Oof, I have to disagree with this you guys. As an SDA, I find many falsehoods with this interview excerpt. Can you reach out to SDA pastors to get accurate information? We have lots of churches across the world, Loma Linda in California being a huge hub for SDA’s! Pleeease look into talking to someone from the Loma Linda University church, they are so knowledgeable and I know your audience would glean valuable information!

I believe that providing at least one quote from Ellen White where she is claiming that her writings are on par, equal or higher to the canon of scripture will suffice as evidence of cultish behavior. If this cannot be provided then the assumed motives and conclusions forwarded by these gentlemen and lady are unfounded, suspect and holds no water.
You won’t ever find that! If you do then it is not her writing!

Never wouldve thought that the Perrys would take time to go after a denomination..., a group of ppl trying to share the gospel (like methodists, like baptists, like church of God you name it), a group of people trying to direct people to the bible so that the Holy Spirit can do he's thing, to expand the kingdom of God.
Thats why its so hard for non believers to believe in Chirstianity, because AMONG US, we go after each other... "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” But we rather, talk about each other. We are actually harming the body of Christ. Sad Sad...
As someone who values fair and respectful dialogue, I urge all Seventh-Day Adventists who support the WiththePerrys ministry to consider discontinuing their support for this channel. Please keep them in your prayers. It is evident that they are not committed to a balanced discussion, as they have not invited active, recognized, and respected SDA pastors to participate in the conversation. (I will stand corrected when the Perrys publicly correct this with the name(s) & date(s) of near future planned conversations.) Instead, they continue to produce content that damages and slanders the Seventh-Day Adventist Church by labeling it a cult. This is disappointing and contrasts sharply with their treatment of other faiths on the channel.
Mason's repeated use of outdated rhetoric and false claims, which the SDA Church has addressed with reasonable biblical apologetics over the years, is particularly concerning. This behavior appears to be a strategy to increase social media views and revenue rather than fostering genuine understanding at this point. Seems to me as if they are just reading from exAdventist sources/books and presenting it as truth to confuse those who do not know what SDA's believe (within and out of the faith). A strategy I see here being employed quite a bit is the use of strawman arguments - misrepresenting or twisting subtly what SDA's believe to then refute it. This is a logical fallacy in argument. If they continue to segment their videos like this one or continue to slander the churches name by calling it a "cult" we will know everything we need to about this ministry and it's agenda.
The SDA's act very abruptly to leave when they don't like something they have heard. We should strive to become better Christians in Christ first. That is why I don't attend the SDA church they do everything in the name of Adventist as opposed to Jesus.
@@susanma3483 I appreciate your perspective on striving to be better Christians in Christ first. That is indeed a central goal for all believers. However, it's disheartening when others misrepresent our beliefs, as has been done in the Withtheperrys videos. They have produced five videos calling us a cult without having well-known and respected SDA representatives on the call to clarify our positions. This kind of misrepresentation is hurtful and misleading.
In such situations, leaving is not necessarily an act of abruptness or avoidance, but sometimes a necessary step to avoid further conflict and preserve our peace. Jesus himself provided guidance on how to handle such situations:
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
- Matthew 7:1-2
Additionally, when Jesus sent out His disciples, He advised them to move on if they were not welcomed or listened to:
“If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet."
- Matthew 10:14
Our focus should always be on living out the teachings of Christ and sharing His love with others. We should strive to correct misunderstandings with kindness and truth, but also recognize when it is time to move on. We continue to worship and serve in the name of Jesus, seeking to follow His example in all things.
@@simonl4076 Very respectable comment. I have never met a SDA that hasn't criticized other denominations for worshipping on Sunday. Might have something to do with carribean culture though. Apperciate hearing your stance. Hopefully, your comment sheds light on the topic.
@@susanma3483 As SDAs, we believe that the Sabbath (Saturday) is the true biblical day of worship, based on the Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11). This belief is a central part to our faith, and we hold it deeply because we see it as part of following God's commandments. However, it is never our intention to criticize or judge those who worship on Sunday. We recognize that many sincere Christians worship on Sunday and have a strong relationship with Jesus.
It's important to remember that while we may have different understandings of certain biblical teachings, our ultimate goal is to follow Christ and share His love as is found in Word of God. Jesus emphasized the importance of love and unity among His followers:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”
- John 13:34-35
A few more scripture on why we place importance on the Sabbath day (never above Christ, Lord of the Sabbath of course).

