seems to be the case either clutch spring is weak or servo underpowered could also be clutch material not having enough grip and in that case a stronger servo or spring can only do so much before the clutch is burned through
Definitely, I couldn't imagine having to work a clutch on an rc crawler. Replacing the clutch with a cvt (like robot cantina's harbour freight engine powered Renault) would be great as you would still get the gears without roasting the clutch every few minutes. EDIT: I just watch the last video with the gearbox install. The friction material in the gearbox is definitely not up to task for the weight of the vehicle. Needs a much stronger servo.
For the V twin, hear me out… Harley Now that’s not interesting at first, however… Figuring out a balancing and steering method is an interesting challenge. My initial thought is a flywheel acting as a gyroscope somewhere in either a rider figure or hidden somewhere else on the bike. Could be interesting as it comes with its unique engineering challenges.
RC motorcycles are a thing, have been for about 20 years. Id be surprised if a Harley was much more difficult than an RC sport bike, but yah that was my first thought too. "V twins belong on motorcycles.". Lol. What'd be really epic is putting one of the mini v8s in this beastie, since a I4 is more suited to cars.
I'm so amazed by people like you. It just seems like you think "hm, i could need this" and then just craft it by your own hands and knowledge. ngl, i wish i could do the same.
Agreed. He needs to do something that actually shows off its power(other than reving it a million times), a quick straight line drag or full throttle up a steep hill. Kind of anti-climatic to see all this work go into such a cool build and then all you see is him slowly drive over some clumps of grass and a curb wooooo
and spark plug engines are just SOOOOOOOOOO NICE like they just run you never have to wonder if it's gonna fire up today due to the moisture or whatever it just works!

100% the best sounding multiple cylinder nitro engine I've heard. I've heard the v8 ones and a few others but this sounds nuts. Like a 600cc sport bike

How frickin cool! You cease to amaze me with your builds johnnyQ90! I'd love to see you, Dennis Dempsey and Danny Hyunh do some collaboration together.
Yeah, that is awesome. I’ve been looking and waiting to see an actual scale application of one of those engines. You did a beautiful job. Truly inspiring, love your projects and content!
Awesome work. That pocket CNC is so cool! If you lengthen the top links for the rear axle you would help improve the driveshaft angle. Just like wedges under the leaf spring to get the pinion angled up to be more in line with the driveshaft/transfer case. I did that on my wraith to keep the rear axle from binding after adding some mods. I see no reason why it wouldn't work here. Also maybe a CV shaft instead? Sure it isn't as scale appearing but they usually can handle angles like this a bit better.
Hi 👋 Johnny. I’m watching your videos from the very beginning to the most current. Each and everyone one is amazing to me. Thank you 🙏 for starting this RC engine building adventure for us! We have learned so much about engines and how technology has advanced over the last decade or more. 😊❤
All that’s left now is to install a mini alternator charging circuitry (permanent magnet dc motor, buck/boost converter & charge controller). What a fantastic job!
Beautiful work Johnny. May I suggest that you lower the suspension by using shock forks. It will help lower the center of gravity and prevent roll overs/ suspension roll. Stronger coils/shock oil may be needed. Let me know if I can directly help you in any way! Again, fantastic job I am extremely inspired by you & your creations!!!
This engine should go in a 1:5 Touringcar, like the early 90s DTM BMW M3 or Mercedes Benz 190 Evo. They had naturally aspirated, high revving four cylinder engine like this model engine, would fit perfect!
This in a rally car would sound so authentic.
Definitely, especially with a turbo or centrifugal supercharger
It sounds awseomely brilliant as it is! In a Rally car it would Rock!!
But I just Luuurve that 4x4 Crawler...F💥Bulous!

only that neither of that would work on that engines.

Rubber clutch
Maybe he is controlling in half clutch to not stall
It’s not a clutch it’s really more like a tourque converter which is never truely 100% engaged
