    Great to see you back! I've got some hanging domes like those fish ones, but for air plants - I sit them on top of shelf props, they come off pretty easily. I do the same thing for bigger dome hanging pots that are fired upside down.

      Thanks Ryan. The student had taken the glaze a little too high inside which is why they stuck unfortunately. A little bit of effort got them off without damage. Thanks for watching 😀

    Today I unloaded a test kiln with pieces that had rhubarb leaf texture on it, I’m trying to find a combination I like for a bird bath. I’ve also been screen printing Spectrum raised accents on soft leather hard clay. I really like the raised accents I can screen print a design and not worry about it moving at all.

    So glad you are back snd feeling better!! Love your videos, I always learn something new. I watched your Poppy Head videos and want to give them a try. I check on using glass frit and they all had lead . Is this the norm and how safe is it to work with? Thanks

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  2 года назад

      Hi Pat and thanks for your kind words 😊. I use Bullseye Frit but you can use glass from bottles - but you can't mix it with other glass if you use that. I don't think Bullseye glass (used for glass fusing) contains lead. Hope that helps. Good luck with your project and send me a pic 📸

    I had the same problem with mixing Clayscape glazes but finally found somewhere that you should start with 100unces of water, mix sieve and check consistency. {let it mature for 24 hours} if u dip ur finger in it and can still see ur nail when you take ur finger out, it should be good to use. two coats only. If not, add small amounts of water to get right consistency. {I was frustrated, but now they work well for me. Hope they work for u.

      Thanks so much for your advice on this Christine. The Cobblestone glaze is very gritty so I'll try sieving it. I'm not sure I've added enough water 😕. Thanks for watching

    • @sharonbryant5811
      @sharonbryant5811 2 года назад +1

      as of now the brush on glazes of Jess’s will only be available in dipping because of the difficulties and supply issues with product availability. Mix for dipping and add gum solution for brushing. Sieving is recommended. I find I need more water than recommended because of my water and elevation in far west Texas. Hope that’s helpful.

    Hello Sarah
    I have a question I hope you or someone can help me. I've done a glaze fire and some of my pieces are pin holes. They are planters and cups so I know I have to fix them. Wondering do I have to reglaze them or can I just refire them and hope the holes fill in. If you could help that'd be great.

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  2 года назад +1

      Hello Heidi. Pin holes are a pain! Definitely need to add glaze over the pin holes and then refire. Might be that the firing was too hot so maybe reduce the temperature by 10 degrees 🤔 😊

      @@thepotterycorner I have an older kiln just a kin that has the cone to shut it off so I'll reglaze and the try and fire again. I can't do holds or soaks a small older kiln. I'm sure if I reglaze it it'll work out and fix the problem. Thank you for the reply and tip to reglaze.
