This is something we've thought about a lot, it's really important to us that he's able to be outdoors as much as possible. The chance to look after some land and grow our own would be amazing
The barn is beautiful and the views are incredible. I can see you guys buying that barn and converting it into your new home. It would be a lot of work. I couldn’t live without onions and garlic I use them almost every single day.
That would be awesome! Unfortunately we don't have deep enough pockets to buy it but renting is an option. It would be lovely to have somewhere to go to 'work' that isn't just our tiny home :) x
Go for it dreams don’t very often come true love the hair cut but the duffle coat is amazing love to you all from your oldies keep well safe and warm 🤗🤗🤗🤗
This would be fun! Although the plan would be to use it entirely for agriculture, we'd be renting so wouldn't be able to do any other conversions :) but, for everything else, it would be amazing!
@@thistinylife Renting is fine, and if you have access to it, what a fantastic shed that barn would be! I'm excited for you, you get all the fun of changing scenery on a boat and also some land which will save you heaps on greengrocer bills in the long run. You could have an endless supply of kindling and/or wood too. I have an elderly aunt & her husband who've lived on a narrowboat for YEARS and they rent a piece of land right next to it where they grow their food and flowers. Made all the difference to their lifestyle. They must be well into their eighties now!
Thank you!! We are nothing compared to how beautiful your channel is! Absolutely love your videos, they're gorgeous. We cruised the GU a few years back so it's lovely spotting all the areas we were on your videos :) xx
That barn was made for you! Sometimes the universe moves forward our timelines to test of its really what we want. If saying yes won’t cause you financial hardship then maybe it’s worth testing yourself and saying yes. After all, you’ll have the long, dark days of winter to prepare and plan for it all.
That would be a nice idea! However, we can't live in the barn. Fortunately, it is local enough we can reach it easily. So the boat will very much be home and the barn our place of work :)
I had my old student days duffle coat for years until the hood literally rotted off .I’ve had my own 2 acre small holding, plus 14 acres of grass and my own gardening business and now when I look back l wonder where l got the energy 😂l don’t regret it and the parties were phenomenal 👍
Beautiful place BUT.... Rent NO Buy YES. Many youtubers buy and renovate places like this with the youtube proceeds that are generated from posting all the renovations. You CAN do this... 👍
I’m not gonna tell you guys how to spend your money… However, I have been watching the show for a while and I know the way you guys live and want to live. I also have been watching a show. Not sure how long it’s been on because I’m in Oregon USA and it’s a British show on Roku. Unique B&B and you probably seen the show possibly I don’t know but it doesn’t look like you guys maybe have a TV. Where this crew goes to people’s property and helps them turn their little place into something unique. It looks absolutely perfect for you guys, and places aren’t lasting very long so sometimes we just gotta jump on… as a believing woman, I first say pray about it.
I'm so pleased! I'm thinking it might work better to roast off the squash and add later. We don't have an over though, only a hob. It also really needs a bit of colour - one of those recipes that tastes better than it looks! Thank you for trying it xxx
I like it! The allotment system is unfamiliar to us, as is the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. I was wondering why there was no mention of poultry or dairy goats! Now I know. Marie is excited to get fencing up for both. Oh, we've ordered our hops plants. Great as always, love the mop crop & the coat Cheers
We'd keep our boat, she'd be home whilst the barn would be our workplace. We've been trying to find somewhere to separate things out a little as it gets quite cosy at home
Another lovely video! Great to see how Jo is growing - I think you’ll have to tie him up when he starts toddling about! Btw Did Jack do most of the cooking before boat life? Love yoo’s! xxx
What is the plan with the barn? Rent it to travel to and use it as an allotment, or rent it to live in? If the latter then I would not do that with a rented place, you could spend all the time, effort and money converting it, just to be served an eviction notice as soon as it is done.
We would rent and use it as agricultural land. I want to expand my beekeeping and we would like to run workshops. The barn would act more as a studio space for filming. The boat is home. We need somewhere to separate the two out because working and living in a tiny space is starting to become tricky with Joe... Especially now it's getting dark by around 4pm
You only live once. Go for it I say. Good luck if you do. Will you sell the boat? Is their a canal you can park the boat close to that property? Or will you travel? Enjoyed the video. Have a good week guys.
Would you sell your boat to live there? You could convert the barn, or get a static caravan. Like the haircut looks so much better and I love a duffle coat, reminds me of Paddington 😅 it's good to dream but life is short and I don't think you should put off your dreams or plans.😊
The boat will be home, this would be work. We're looking for somewhere to be able to separate the two as living and working in a tiny space with a baby is starting to become quite tricky haha
It's very nice, but I'd be most afraid of the landlord and the fact that it's a rental. What if, after investing all your time and money in settling in and making changes, at the end of the lease, the landlord raises the rent to an amount you can't afford? Or what if they decide not to renew and you are booted out? I'd be very concerned over the details in that lease.
But, what if they don't. I'm not sure you can live your life constantly in fear. If it all goes wrong, then it's another story to tell... As it would be if things go right. Nothing is ever going to be forever and ideally we'd like somewhere for the next couple of years before we need to truly settle down for Joe's schooling etc. We'll see :)
We don't have a tap in the kitchen - we will one day but I still have some piping to run. The sink is an old jam pan. It's not plumbed in, we wanted to maximise the space in the cupboards rather than having pipes in the way. It also means we can warm water for washing up easily on the wood burner
Not really... It's slightly complex but essentially the government have made farmland count as part of inheritance tax as would any other family business or estate.
Ah Lynda... I'd normally not bite at this but let's go for it shall we... Putting together these videos takes a long time. Filming a simple 30 minute task will easily turn that job into being 4 hours long. We then have to edit that footage and put it together to try and tell an interesting story. All that filming will then equal about 3 minutes of a vlog. We like to make sure there is plenty within each episode, so will also film a few more parts of our day. In total these episodes equal about 2 days of filming and 2 days of editing. I also work in my freelance job, write our blog, develop our recipes, keep our other social media channels running, look after my bees, have a healthy vegetable garden, care for Joe when Gabby needs a break, keep our home a float because being off grid means no running water or heating on tap and try and maintain a healthy relationship with my partner and our friends. You can happily call me a procrastinator... But, this procrastinator also gives you 20 minutes of free content every week and all you need to do is click a thumbnail to enjoy it. Thanks for watching :) x
@thistinylife Sorry again I know there is alot in filming and editing in a small time frame we view, but there are some things that seem to be half done like the shelf you showed.
Go for it. The barn with small plot is perfect. 💚
Omg that barn is idyllic. You've just got to have a leap of faith and go for it!!
Eek! We shall see x
Fantastic !! Life is short, make the most of it and go for it !! It’s exciting to have projects !!
Haha thank you! We agree, may as well give these things a try
What a beautiful piece of paradise and a lovely place for your little boy and tilly to run around in total freedom. Awsome ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Gorgeous barn and land guys 😍... go for it 🙏👍🥰🤗😘
Totally agree home grown food tastes better then anything we can buy
Nice haircut and absolutely love the duffle coat...hood up or down👌
Thank you!!
Jack your hair cut looks really good. Yes I do think it is a good time to rent the barn. Go for it!❤
Do it do it.
Beautiful spot and a decent plot to grow everything you want and a georgous view
It would be fun, wouldn't it :)
I'd say go for it just from following your channel and the feeling I get from both of you and your little family. New beginnings!!!!
Thank you x
Go for it dreams don’t very often come true love the hair cut but the duffle coat is amazing love to you all from your oldies keep well safe and warm 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Yes, make it into a tiny house without much dosh, and think of all the amazing fruit and veg you can grow - way to go!