In the realm of social media and online conversations, it's unfortunately become all too easy for people from various backgrounds to speak freely without restraint or accountability, often hiding behind anonymity (keyboard warriors). However, God sees all things, and every person will ultimately stand before Him, as the Scriptures teach. Romans 14:12 "So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." To Him be the Glory.

Agreed, I’m not SDA but I feel they should speak to an Adventist. I have family who are SDA and I would say 80% never talk about EGW.
Why are you guys skipping over the fact that he was a SDA pastor for several years? He knows what he is talking about. I don't think many of you know the full background of Ms White or SDA fundamentals.

Because 1) SDA Pastors as trained to teach "Spirit of Prophecy" from the pulpit alongside the Bible, causing confusion; and 2) SDAs are taught to read Spirit of Prophecy more than the actual Bible or in tandem with the Bible so that they end up mislead by Ellen G White's false interpretation of the Bible. Yall don't even know you're hearing her writings vs the actual word of God. She's literally woven deeply into the framework of the Organization. There is no SDA without Ellen G White whether you sit and read her books for yourself or not, everything is shaped by her visions and her writings. No escaping her unless you escape the cult.

My parents were both SDA, father was a senior pastor. I was bought up SDA but not a baptised member of the church. My parents never spoke about EGW. We had no EGW books or literature. We had our bibles and our lesson books, that’s it.
Calling them a cult does not mean they are a cult. I’m having lesson studies at present but EGW hasn’t been mentioned yet and if she is, I will make up my own mind about her books or other literature.

Nothing wrong with keeping the sabbath. But it becomes a problem when many from the sda religion (because thats what it essentially is) make that their "god" in a sense. Or make it seem they have it beyter because they are keeping sabbath. Nothing wrong with resting in the Finished work of Christ as i believe we all should. It becomes problematic when all i feel this religion hinges on is keeping the seventh day. The "only" commandment in their view i feel. The bible says we break one, you break them all. 🤷🏿♀️
As a Seventh-Day Adventist I agree with the assessment that truly your guest simply spoke out of ignorance, including the man who spoke through the video insert. Eloquence in speech does not necessarily translate you are knowledgeable about matters.
Try searching for the books Ellen G. White wrote and get better understanding of her works by the teachings of the Holy Spirit such as the Sabbath truth, The Great Controversy, etc, based on THE HOLY BIBLE.
Visit the Ellen G. White Estate located close by Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Please ask questions!!
Or better still, get a Seventh-Day Adventist Pastor who will enlighten you properly about EG White and the SDA Faith.

The difference between EGW and other prophets is that she affirms that the bible remains the uncorrupted rule of faith and practice. That is a HUGE difference to Joseph Smith, Charles Russell, and Muhammad. They all needed to undermine the authority of the scriptures for their teachings to have effect. She is not to SDA's what the others are to other religions. That is a dishonest and slanderous statement.
The Great Controversy is where the undermining started to take shape.

After the outpouring of comments on their last post of many people saying this is wrong plus SDA leaders/pastors reaching out, willing to have a convo and then still deciding to post this today, one can only assume they really just don’t care to hear the view point of an SDA. At this point, it’s giving witch hunt.

Hi all, so I can’t lie this is very misleading. We don’t hold Ellen white in the same light as Muhammad, we don’t pray to her as some Muslims do to Muhammad I believe correct me if I’m wrong. Also, we don’t hold her in the same respect to Jesus Christ or God and in no means exalt her writings above the word of God. 🙏🏾
It may have been useful to actually invite a Seventh day Adventist onto your show rather than have people who have just had conversations with some or know some about the denomination. I think I saw pastor Ivor Myers in the comments at one point and it even Doug Batchelor. The SDA community are seekers for truth and we do a lot of research to come to justified spirit lead conclusions for our faith as do yourselves and others.

