    My fist bike was a zx7r. No problem whatsoever. Thing is whatever bike you get, go practice slow maneuvering a bunch. Don’t just get on the road and go at it. Make sure you are comfortable and understand that even a 600 is very powerful and not respecting that can get you in a bad situation

      What do you think about a new rider getting a zx6r as their first bike ? Is it possible to learn on one and grow while becoming comfortable with it ?

    I honestly can't thank you enough man. I'm going to pick up my first 600 CC street bike. It's a 04 GSXR. And I'm definitely a first-time writer when it comes to Street bikes. I'm comfortable Rider if we're referring to off-road. But, I'm definitely a complete novice and reasonably nervous. This is exactly what I was trying to find I just needed a quick breakdown of a riding option for slowly becoming comfortable. And being able to see the start mechanics of the bike with the clutch and its take off is super valuable to know before I'm getting on it. Thank you so much. Funny enough I live in PA. Right outside of Nottingham. Thanks again.

    Cool advice man love your GSXR dude.Throttle control, situational awareness, turning and braking are the most important components in my opinion if you don't want to get hurt out there. I was thrown into the fire with an R6 being my first bike. I had some previous experience riding on a ninja 250 r. I gotta say, the lessons I learned on the 250r helped me learn to control the 600. Wear gear always and be safe. Don't be fooled by Displacement. Supersports are the hardest to ride. But they're cool and fun as hell.

    Appreciate the tutorial bro. I am new to the riding scene. Looking forward to the day I get one of those GSXR 600. Riding in the Bay Area is stupid dangerous with these Distracted Drivers on their phones and narrow lanes. Definitely recommend taking the two day riding course. It will help with reduce your insurance cost and excuse you from taking the DMV riding test. I totally agree with more practices. It will keep you safer on the road and less chance of laying down your bike.

    I started on a 600 and practiced in the parking lot of a church across the street from my house for 2 WEEKS, just to become friendly with the throttle response, shifting and braking at my own pace.. After the 2 weeks i felt confident enough to make that right turn out of the church lot onto the actual street into the actual traffic pattern.. I stalled at the first 2 lights, but i rode in my city, NOT THE INTERSTATE for about an hour and i had a good time , got home with no problems… 3 years later ive been riding NO accidents, but i never get on the highway! Lol its just for fun and i only ride city, YOUR mileage may vary, and everyone has their own reasons for wanting to ride a motorcycle! Like this guy said, a 600 gsxr is not a toy, and you will get killed or hurt bad if you dont respect it.. Just dont act like a fucking nut, wear ALL protective gear, ride within your limits and you wont get hurt! liked and subscribed by the way!.. Safe riding folks.. Cheers✌️

      @@1Down5UpOfficial I totally get it I ride bicycles down here in Florida and every day I feel like I'm getting ready to be a cheeseburger on somebody's grill 😬 there's a lot of tech I've noticed too now on bikes. A lot of which I think can be good for new riders but then I also want to keep it simple too. I know there probably is no difference between the 600s as a first bike but I am at the moment leaning between the GSXR or the ZX6R... If you have an opinion let me know, it being my first bike I tend to keep those kind of things!

      I've had a 2008 zx6r and currently a 2008 gsxr 600 both are great bikes IMO. Zx6rs tend to have more of an aggressive seating position than gsxrs, so gsxrs are probably more comfortable for newer riders since they sit a bit lower. At the end of the day they are both japanese bikes, so they are both reliable as long as they weren't beat up by the previous owner. It's more of a person preference at that point. If you buy a gsxr get ready for the gay jokes 💀😭

      When you're going fast and pull the clutch in to change gears, you don't need to let it out slowly. When you're first pulling out, if you dump the clutch and your giving too little throttle it will stall. If you are giving too much you will pop a wheelie

I agree that sure, people can do it on a 600cc sportbike but it really depends on the person. Low speed practice in parking lots daily goes a long way. 15mintes a day in a parking lot will go far.

    I just got my motorcycle temps on Monday! I'm in my late 30's and always wanted to try it. I've been driving a Mazda Miata for the last 7ish years and I had a Toyota MR2 Turbo before that, so I'm used to light weight, rear wheel drive vehicles with manual transmissions. I did panic in my Miata, and stomped the gas, and spun around and broke the wheel and ended up in the grass. I know that I need to not do that on a motorcycle. I rode my dad's old Honda Trail 70 when I was a kid, and that had gears and a clutch and everything, so I know how to do it.
    What all should I get to test drive a bike? Is a helmet and gloves enough? Should I wear long pants?

    • @1Down5UpOfficial
      @1Down5UpOfficial  9 месяцев назад

      Assuming you mean as opposed to when you first pull out, at like a stopsign or a redlight. Yeah, when you are going normal speeds always do it quickly when you shift gears, you don't have to let the clutch out slowly. Just be careful when you release the clutch always make sure you're not still twisting the throttle. That's called a clutch up and how you do a wheelie. So 1.) let off the throttle, 2.) pull in the clutch, 3.)shift, 4.) let the clutch go,5.) then back on the throttle again.