Thank you! It would be fun, it's exactly the sort of place we've been searching for... Just need to make it make sense... if that makes sense haha!
What a find! Think of all the new adventures you could have with the barn. If it were in my area, i would do it . Good luck whatever you decide x
Go for it, if it’s your dream and you can afford to do it! If it doesn’t work out at least you’ve tried!
Go for it guys!!!!
Your baby is so adorable and Tilly also💖
Thank you xxx
Those opening shots are gorgeous! The barn has so much potential, really excited to see what you’ll do with it if you decide to take it on! 😍

Love your duffel coat with toggles.I had one when I was a child
Thank you! I love it, been wearing it non stop!

Very exciting piece of land 🥰🫶👏👏👏 fantastic squashe s🎃🎃🎃🎃
I say go for it. You can always have the boat dry docked in the grounds and use it as an Air BnB 😂💜
That would be a nice idea! However, we can't live in the barn. Fortunately, it is local enough we can reach it easily. So the boat will very much be home and the barn our place of work :)

You CAN do this... 👍
We'd need severely deep pockets to be able to buy somewhere like this in the UK, which unfortunately we don't have.
Wow. That would be an amazing new chapter
It would be quite something, wouldn't it? Thank you for watching xx
I hope your dreams come true for you both. The barn looks idyllic. Good luck whatever you decide.
Go for it

I love the barn and those views!!
Gotta start somewhere...it's a practice farm 😊
Exactly! It would be a great experience!
I made the sausage & lentil recipe tonight for dinner, it was so good! I used home grown pumpkin, onion, and garlic from my allotment ☺️
I'm so pleased! I'm thinking it might work better to roast off the squash and add later. We don't have an over though, only a hob. It also really needs a bit of colour - one of those recipes that tastes better than it looks! Thank you for trying it xxx

Yes! Rent the barn, it is perfect!
You only live once, right?! xx
@@thistinylife Once in your lifetime opportunity! Go go go!
I'd say go for it....looks great. Would you still keep your boat?
We'd keep our boat, she'd be home whilst the barn would be our workplace. We've been trying to find somewhere to separate things out a little as it gets quite cosy at home
Your both young, used to a minimalist/off grid/self-sufficient lifestyle, I'd do it! If you could rent to own or buy it, that'd be best. I'd do it!
Another lovely video! Great to see how Jo is growing - I think you’ll have to tie him up when he starts toddling about! Btw Did Jack do most of the cooking before boat life? Love yoo’s! xxx
Love coat
buy the barn guys
This would only be for rental, we'll have to win the lottery to be able to afford anything like this in the UK
What is the plan with the barn? Rent it to travel to and use it as an allotment, or rent it to live in? If the latter then I would not do that with a rented place, you could spend all the time, effort and money converting it, just to be served an eviction notice as soon as it is done.

Is there a water scorce at the barn?
There is
It's a Paddington bear jacket
You're right!
❤
I know this barn 😅
😊
You are going to rent a byre? It looks like such a cute byre. The perfect Scots word for a grey, wet day/weather is dreich.
what about the plumbing and electricity...will the owner let you change its usage?
It's very nice, but I'd be most afraid of the landlord and the fact that it's a rental. didn't the UK just pass some tax laws that target small family farms
