    That is so heartbreaking. I’m so sorry sir- missed so many years and milestones in his life because of this. I hope you sue the lifeee out of that justice system (detective, judge, jury, police, detectives, etc.). Set yourself up for somewhat of a content life out of prison.

    Sue the city, the judge, the detectives involved for lying, and the jury who knew it was a wrongful conviction. To forgive doesn't mean they face no consequences. He needs to get what's his. Millions. Also press charges so they can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

    Such an amazing individual to be able to forgive for all those lost years of physical imprisonment but his mind was free. Wishing the best for him, hoping he can heal and get the support that will guide, nurture and direct him in the what is his new life.

      They should be because they all lied in a "court of law" and that should be held accountable as well as many other offenses made but we all know that will not be the case unless a protest, letters, keeping it in the media or whatever until justice is served. It just won't! He is not the first, nor last because there are many more in prison that were wrongly convicted!

    This Gentleman should get 1 million dollars a year for every year spent incarcerated tax free.The ones that framed him should get the same amount of time this Gentleman suffered without parole.

      Money will not replaced what he lost but it will do two things. First, it will help him get a start on the life he should have had. Second, it will send a message to others that when you commit an injustice, you will pay. No it’s not perfect, but he deserves that at least.

    hes free but whats the compensation ? thats 18yrs X 20-50K per year in lost earnings based on his potential earnings/education. if he was never arrested. does he get to file a civil lawsuit against the police or prosecutors ?

    Aww man, I'm glad he's out. This is crazy they shouldn't get away with this just so. My guy is gonna need therapy, and all the help he can get to move back through society after all the damage they've done. I'm most happy he didn't lose faith in the most high even when he was wrongly criminalised

    it looks like he will do well. the big challenge will be transitioning back into regular life. that will take longer and more work, just like getting injured and needing physical therapy there needs to be a daily program and schedule. helping his mom is a good start, reading books, taking care of pets, working part or full time, getting an online degree etc.

    I can’t believe with all the technology we have in this country he spent that much time in jail, I understand if you live in third world country can happen but, here in USA?     Speechless, except for the part where they laugh when the inmate says I’m innocent.. A lot of folks ain’t gonna let that sink in. Only the people that are one with themselves will understand what I’m saying 💯

    "It's the people", keys words. A lot of times we blame "the system", as if the system is "people-less" We need to hold the people accountable, from the judge, to the prosecutor, to the police. Only then will we have a just system.

    Its crazy to see this still happening. It should absolutely be mandatory to pay anyone wrongfully convicted. And they need to supply them with everything they need for life, (i.e. insurance, a 401k, a place to live immediately).

    Congratulations on your release and welcome home. Unfortunately the people who need to be behind bars are the ones who put you there. From the police officers to the DA and then the Judge who learned the officer pergured himself. You now have the right to be heard, may your words possibly help the next person who is being mistreated by the system. Get a good attorney for counseling before you do anymore interviews .
