- Hey there everyone! Sean Pierce Johnson here and welcome to this week's episode of "Stompbox Saturday". This week we look at the VolWah, a mini combo Volume & Wah pedal that is possibly the ULTIMATE in pedalboard real estate savers!
Functioning as both a volume pedal and classic "Clyde McCoy"-ish wah wah pedal, both effects function BEAUTIFULLY...even if I can't see the pedal underneath my feet.

Spot on review and great playing to demo that crazy mini wah. I have one, and the "sticking" issue is present on mine as well, so you do need to be a bit careful on your foot placement. Still, a surprisingly functional mini pedal, and hard to beat at that price point. Good job!

Its an awesome pedal ive been playing with it for a week now I'm just not digging how small it is!! Other than that I love it! Has great sound and sweep! Just need to be a bigger!!

My EB volume pedal has a bypass or output that is not controlled by the circuit.
Meaning I can send the signal thru the pedal and out to a tuner. I can use the tuner regardless of what position the volume pedal is in. Does this model do that? If I ever buy a combo Vol/ Wah it will have to have this feature.
please tell me, in the absence of power on the pedal - does the pedal perform any function with sound? or does the pedal only work with 9 volts?
It doesn't work without 9v power supply.
Is this pedal with cry baby similar or is the result much different?
Can you make a video playing Jimi Hendrix voodoo child (slight return) with this pedal? I think it would be really cool and would like to hear it before I buy it lol.

Not stereo. You could it you have a TRS to Dual TS y-cable
Have you tried the Hotone Soul Press II? I would be interested in a comparison between those two
I haven’t tried it. But it is on my radar.
Does it have any butons? I can’t seem to get it started.
It operates as a volume pedal by default. It does need 9volts to work though.
You activate the wah by pressing the foot switch down under the toe of the pedal, just like a normal wah.
Thanks. I did that and it did not work. Funny enough they’ve sent me a replacement and that did not work either. Asked a refund and I’ll buy a Dunlop.
how do you know you are in Wah mode or volume mode when the LEDs are underneath the pedal? Can you even see it?
There’s a pretty easy tell for which mode your in: you can hear it.
Other than that there’s a faint glow from the LEDs you can catch from underneath.
@@SeanPierceJohnson By the time you hear it's probably too late. You just made a wah sound instead of a volume swell. So the glow is somehow visible while on stage?
@@rossbrigolimusic when the wah is off it's just a volume pedal. i wouldn't SLAM the toe down for a nice swell. I had this on a worship board for close to a year and never mistakenly turned the wah function on.
And yes, the LEDs are somehwat visible. You can see the faint glow from under the foot treadle.

the volume pedal is buffered i believe, i'm inclined to believe the wah effect is true bypass but i'm not certain.
as far as eating signal, i don't notice any significant signal loss.
Wah mode is pretty good. Vol is ok but the sweep is too small for nice swells…. Not bad for the money though;)
The sweep looks like standard sweep distance to me. You can tighten the screw for smoother longer/slower swells
