to securely park a camper and truck and a good tour. It is expected that those of us who come to a hosts place buy from their store or farm stand, wine, beer, and more. For the two nights we have our own batteries for electric, holding tank for septic, and water tank. It’s usual that RV people are good people. My hubby and I would love to come with our fifth wheel for a couple nights. We also have our own kitchen to cook or you could offer meals like you do for the bed and breakfast. Just something to consider. The only problem for me is here in NH we are expecting a diesel shortage. I can food and we have an organic garden and would enjoy seeing yours. Let us know if it’s something that would work for you. Oh….we don’t park under low tree branches as the camper top can rip. RVs also prefer a pull through place to park. They are hard to back up and need solid ground of course! Just putting that bug in your ear…..😊

If you want to add AirBnB again at some point to continue meeting cool people you can always build a tiny house to rent out or something similar. I think it’s lovely that you’ve got family around again. Just hearing you say compound again is really nice. That word carries a lot of love and meaning for you. You can hear it. If you still need an income from something like an AirBnB, you could always set up a couple of RV pads and bring a couple of them in. Your guests could stay in there comfortably and it's pretty affordable! We have 2 on our property and it works out great! It's wonderful to have family with you. I am so happy for your family!

Lol...yeah we live in Southwest Kansas...drylands...lol Yes...we never experienced winds anywhere like here...so much we hate it. We have sold our house and are moving to South Carolina in June....we tried for Kentucky but just couldn't find what we needed. Look forward to being back East.

its funny that y'all got ground cherries growing wild. i live in Florida and I got them growing wild in several locations including some if my pots. I'm thinking maybe the seed was in the soil or compost i purchased. farm is looking wonderful. God bless y'all ❣️💕❣️

I fretted over her plan to move so far away…and I preyed she would be happy, now she is. I’m so very sad I’ll never get to be your guest. I told my husband the day you announced it I wanted, no… needed to go stay at the The Cottage & it just didn’t work out, (He’s more of a motel 6 kinda guy🙈). BUT, I’m just down the road away & I think it would be a perfect day trip with my property mate, my youngest daughter/family. She aspires to be a homesteader and would LOVE to see our dream in action.
