I've bought the pattern for Timothy and one of these days I'm going to get some jumbo yarn and crochet that 24in monstrosity. I want to be able to say I've made a giant plush one day 😂
Thank you, that was a great video.💕 I think I’ll start with the little dino first then progress to the jumbo size later. 🤞🏼 Love from North East England UK💕
hi merry! all of these are adorableeeeeee, did you use your own mini dino pattern to make the 14 inch dino? it looks perfect for me as i am an advanced beginner in amigurumi
Both! Your yarn size should determine what size crochet hook you use. The appropriate size crochet hook will feel easy to work with. For stuffies, you want to use a hook on the smaller size so that your stitches are tighter/closer together to prevent the stuffing from coming out. Additionally, keep your tension in mind. Some folks crochet much tighter, requiring bigger crochet hooks to be able to work into stiches comfortably. Some folks--the opposite! Hope that helps! ❤️❤️❤️
To make the 24in, it takes me 3 skeins (should be able to get away with 2.5 skein) of main color and 1 skein (should be able to get away with half a skein) of stripe color! ❤️❤️❤️🦖🦖🦖it’s a big arm workout!!!
hi,love your work! looks super clean😍 i am beginner, did just few projects, there are things that I want to make but just much bigger so if I will just change the hook size i can receive a bigger outcome with every pattern?should i choose a different yarn too?
Hello! Thank you! Yes, as long as your hook size is appropriate for your yarn, you can make amigurumi of different sizes. This is the case for most, but not all patterns as some scale differently or work specifically with a particular yarn. Hope that helps! ❤️
@@merrymakes o wow thank you for the answer!you save me so much time because i was trying to experiment with the pattern and adding rows, stitches etc without any plan and it was a mess😅 thanks for your knowledge!!♥️
I make the 14in dino with my mini-dino pattern (link in description) but with size 7 jumbo chenille yarn (such as Parfait XL, or Sweet Snuggles) and a 10mm crochet hook! Hope that helps! ❤️
For the 24in, I use 3 balls of main color and half a ball of stripe color! For the 14in, I use 1 ball of main color and around 50g of stripe color! (Each ball of Sweet Snuggles yarn is ~250g) Hope that helps! ❤️
@@merrymakes I was hoping someone had asked and you replied….thank you for doing so, I want to make the 14” one for my mini bestie who is 2yo and obsessed with dinosaurs.
