  • The first supermoto electric bike! Brilliant fun, easy to use, more range than you think and you can take it flattracking... watch the video to see why it belongs in your garage! Check out the full range here: artisanscooters.com/ and let them know I sent you!
    Correction, at 1:04, the 5kW ES1-Pro is actually 6.7bhp, not "around 15!''

I have had an ES1 for about 1 year - 5000K so far - and I also have a CBR1000rr for real thrills - they are different machines but both are a lot of fun. Some how riding the low powered ES1 has improved my riding on the CBR.

I caught this video out of my desire to get an electric trackbike for use at go kart tracks. I found your video and was surprised by all the “new” things this exposed me to. I have been a motorcyclist for over 30 years, so I don’t get “new” things to ponder a lot. Thank you!
New thing#1. I am a track rider familiar with 2 styles of riding, knee down and foot out (supermoto style). Here you are demonstrating another (one I knew of but don’t ever think about): foot down.
New thing #2: dirttrack school. This is something I have long felt I need to learn to be a real motorcyclist. Thanks for the video and making me aware of the school. Love that this is a course with left and right turns. That was new to me since i am only aware of left turning circle tracks. (Gues this is 2 new things.)
New thing #3. This is a question. Foot down technique puts your knee in a vulnerable position for injury. I am thinking about MCL/ACL injuries. I know this is more of a thing for dirt/offroad riders. Do you think knee braces, such as used by dirt riders, are a good consideration for this type of riding (dirt tracker insights welcome)? They are $$$. I am thinking about my foot flexing my knee sideways as it contacts the ground. It is at the very “end” of your leg and has a lot of leverage. Even if the friction force from the ground doesn’t generate a large force. Just wondering if this is a real concern or just an intellectual distraction. Good safety gear allows us to master 2-wheels while allowing for errors with less consequence.
I want to ride and master everything 2-wheels related. Especially riding techniques. Thank you for the inspiration into “new” things.

This looks interesting and very similar in terms of power and range and battery arrangement as the SuperSoco CPX I had on loan for a week and made some videos about. It's great for urban mobility, and commuting, but very limited in terms of country road riding because of the range.
Although I definitely got more than 60 miles out of the CPX ...
Then again I was mostly town riding averaging 15mph! Though I did get to 60 for stretches.

Hi 👋 Lara! Happy to watch you again!
Really nice video. You explained that bike character very well.
I should not talking about electric traction negatively, because I work for a vehicle electric motor builder company, but there are still too many issues and contradictions involved in that “world”. It would take three pages to list them all. Lithium availability, sustainable (or non) electricity availability, decent ranges, and so on.
Anyway, I know it sounds a little bit selfish, but hope “they” let us run around with our roaring “two wheeled friends” (almost quoting Roger Taylor) for a little while longer.
    Have a nice weekend.
Ps: I noticed 🤩 some snowboards in your super duper tidy garage, but I’ m not sure if one of that is a hardboot freecarve alpine one which I’m a big fan of. We don’t have only dream roads and landscapes for motorbikes adventures, but also pleasant ski resort.

Been interested in this bike for sometime with the off-road wheels. Great for green lanes and my commute. Less real world miles than I thought but most 125 dirt bikes never get riden 60miles in one hit. As batteries tech improves I'd assume in future you will be able to buy batteries that fit and give more mileage, prolonging its life at no great cost. Definitely more tempted after your real experience. Thanks for the great content.

It would have been perfect for my commute - 4.5 miles each way, half city, half country A road but Max 40 limit. It would be no replacement for my fun bike - Versys 1000, but as a commuter bike, spot on.

I’ve been waiting for a new Laramoto video and am a big fan of hers, and well, for the first time I’m disappointed, and not because she tested a battery bike. More on that later.
I understand the power of an electric motor for propulsion as I’ve maintained diesel/electric locomotives and ships. I understand the limitations of batteries which is really the crux of the matter. It’s not so much “range” as all bikes have limited range, it’s fuel replenishment. The time it takes to “fill” the batteries up is the issue. I currently live in Iowa in the USA, look it up, and not being able to “fill” batteries up quickly on the go severely limits the use of any battery powered bike.
That said, The Artisan is not sold here so I’ll limit my comments to the concept that this bike is built around. As Laramoto points out it is perfect for commutes and short hops. Even here, for a small town get around bike, it would be perfect. I know of two people who own small on/off road bikes that are used exactly as Laramoto so elegantly illuminates what the Artisan does best. I can’t fault the concept, or from what Laramoto revealed, the Artisan capabilities as it seems to fill its niche well. Almost too well.
Which brings me back to my disappointment. This is the first video where, I feel, it was set up to deliver a sales pitch. Everything seems to be about convincing me I need something that I didn’t even know I wanted. It reminded me of the fair barkers we have here that try and sell you gadgets that, “slice, dice, chop, and even make Julien fries.” The inclusion of a manufacturer’s rep following her puts an exclamation point on the idea that this was a carefully manicured video. The biggest disappointment however was the lack of joy de vie that has always accompanied Laramoto’s previous videos that highlighted her delight in motorcycling. You could tell she was working….
