there are several ways to incorporate business best practices to earn profit that is sustainable as a main source of income in candle making. I think the number one way is by applying for business funding and using the money for high quality supplies and doing in person markets. also being sold in stores takes you to the next level without shipping out products. game changer for being a full time entrepreneur to push the 6 figure mark in income
Once again, Thank you Erica for your transparency. I appreciate everything you shared in this video. Most of all, I appreciate when you said “don’t quit your day job.” My wife and I started our candle business a year ago and your videos have a real motivator for us to continue to do what we love
Thank you so much!! I appreciate your kind comment :) It’s so true though about not quitting your day job. Starting and growing a business to live off of takes a lot of time and hard work, and Chris and I are very lucky and fortunate to be in the position we’re in to work on growing the business as much as we can! It’s a lot of work, but the fact that so many people watch and comment on my channel helps me us be able to do this and we are so grateful to you all ❤️❤️
Erica I’m so proud of you! 😭. I remember when you first started and you were thinking you were behind in life. Now look at you! Making enough to live off of and you have your creation in the world. ♥️
I love that you mentioned how much in expenses! My first two years brought us to the negative and now that I can afford to be home 24/7 thanks to my husband I am putting in so much more effort to make our third year our first profitable one :)
Thank you Erica! So happy to hear on your progress. I am really suprised with the RUclips income! 33K in one year is amazing. I am going full on growing YT channel too. Thanks again
I cannot thank you enough for your transparency. I have a small business already and looking to get into candles and this was just music to my ears understanding your lifestyle and streams of income as this will be apart business for me at the moment. New subscriber here too. Big hugs!
Im so happy I made a small profit in my first year.I decided today in going to give Faire a go and also have a routine in place as it’ll help me divide my time and energy better x
I really appreciate you and your family. For sharing what you know about the candle business. I'm learning about how to make candles and then I want to learn how to make soaps after. I would like to make it part of my side hustle once I retire. ( I'm 55 now 😊.I've always wanted to do this. And now that I'm older and all the kids are gone doing their things.😊👍 I can, I figured that as I get older I can do this more once I get in my 60s and 70s. I love working and want to do something until the day I die. As long as I can have fun doing it. As an accountant I'm always looking ahead. And what you youngsters can do now is amazing. Appreciate you be well young lady you and your family.☺️
Amaizng job!! I always look forward to this video because it gives me such a raw perspective and gives hope! Congratulations on your successful year!! If my math is mathing, you made 6-figures with your income streams!!! Which is INCREDIBLE!!!
Aw thank you!! I’ve really mellowed out more over the years of making videos 😆 I used to talk sooo fast and almost get anxious before filming, and now it’s like second nature talking to a friend (aka my camera lens) 😅
The ending made me laugh! 🤣🤣🤣 Lol! I've been waiting for this video! It's my favorite video every year! Love seeing the growth and the realistic look at everything! 😃
I found your page recently and really appreciate you putting in the time to help us starting out and giving the whole picture. Thank you and congrats on those awesome earnings!
I became interested in candle making as a business. I did a search on youtube for candle making and your business came up. Obviously the next thing I did was do a search to see what your revenue profits for 2023. This video came up, and it was quite informative. I appreciate you being transparent about your revenue streams and what they were . I've been in the industry in the last 25 years with digital marketing, website store creation ,coding, databases, and online presentation. Fortunately, I have the knowledge for those things. Once the product is created, I am gonna learn a lot about watching your past videos . I am also gonna be looking at your digital product on educational information on having your own candle business . Thank you for all the information. You definitely are a wealth of knowledge!
Thank you for sharing this Erica! I’m so happy for you. You work so hard and share so much with us that you deserve all of that and more! Cheers to an even better 2024!! 🎉
Love this video! It actually helped me a lot to realize to not be so hard on myself. I’m not a candle maker but I do sell on Etsy and love watching your videos.
I know you've asked for content ideas in the past... what about having a video about getting a youtube up and making it successful? As far as monetizing etc
I had an Etsy shop for one year. I spent a lot of time and money making my candles, building my shop and making nice product photos along with advertising. I did not sell one candle. My family and friends did not buy any either.
I'm trying to get my materials and supplies down as they were 50% of my income and was a huge shock running the numbers. I'm clearly broke lol and need to learn how to run a business and i just want to make pretty things 😂
Congrats on all the work you’ve done ! That’s a hell of a lot ! Lol That’s work ethic and entrepreneurship on steroids lol, I just couldn’t. I like to focus on one thing and of course still have my great paying day job where I actually have a lot of time to work on building my business so I feel very fortunate. I feel like 2024s the year!
It is a huge BLESSING lol. I won't ever see a job situation like i have now, where it allows me to spend most of my time learning about setting up my business and building it slowly. @@MemoryBoxCandleCo
@@SuperSj2011 I wouldn’t recommend Next because they don’t cover manufactured candles (found that out the hard way) I personally use Liberty Mutual but I know a lot of makers use Indie!
I didn’t even know what that is lol. Maybe? But probably not. I think the biggest thing was me getting pregnant and not posting nearly as much as I typically do haha
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo as I candlemaker myself, and having to work a full-time job in the corporate world it really puts a lot of pressure on me to know what other people are making in the industry. I know your intentions are good because you’re letting us know we can make that kind of money too but it also kind of makes me feel bad about myself.
@@LisaSaliture definitely not my intention! I’ve been making these income videos for years because a lot of my subscribers are curious to know. There are many candle businesses that make way more than I do, and sometimes I get bummed about it, but I try to not focus on anyone else and just know I have my own unique business journey that I’m on.
You're putting the pressure on yourself. Do what you can with what you have and you'll grow. Even if it's slower than others, moving forward is the goal. Working a full time job and trying to do a candle business is a ton of work! My growth has been much slower than Erica's mostly because I've been a single (divorced) mom raising 3 boys all alone. I'm nowhere near where she is in income and I've been in business for 13 years. We all have to go at our own pace. Good luck!
I appreciate how transparent you are! You’re very inspiring and motivating. 😊
I did $400 thanks God i just started my business and i k ow i have a lot todo. Im learning be patience and perseverance right Erika. Bless

I was thinking of doing canva templates. Did you do faire market?
Yes we did participate in the faire winter sale event!
How would you suggest going about growing as an over the road truck driver with only a few days home each month?
Quick question - out of the expenses did you allow paying you and your husband a salary or some type of income? thx love your channel!
Yes they are a S-Corp.
I just started reading Profit First to help give me a guideline... cuz I don't know how to adequately do this either especially at tax time

Can you talk about whether or not, to get candle business insurance? If its needed, when is the best time to get the candle insurance?
Yes I highly recommend it, ideally you should get it before you start selling :)
@MemoryBoxCandleCo do you have recommendations for companies that i can compare rates against? So far i looked at Next and ACT insurance.
@@SuperSj2011 I wouldn’t recommend Next because they don’t cover manufactured candles (found that out the hard way) I personally use Liberty Mutual but I know a lot of makers use Indie!

Making videos on the internet😂
Erica how are you finding the quick books app for book keeping? Is it easy to figure out?
Paise se paisa banta hain!
Do you think Whatnot affected your RUclips income?
I didn’t even know what that is lol. Maybe? But probably not. I think the biggest thing was me getting pregnant and not posting nearly as much as I typically do haha
