I have one of these and had problems without using a dust collector. The sawdust inside will pack around the cain gear and case problems when raising and lowering the blade. It has been working great once I set up my dust collector.
Don’t put money out for this piece of junk. DeWalts customer service is very poor. Mine hade 15 minutes total of light duty and it popped the breaker each time I used it. The belt melted off planing a 4 inch wide piece of pine. Dewalt did nothing.
Esa maquina no es industrial solo es para quitar mimlimetro por milimetro solo es para pulir. No abusen de ella el metió un tablón para un cepillo industrial.

Was it connected to 120V or 240V?
Sounds like you need a 20 amp breaker. These are 15amp. 15amp breaker would do that all the time and more than likely what's in your panel
Once again, the belt melted off. The motor ran fine.
