    It cost me about 1.5K from the very beginning till I launched last month. It's not cheap, but extremely rewarding. I'm a teenager, so it's been funded completely by my part-time job.

    I've invested over 1200.00 and nowhere near a launch yet. But I'm enjoying the making of candles (finally) since it was something I'd always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the time. Now I'm disabled and have the time, just need to find a niche! It's the slow time of year for most "extra" purchases, I imagine that includes candles. I'm hoping to finish testing soon after shifting from soy 464 & trying IGI 6006. We'll see how that goes. THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN INFORMATIVE CHANNEL! I LOVE YOUR STYLE! 💙

Do you have any videos where you talk about the process you underwent to learn how to make your candles and by that I mean determining the wax(es) you decided to use, how you learned which wicks to use, how you narrowed down what you offer in your candle line? Thanks

    One thing I would HIGHLY recommend for any business that does a lot of printing and label making is to invest in an Ecotank type printer. Over a very short time this will save you a huge amount of money and frustration! Cartridges are really expensive and are a "gimmick" in that if you are out of only one color, you will still have to buy a full ink replacement. This wastes tons of ink and creates a lot of trash throwing away the used cartridges. What is worse is that on many printers, if you are out of only ONE color ink, your printer won't print anything at all. On some this is true even if it is a colored ink you are out of and only try to print in black. It is no good to need product labels and find out while packing orders that your printer has gone on strike.
    Ecotanks don't use cartridges at all. They have ink tanks inside that you just refill with bottles of whichever ink you need to top off. No ink goes to waste and there is never a wasted cartridge to throw away. I have an Epson Ecotank I bought on sale from Target for around $250. It has for sure paid for it's slightly higher upfont cost many times over. I got nearly a year's worth of labels printed just from the bottles of ink that came with the printer! I did not realize until I had to refill it that I had completely forgotten about ink as a businss cost. I then went and looked back at my records and reaized if I were still using cartridges at the same rate as I had the previous year, I would have spent way more than the costs of both buying and filling the printer just hassling with ink.

      @stickysteph Год назад

      Agreed. I've been making stickers with a $200 Canon Pixma Megatank for over a month now. Great color payoff and I have not had to replace the ink yet. It was a constant battle of always being out of ink with any other printer I've ever owned. It's SLOW though lol.

    I really appreciate the way, effort, and time you put on making this video.
    any suggestion from anyone to narrow my testing option to reduce cost...... what is the best wax to start with jar scented candles... is it Soya, Coconuts, etc.
    I don't want to test everything for my very first item... Scented candles in glass jars up to 7 ounce only
    your suggestion will be super helpful to start testing . also if any additional ingredients needed here to test specifically example the wick quality and easement...thank you!

    Hello Erica, I am thinking about to start and actually i wanted to see if i will enjoy candle making so i ordered a diy kit before ordering testing supplies. I have a question, let’s say i know i wanted to work with soy wax and i got only soy wax supplies.. what do i have to test actually? İs it how to pour, pouring degree, scent or scent ratio? How a particular brand soy wax burns and in how many minutes? Different styles of labels? What i will be actually testing?
    Can we just start with soy wax and fragrances that are recommended and already tested by experts like you and have a short cut and avoid extra costs? Thank you and i really appreciated the video.

      I have been starting my business very slowly with super limited funds. I was getting discouraged by this too. I started planning what I want and then using either Klarna, affirm, or PayPal's pay in 4 (I have used them all depending on supplier I'm buying from) to buy some supplies has worked very well. I can get more stuff at once and then I pay it off over that time that would have taken me to save up for all the stuff, buying one bit outright at a time. I hope that makes sense. Best of luck to you!
