      Decidueye is awful as well. He is built like a Gen 3 Pokémon. Slow, fragile, mixed attackers. And unlike those Gen 3 Pokémon like Crawdaunt and Shiftry who got some ultra good buffs in later gens, decidueye never had anything.

    • @BreakTheIce222
      @BreakTheIce222 11 месяцев назад +10

      @@gg41451 Decidueye is better because it has 2 immunities, so it can pivot into such moves easily and force switches or setup. This is better because they have the same weaknesses, same number of resists, but Meganium has no immunities. Decidueye is also better for the games it was in because it could trap wild pokes with its signature moving, making catching escape-prone pokes possible. It also has useful moves in U-Turn, Sucker Punch, & Roost (which isn't affected by weather).

    I need Sceptile to get a huge buff NOW, and I don’t mean just by having the tera gimmick, but things to help it without even needing that. Sceptile needs its stats reworked, a better movepool, better ability, and if it were up to me, I’d even give it the dragon typing so it can learn draco meteor 😭

    • @mardshima2070
      @mardshima2070 11 месяцев назад +11

      Sceptile needs to have its Atk and S.Atk got swapped, and then have its hidden ability changed into Sharpness or Technician. Sceptile's S.Atk works on gen3 because all Grass, Dragon, and Dark moves are special. But as physical-special split happened now it has mismatched stats and movepool. It also makes Sceptile practically loses its signature move, Leaf Blade.

    • @TundraRage

    As much as i like meganiums design, it is not better than decidueye or sceptile. Chestnaught is the worse for me, followed by meganium. Both for the same reason that you'll usually get ko'ed before you can do anything with them. I don't consider the rest of the starters bad, but I would consider sceptile to be one of the best ones just because of his speed. There've been many times in battle spot battles where i needed a grass type to land a move on something, but couldn't because they're all so slow. But sceptile is actually fast, and he has a good movepool. He's mega could go for a different ability, but it's cool in doubles if you pair him with a mon that has discharge.

    So this comment is about grass starters and ill talk about how good or bad all grass starters are in competitive
    Venusaur- pretty good
    Meganium-Trash
    Sceptile - Bad
    Torterra-it became good with shell smash
    Serperior- Very strong with contrary leaf storm
    Chestnaught- pretty mediocre
    Decidueye- Alright
    Rilaboom- Super strong
    Decidueye H - Alright
    Meowscarada- Very good

    I'm sorry, but there's NO WAY Meganium is better than Sceptile and the Decidueyes. If this were Radical Red or Inclement Emerald, then I can see an argument there. As is, though, Sceptile and both Decidueyes still have more to offer than Meganium does.
    Oh, and I also feel Meowscarada is better than Rillaboom. Sure, it's got priority with Grassy Glide on terrain, but take that away, and Rillaboom is kind of mid. Meowscarada has Protean and the ability to be flexible with what set you wanna run on it. Put it simply, Meowscarada can run many sets while Rillaboom can only really run one, making it incredibly precictable.

    • @spyroclone152
      @spyroclone152 11 месяцев назад

      While I'd love to agree with you about Meowscarada being the best, the fact that the monke does have those two broken gimmicks will always make it remain relevant. It's the no brain, no skill, green button that can kill things. Having any form of powerful, no consequence priority will always have a place in singles and doubles. Not to mention terrain wars being the most potent battlefield tactic in modern pokémon competitive play. And while Rillaboom is predictable, you can't really do anything about it if it catches you with your pants down. It's like how it's predictable that a asteroid is about to hit you, but you can't really do much when your destruction is all but assured. Much like contrary superior, while the base pokémon is incredibly lackluster, that one broken crutch of a gimmick can sky rocket any pokémon to ridiculous status. It happened to Greninja with Battle Bond, it happened to Serperior, and its the unfortunate case here with Rillaboom. Meowscarada will always be number 1 in my heart, but unless they nerf the surge abilities and just delete grassy glide altogether, the gorilla will button mash to victory for the rest of our days unfortunately.