I want to first of say thank you for your ministry….Im a seventh day Adventist and I came across your ministry few years ago when I saw Jackie’s testimony and I was touched and encouraged at how you boldly you shared your testimony on how Christ changed your life and how he has been leading you as it is so clear you love God and that is so so encouraging in a word where Christian’s often shy away from truth for men’s applause. I have sometimes watched your podcasts however, I must say on this topic I was really really disappointed by the way you handled this discussion. You didn’t give due diligence in finding a Seventh-Day Adventist to give a balanced view on defend our beliefs and this this was not unfair. You should have found someone to defend our beliefs before continuing with part 2. I do hope you do a part 3 and instead of a ‘debate’ you should simply have a discussion with an adventist on what we believe. If you are genuinely wanting to know the truth then a debate style discussion may lead to arguments and people loosing the message on what Adventists believe and therefore not able to defend the doctrines we uphold.
This discussion should only be entered into by people with an unbiased humble heart and spirit wanting to know the truth from
the word of God. Rather than debating with people that are already set in their views. I know of many seventh day adventists who would be happy to have this discussion like my husband …if you are HUMBLE and GENUINE in your search for truth
Perrys have you considered what if the Seventh day Adventist doctrines are Biblical and Truth? Have you studied for yourself what is the doctrine? Have you considered what if Thunder and Mason are bearing false witness against the truth? The attacks against Christ and the early believers came from leaders in the church and from false witnesses. I said it on the previous podcast when they lumped us with other “cults”. These men do not represent what SDA believe but rather they assume that we hold the teachings of Ellen White above the Bible. To me being SDA is just a step to getting closer to the truth. We go from glory to glory to glory to God. Adventism has taught me about keeping the Sabbath something other denominations do not teach. Some just need to learn how to chew the meat and spit out the bones per se when it comes to certain teachings. The word of God tells us that we must STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED !
It seems as though it was a step closer to Mormonism. Joseph Smith was heavily influenced by Adventism. 😟

Our faith, and our position in the world as commandment keepers is based on the Bible. Never should the Testimonies be brought in to take a high place than the Bible. EA 141.4
The more we look at the promises of the Word of God, the brighter they grow. The more we practice them, the deeper will be our understanding of them. Our position and faith is in the Bible. And never do we want any soul to bring in the Testimonies ahead of the Bible. Ev 256.3

Jesus is our Eldest Brother, the appointed heir of God (Hebrews 1:1-2):
Jesus was the first begotten of the Father; he was the first who was brought forth from the eternal foreknowledge of God (Proverbs 8:22-36, John 16:25-27). It was the Father who sent His Son into the world (1 John 5:1, John 3:16-18) to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). The Father wants His family back. He wants all of His children with Him in His kingdom. The only way for us to reconcile back to Him is to listen and do the words of the one He sent-Jesus. In turn, God will send the Holy Spirit, who will then show, teach, and reveal to us the mind of Christ who has been given the mind of God. It is the Holy Spirit who will bring back to our *_remembrance_* the words and promises which we have lost (John 14:26).
Jesus said “whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother” (Mark 3:35). We are all the children of God and His family when we come back to Him. God has appointed Jesus to be our master in words and deeds, and to serve the Father _only_ (Luke 4:8). Amen.
I wish ppl would stop calling or labeling themselves. I've asked sda members why not just be a regular Christian or why call yourself sda? Why not just a Bible believing holy spirit filled believer? Why sda? It's like a turn off to many because it just sounds like religion. And a sect.
So basically replace one label with another? Like the Mormons - I mean, Church of Later-Day Saints? You're not making any sense.

A REAL believer and follower of Christ is not walking around saying ,"I'm a Baptist, pentecostal, Lutheran Christian" I just say I'm a believer and follow Jesus that is it. The disciples were not walking around talking about what denomination they were. They just followed Jesus.

Most every person is given a name that reflects your bloodline, whose child you are, often your personality or even the blessing desired to be placed on you. It is what you shall be called by. You don’t answer to another person’s name. We are called by the name of Jesus. We are Christians truly, and Remnant. The name Seventh Day Adventist denotes the held Biblical beliefs that differ from most so called Christians and stands as a beacon of light to remind those that love Jesus of His TRUTH AND HIS PROMISE. We believe that God’s commandments Exodus20:3-17 still stand and will continue to stand . Jesus said it is easier for heaven and earth to pass , than one tittle of the law to fail. Jesus said that not one jot or one tittle shall pass away from the law until ALL be fulfilled. Jesus said Heaven and earth shall pass away but my word shall not pass away. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Many people walk around nameless because they don’t know what they believe and are blown away with every wind of doctrine. The word of God warns against that.
Instead God say we should meditate on true doctrine according the word and continue regardless what others are doing by giving up their name and their faith that the Reformers devoted and lost their lives for the truths and word of God. 1 Timothy 4:15-16 KJV
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. [16] Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
In regards to people being turned off because we OBEY Jesus and BELIEVE the word of God, Jesus said John 15:18-19 KJV
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. [19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

