I just wanted to say that when it comes to the planets, they have stated that they are only using the real solar system temporarily for testing purposes. The actual game will have a unique solar system similar to Kerbol and will be about 2.5x the scale of KSP
I did hear about the real solar system being used now just for practical purposes. I have not yet heard about them introducing a 2.5x scale of Kerbal. Do you know where I can find that info? Edit: Nevermind, I just read your other comment about the reddit post. I will check it out now.
@@curious_ksp_do you know if the game will have the option to use the real solar system? It looks fantastic and RSS is the only way I can play KSP nowadays
@@everybodyants it’s a high-copium hope, but maybe Take2 sells the KSP label to them (I know the news says they sold it but dollars to donuts it’s just in a holding company) or at least offers a deal to use the ip for the game in exchange for being the named publisher
By Arcus! This might actually turn out to have a good shot a genuine successor to KSP... We'll wait and see though. A separate issue: I wonder if they will be able to make KSA a better flight sim (as in: atmospheric airplane flight) as KSP...
I'm really interested on how the craft part connections will work. KSP uses branches like a tree when connecting parts. This means when you use the two way splitter, then say, you put two size 1 crew modules on each of those splits, followed by a reversed two way splitter, only one of the crew modules connects. You can get around this with docking ports but its not optimum as it grows your part count (4 docking ports every time this is done) and is no doubt kraken bait. As a free IVA user, I like building fully traversable craft but this applies also on the stability of big structural builds.
@@interestinggameraltlol9245 Yes, I am aware. I just wanted to see what his thoughts were. But thanks for the heads up anyways. But the RTGs in KSP run off of "Blutonium-238" so who knows?
Bro how does Dean Hall have these contacts? A senior software engineer from the world’s current leading rocketry industry that created the first reusable LEO system? That’s insane.
I wonder if they’ll make a binary planet system? I know KSP 2 were making one, and that they had some solution for patched conics for it, but I don’t know what it was. While going for an approximation of 3-body physics would be very cool, it would make our satellite orbits unstable, at least without some sort of simulated station-keeping RCS consumption. I hope angular momentum is conserved in this game though, it’s kinda silly to just stop your rocket spinning by entering time-warp.
@@daskampffredchen If it’s just an approximation using the shared centre of mass of the two objects, then that just works if you’re significantly further from the planets than they are from one another. A close binary planet system would have strange orbits between the two planets that couldn’t be approximated by a shared COM or by patched conics.
they have to add earth cities, even if its just one made with placeholders, just something that planes and other earthside vehicles can drive and fly around in

KSP is still the most popular rocket simulator, but it's quite old and limited so it's an easy target. KSA is designed to be basically the same thing as KSP but built to break limits from the first day. I think the only way KSP doesn't "die" here is if the vibes are really bad.

They did discuss it indirectly at points, basically when talking about certain features they would mention something along the lines of “this integration makes this thing entirely customizable/moddable” and comments like that, so however it works they’re clearly gearing the modding space to be as accessible as possible without straight up selling their engine.
True, I did not really think about what the interpretation by others would be. I agree spiritual successor is more accurate and just friendlier. Like, KSP will always be in our hearts.
there is simply no way this game is going to come close to KSP any time soon. I'm happy there is another game but lower your expectations to a reasonable level

Hey Curious, can you do a video about RTGs? The ones from KSP? How do they function indefinitely?
In real life, they don’t live forever, but in ksp they are simplified. Radiation constantly decays….

They probably use a barycenter object like planet packs do

Yeah, KSP2 is abandonware. hasn’t been updated since June, and nobody is working on it.
"KSP Killer" as in "KSP1 Killer". Like what KSP2 should have been.
Honestly I am very excited to see when this is fleshed out because I have an RTX-4060 and 16GB of memory in my laptop so I can easily play it
