Cool video! I appreciate you getting right to the point and giving examples.
Awesome stuff I know I'm late to this party but I definitely going to pick one up now that I took my N64 out of storage
That's a lucky find! There's a lot of projects these days using the original hardware and emulating the floppy drive, or a solid state hard drive so you download the abandonware and have everything in one place. It's all about preservation projects and overcoming failing storage media.
Now this is cool! 🤙🏻
Just want to ask:
Do you still use that Everdrive? How has it been holding up?
Great video
Don’t know whether you own the others (super or mega ever drive x5 series)
But would the same SD card work with each as long as they all have their seperate OS on the same card?
I haven't tried so I'm not sure on that.
@@RetroGamingGuy that’s all good
Great video anyway definitely worth getting
Christmas is coming
@@juliantaylor7663 Thanks for the kind words and support!
hi hope you can answer this question, but do you need an expansion pack to play these games you have on the everdrive?
The N64 always needs a Jumper Pack or Expansion to function.
Cant wait!
Hey. I got the cartridges plus fully loaded sd cards. They don’t work. Get an fat error f7. What do I do?by the way, wcw vs nwo!🔥🔥🔥gold!🐸🍺🔪🔥
Shame my expansion pack is no longer good anymore. Found out it's a pretty common problem too so a good thing to look for if anyone's N 64 suddenly stops working
Definitely
@@RetroGamingGuy This does bring up a good question for the future. If they can do these everdrives for cartridge based games if they trying to figure out a method for using the cartridge port in Saturn for it.
@@SpiritualJD12887 that would be great since Saturn is an absolute nightmare to emulate. I wish it were possible with disk systems like GameCube, ps2, and original Xbox. So many games from those systems I’d love to be able to play without having to track down original discs and all of that.
Are you saying that your everdrive broke or that your everdrive broke your n64?
@@JB-mm5ff neither. I'm saying my N64 expansion pack (original system hardware) unrelated to the everdrve stopped working. You see while the default system could play most N64 without issue some games required you install an expansion pack in order to play them: E.G. Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong etc.
Going even further if you bought a third party expansion pack like I did over decades they can degrade.
In my case that's exactly what happened as some of the glue melted into the expansion pack circuitry. I tried to clean it off but it was just too far gone to work.
To be fair at the time I bought it I didn't know it would have this issue or I would have gotten the official N64 expansion pack.
love these things
Yep! Such a great product!
Can you save game progess to the SD card directly or do you still need a memory card. How does saving work.
Yeah it still save to the sd card on here
@@RetroGamingGuy does the game save when you save in game. how do you do the the save. Do you simply turn the power off.
@@ryzelrb Pretty much saves the same way you would save in the original games. Not all games are the same but it saves to the card.
@@ryzelrb You need to reset the console in order for it to save.
Does the everdrive 64 cartridge you purchased through amazon come preloaded with all the games?
How does saving work? Do games save and load okay with everdrive?
Save in game, then hit the reset button.
It's saves just like it were using the memory card
I recently purchased this sd card from you quick question Once you are in a game is the only way to get back to game selection is to reset the console?
Hey there, yes that is correct.
@@RetroGamingGuy Ok. Thank you
@@timbaszak128 any time
If the quality and better or worse than the original games? For example if I compared to a real 007 golden eye. Would I be able to tell any difference?
They’re pretty much exactly the same. They aren’t remastered or anything like that and they’re being played on the same system so everything is pretty identical.
it's just the games ripped off carts playing on original hardware so it is 100% identical
Can you drop the link to the load file
So in order to play the games, you yourself have to load all the games onto the SD Card Yourself?
If that’s the case, that’s cool and all, but for those who don’t have a PC, or a Gaming One, or know our way to get downloads of them without putting a fok ton of viruses on our computer’s, it isn’t good in the slightest…
Is there an Ever like Drive that already has all the games loaded on it? If so, where can I purchase it
Is there a specific site where you can download the games? Are they expensive?
They are free. Multiple websites available for downloading roms
How is nintendo not litigious af over this?
Who got a link (winkwink) for some…. Of these… “games” to download?