I wouldn’t call SDA a cult necessarily, it would be better defined as heterodoxy steeped in legalism and heresy.
Whether a teaching is heterodoxy depends on what you’re comparing it to and the time window you’re looking at. For instance, many evangelical beliefs are heterodoxy when compared to the teachings of the early to mid 1800’s.
On the legalism front, our doctrine is far from legalistic. Are there SDA’s who are legalistic? Yes, in fact every denomination practically shares that problem. But doctrinally, that is not the case
Yes but over those years, church doctrines were challenged and overturned but the The SDA church has been consistently recognized as heterodoxy and that’s not going to change any time soon. It would be extremely concerning and dangerous if any sect that birthed out of the Millerrite movement became orthodox.
How is it not legalistic to enforce that the Sabbath day of rest is only acceptable before God if it’s taken from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset? The SDA doctrine subjects its members to observe specific days (elementary principles, Galations 4:9) instead of subjecting themselves to Christ who is preeminent (Mark 2:27).
If the SDA church truly does pursue keeping this Sabbath law in faith they wouldn’t uphold that those who keep the Sabbath on Sunday, that their sabbath rest is unacceptable before God, since Christ has made us free to seek righteousness in faith apart from the law, in fact this is the only acceptable way to seek righteousness (Rom 9:30).
This is one of the reasons why the their sect is recognized as heterodoxy bc those that do bound themselves to the strict observance that Israel partook in, are subjecting themselves to things apart from faith. Many people can fall into legalism but the SDA church has nurtured legalism and approves it in doctrine!
@@CJ3cel Keeping of GOD’s commandments isn’t legalism. Keeping the commandments of God is love for Christ and it is the Biblical standard. If your so called orthodoxy is contrary to the scripture therein lies the problem. Jesus is very clear that “ if you love ME keep MY commandments.” John 14:15. We are not free to choose how to love Jesus when Jesus states how to love Him. Satan is the one that desires for the law of God to be broken. Breaking God’s law is the definition of sin. If you accept Jesus gift of His life you will also accept His freedom from sin and His promise for the Holy Spirit to give you power to overcome sin. Otherwise you just have a form of godliness but deny the POWER thereof. The Bible states from such turn away. The saints at the end of the world are defined as those that keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus Revelation 14:12.
Many are teaching for doctrines the commandments of men instead of the commandments of Jesus. And further Faith without works is dead. James2:17
By calling out the Seventh Day Adventist Church as a church that still holds true to Gods commandments and believes that the commandments written with God’s very finger Exodus 20:3-17 should still be obeyed is a blessing in Gods eye and you should consider becoming a Seventh Day Adventist if you are a true lover and worshipper of God because if they are correct that ALL of the COMMANDMENTS of GOD including the 4 th commandment are to be obeyed what else may they be right about.
God hates sin and as HIS children so should we and turn away from it. Many will say to me in that day have we not done many wonderful works in your name and in your name done many wonderful works but Jesus will say depart from me you workers of iniquity. Btw iniquity is sin. Sin is transgression of the law. Amen. 1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God hath not called you to uncleanness but to holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man but God, who hath also given unto us His Holy Spirit 1 Thessalonians 4:8 ye have condemned and killed the just and he doeth not resist you. James 5:6
However God’s promise is sure if you desire to know God and His truth not the doctrine of men He will provide when you search with your whole heart . If an any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that give us to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him, but let him ask in faith. Nothing wavering for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:5,6.
To those that desire and work toward the to do the will of God as we all should the scripture says 1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer, according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls to Him and welldoing as unto a faithful Creator.

To those seeking the truth and the will of God the word of God says “Whosoever TRANSGRESSETH and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not in your house neither bid him God speed. Fear God and give glory to HIM for the hour of His judgement is COME. and worship Him that made heaven and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water.
