I admire you young man for using hand tools. I've been a pro cabinet- furniture maker for 50 yeas and use 80% hand tools in all of my commissioned projects. My hand tools have helped send 3 daughters to college and kept my wife and me without any debt. I noticed you've not made any new videos in 2 years. I hope all id well with you and you'll return to youtube and inspire more young woodworkers to use hand tools. Thanks for sharing. I really like your bench.
Awesome! And great to see hand tools only. Was getting annoyed with these 'barely any tools needed!' woodwork videos, only to see table saws, planers and thousands of dollars worth of equipment being pulled out!
Nice video! It was great to watch you use hand tools! You invested a lot of effort into it, unlike youtubers who label their videos "Simple and easy cutting board!" while working with $3000 worth of electrical tools. Keep up the wonderful job!
That was kind of amazing. I have nearly no tools to do this work, or even space where to do it, and my wife would kill me if i did it in our apartament, but i will figure something, and i will do one as well :) thanks
Wow that was super inspiring and also an excellent video! I would like to also try to make some cutting boards for the holiday season with hand tools but was wondering what type of hand planer should I buy. Do you have any recommendations and if you have used a low angle hand planer do you think it is worth it for the price difference?
low angle won't help a lot if you are doing long grain cutting boards like this one, I got this plane from a garage sale and fixed it up. Any decent jack plane like this #5 will work great as long as you keep it sharp. good luck!
really not bad at all, the hardest part was rip sawing the board with the cheap pull saw. it takes a bit of time to make sure everything is square but I enjoyed it!
This project reminded me of Woody Hyezmar's Bible somehow…, although you can currently get it at no cost, the projects are worth a good look. Maybe try go’ogling his latest.

Thanks for watching!
That was very cool, all by hand. Truly a lot of work. Nice job.
That was honestly bloody inspiring. Such basic tools but an incredible end result! Thanks for sharing
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks!! just pick something small and go for it, you don't need lots of room
This was absolutely excellent. Going to head to the hardware store now, get a pull saw and try this!
Great craftsmanship!
Well done!!!!
Very inspiring. Keep it up.
Nice work.
Thanks!
Awesome job 👍
Thanks!
Cool video man, keep it up!
Appreciate it! Life and a new job got in the way but I'm getting back into it
Dude. This is/was fantastic. Great work!
Glad you enjoyed it!

How hard was this physically?

Only took like 6 days man you killed it. You could sell one of those for like 700 bucks and make your money on the time you spent.

I really tried to watch this video but the music just got to be unbearable... I may have had a seizure
I'm sorry you feel that way, next time I make a video I'll swap music genres or leave music out. do you have a preference?
@@apogeewoodworking655 no, just epilepsy lol. I really was enjoying the vid though, so I'm going to turn captions on and sound off, no worries 👍
I have to disagree, using music with an actual instrument musical saw for a woodworking video is a great idea! I assume that was on purpose…?
great work, awful background music. why must videos have repulsive background noise?!
Sorry, if I do more videos I'll leave the music out
