- Sandra Wood discusses how she originally thought to ride Ian out at home and her harrowing moments waiting in a pickup truck for the storm to end. Then she discusses with Fox 4's Chris Shaw about how the mobile home community is helping one another cope.
So emotional listening to this lady.
Just because you're in a mobile home, does not mean you're not AS important as anyone else. You ARE!! That broke my heart.
Exactly I'm in tears 😢. My mom lives near fort myers she is incredibly lucky . Safe and unharmed house still intact. my heart is broken for all the victims of Ian..God bless them all ..rest in heaven for those who weren't able to make it out of this nightmare 🥺🙏
Agree a home is a home
Put listen evacuate
I totally agree
People should listen to the warnings…
She said she lost her roof but other people had it worse. She is so humble. She is remarkable.
In the darkest hour the unity in the community is so beautiful.
Mobile home parks are lovely communities, as this one clearly is too. And this woman is resilient and very very lovely too.
Not all mobile home parks are lovely.
They are very nice there. Their community trailers for the retired people to live there. They aren't like the ones that look awful. They have alot of them down south Florida.
@@cherylkoski7184 neither are All neighborhoods, apartments, condos, etc;);)
This is one of the reasons why we all have to be grateful always of what we have and appreciate everything around us because not all people have what we have. Thank God this lady are safe as well as her son and their 2 precious dogs.
The coverage from this station has been excellent. Praying for the ones who have suffered. And the ones who have died.
God help these people avd others may they RIP
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Very compassionate report. God bless, restore, replenish and renew, hope, strength, wellbeing and necessities to these people!
Praise the Lord they lived and found safety. Great to hear everyone helping each other out. Prayers will continue to be answered. 🙏
I'm so emotional listening to her . . . not only scary, but so so sad. This is really like a bomb went off. This storm was so strong and with so much water. I pray for everyone going through these hard times!
Bless her heart. Her testimony is powerful!
to see the salt of the earth survive makes me feel joy
Good afternoon, I am in the Bahamas and we went through hurricane Dorian a cat 5 hurricane. Praying that you all will not get discouraged or loss hope. You can get through this. Things can be replaced not your life. I am praying for Floridians recovery🙏🏾🙌🏾🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸
@CleoHall Sounds like you have walked that same path...your compassion is a beautiful thing.💕
Thank-you so much for your good words. Hope things have gotten better for you as well!
Incredible story, bless her heart. Hope she never has to endure something like that again. Glad she made it.
Amen! Yes!
Everybody is helping each other. That is caring and kindness. So good!
That poor family. I road out the hurricane alone is a sturdy, concrete block house with aluminum panels over my windows and I was scared to death. Can't begin to imagine the fear they felt in that pickup truck.
Ian crushed concrete...i feel you tho
Cat 5 giveth not a f**(
You can hear the pain in her voice. Her heart goes out for her neighbours. Who feels it knows it. It's only God yes. 🙏
Ft Myers you are incredible and we love you. You have each other and that’s all you need. You watch you will come back strong!!!
Such a sad but beautiful story of hope. She speaks the truth. People who don't have much always help one another with the little they have. They stand together and share even when it is their last.
GOD Bless you Mary and I hope someone helps to fix your truck so you're able to make money I know you need.🙏🙏🙏🙏
That’s great that neighbors helping neighbors !! I’d be afraid if I had to rely on my neighbors and I live in Jacksonville!!!! This is refreshing to see in a world full of selfish and lazy people !!!!
That was a smart move that saved them and their truck
God bless you Sandra and all your nieghbors suffering together god watched over you and shielded you with his protection, as well as filled your hearts with his Holy Spirit so that y’all are able to come together and lift each other up through these times! Love and prayers down here in poth Texas!

I feel so bad for these people. Absolutely heartbreaking.

God bless Sandra, her family and everyone affected by this devastating storm.
Glad to hear everyone’s pitching in - it restores your faith in humanity.
Amazing, good good people, hard to imagine being in that exact situation
like she said, what gives her hope is each other in their area helping one another, feel so sad for the people that are all alone
Strong community, stronger people. God bliss them all ! ✝️
God blessed you Maam.
what a lovely woman. i ask that every human drop their judgements (proving you have them) and open your hearts to send these human beings your love. It's in there, share it unconditionally. They need that right now. (and so do YOU)
Carol, is that what you think Donald Trump and his supporters have been doing, for the last 15 years ?
@@BSU55 Yes. Trump has donated much to the relief. How much have you donated? Nothing! Oh, I see.
You can’t eat love.
America one of the few countries that everyone comes together at hard times God bless everyone

stellar coverage 👏
She is the only one who says thank God that she is alive she is blessed and highly favored
To the many who do not get it. These people were told by the news and weather forecasters that the hurracaine was going to go quite far North of them. The storm wobbled bobbled and took that sharp right. These folks do not deserve this hell.
Exactly
Same thing happened in Hurricane Charley 18 years ago, the people here knew this could happen yet they still stayed. Bottomline it that it is your responsiblity, you are the one near the hurricane. It doesn't matter what the forecasters are saying. You are the one that has to make the decision to leave. Hurricane Charley was also forecast to go into Tampa but it made the same right turn this one did.
Amen!

Amen☁️🎺👼💒🙏🌹Thank God.
My heart goes out to the woman having to recount the details of rising water and all they could do is sit there in a truck.
Please look into Kansas Drive in Fort Myers still does not have electricity or water. This little development is surround by homes that have electricity and water. Please outreach some one to help them.

This was a sad report yes …. But with a beautiful people and community that know what life is about. A caring community that actually support and are willing to help each other out. Caring about your neighbor is where a great place to reside starts. God bless.
Makes me proud to be an American!
In disasters, most communities help each other out everywhere, not just FL.
Bless her
Lady.....the Lord sure was looking after you. Then, now and always. Hope you didn't lose a lot. Least you've got each other. Keep on keeping on. I will be praying for you. Love y'all much. See ya.

When they say evacuate, they mean it. So sorry they went through this…
So very heart breaking😞Thank you God for protecting them 🙏
to witness the survival of the salt of the earth is joyful
Wish I had a million bucks...I'd help them all. Bless you sweetheart
God bless you all.
Thank you
I've been listening to some of the insurance companies saying they're not going to pay they're not going to pay for those people's boats homes cars that got destroyed I hope
Paper asshole statement
Evacuation is not an easy decision.
Most damage is where the eye comes ashore.
Lucky you. God bless.
Thank God they are ok
So scary. Thank God they survived 🙏
Why didn’t people leave? It’s an awful scary lesson to learn.
Maybe they don't have a place to go...
People helping people is how Florida will recover.
