I was sitting on my couch and randomly thought “this sweater would look so much better distressed”… got up, followed your diy… and I was right lol, it does. thanks for the tutorial!
I also recommend giving any diy distressed clothing a machine wash + dryer (optional) It will make it look a little more distressed and give natural “store-bought” distressed outfit look :)
I personally cut the bottom hem then the triangles because I wanted mine cropped, but the beautiful thing about DIY is that you can do it however you like it! 😄
Hey! I’m not sure if this is the best way, but I sewed around the parts I ripped. Leaving a little space of course. I sewed 2 lines in areas that were a little more prone to tearing. I think a zigzag stitch would be good too or something that holds really well. It also depends on your fabric too tho! Not sure if this helped, hopefully it did! 💞

On the bottom fray do you cut off the bottom hem then cut the triangles or do you just cut the triangles into the hem

Will the thread come out when machine or hand washed???
What is thst tool you are using to pick at the cut edges? Eyebrow Tweezers? Doing this project today! Thank you sm!
So the ends will fray. Maybe I should wait until the last minute to cut my sweater then? I'm only wearing it for a day at a con.
WOW!!!! Keep it up girl.
