Uhhh... She demonstrated "the splits" in the last way I would ever expect and then went on to tell a story in which that exact way must be utilized for it to be true. That was a HUGE tell!

To be fair, you don't imagine her doing the split while sitting on the ground. With the belly, I think it's easier to do standing up.
I mean I still wouldn't have believed it just because she could have done it. That's why it was a great story to get the point. I woulda cranked my car into the sidewall and hopped out the window like a racecar driver to help.

But my experience (and that of women around me - at home and in other countries, so it's not necessarily cultural) has been otherwise with strangers. People will gather and watch, but not help. Most might if you ask. But you'd rather do it yourself if you can.
