- Learn how to move a RUclips Playlist from one channel to another. Read more about this tutorial below.
🔻
If you decide to niche down your RUclips channel, you might feel the need to transfer some of your playlists with videos from other channels to a new channel. Unfortunately, you can’t transfer the ownership of a playlist, so sharing it is not a viable option. If you really want to delete a Playlist from the channel where it was originally created and save the videos somewhere else, you have two options:
(1) Open each video one by one and save it to a new playlist on your other channel (this might become a daunting task depending on the number of videos on your playlist).
(2) Follow the steps on this tutorial instead and transfer all the videos at once.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This method just helps you transfer a playlist. This method doesn't transfer the videos to the new channel. If you delete the old channel or if you delete the videos from the old channel, the videos will also disappear from the new channel.

Once I copy the same video to my other channel, can I simply make the original video on the old channel "Private" or must I delete it?
I strongly suggest deleting it from the old channel. From what I have read, RUclips finds duplicate content even in private videos.
Okay, I feel bamboozle. The how can move the playlist from the old channel to the new one and delete the old channel without having any issues?
This method just helps you transfer a playlist as if you were sharing it with someone else. This method doesn't transfer the videos to the new channel. If the videos are yours and you delete them from old channel, the videos will also disappear from the playlist in the new channel, just like any other video from a different content creator.
@@up2dateSkills So just to be clear... If I move a playlist of Videos that somebody else created, like a bunch of music videos etc... I can delete the original playlist, and all the of the same music videos will still be in the New list. But if I am the creator of the videos, and I delete the originals, they will be delete everywhere? ...is this correct?
Thank you SO much for this video. They really make it hard to figure out how to "share" videos between our multiple channels. But you explained it clearly, and slow enough that I could follow along and click everything to get mine setup. Now I get to keep my views and comments, but on the new channel. Perfect.
Hi! You still have to keep the videos on the original channel. If you delete the videos from the original channel, they won't appear on the new playlist. If you are thinking about deleting the old channel, you have to post the videos again in the new channel.
I just went to your channel and watched some videos. What a great project you have. Hats off to you and your Ballyhoo Creations!
@@up2dateSkills Got it! It's working for me. I wish RUclips allowed Channel segmentation the way maillists do. And thanks for the channel compliment. I'm blushing a bit. (●'◡'●)
Thanks for this! If you follow the steps exactly, it works! RUclips really must find a quicker way to copy playlist between accounts/channels, but until then, your method works a charm!
wow, jus wanted to change my whole playlist to my new cannel , cant thank you enough 💜
Madam, my hat goes off to you. Your perseverance is awesome. Am stealing myself to try this, but I need a coffee first.😄😄
I hope one coffee is enough!
very useful video. I couldn't access my playlists via youtube music while driving. This did the trick 👍
That's exactly my problem right now 😂
Great job! I could not have figured this out without your help.
Thanks so much for showing how to transfer playlists to another channels! Has anyone found a workaround yet on how to save playlists before needing to delete a channel?
If you delete a channel, you will delete all the videos that were posted on that channel. It doesn't matter if they are on a playlist on some other channel or not.
This is awesome and amazing! Thank you for the clear explanation!
that is a lot of step and channel swapping to do something that should be easy - trust YT to make things hard to do.
Gosh... it took me a while (and watching it over and over) to finally get it working. Thank you very much!
Question: If I make the playlist private on the original account, will it still show public in the new account?
Sorry, I haven't tried that.
A bit long but does the job! Basically create new playlist at target, enable collab, copy share collab link. Switch to old channel and paste link so it appears in list, open old playlist and 'save to' new one.
If you intend to create a new channel then delete the old channel though you'll have to create playlist on new channel, collaborate, add videos from old channel, turn off collaboration, refresh. Create another new playlist on your new channel then add all the videos to it from the playlist you collaborated with also on your new channel, then delete the playlist you collaborated with. That's just for music videos at least.
Fyi you don't have to keep switching back and forth to the channels you can have two or more channels open in their own tabs😉just make sure you only switch to the channel you want to delete in only one tab afterwards or it'll swallow your new channel with it as i learned the hard way lol. To be on the safe side clear your browser just incase before doing it because the whole collaboration thing and opening your channels up in their own tabs seems to create a kind of bridge between them and you want to make sure it's fully disconnected.
Very helpful. Thank you so much. Appreciated
This is great. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help.
Thank you so much for this!!! If this actually works, this could be a game changer for me. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for some time, and I’ve resorted to doing it manually. 😫😭
There we go! there's create a playlist they changed things in the last year obviously. Fyi you can have two or more channels open in their own tabs just open one channel up onto it's playlist page, then open up that channel again in a new tab, and then switch to another channel and go to it's playlist page too so you can more quickly open up any playlists or refresh the page.
You don't have to keep switching back and forth so much like in the video, and you don't have to keep going into the channel then to the playlist page to enter the collaboration link, you can just keep the one open on the channel you've collaborative with then paste the link in there and before that you only need to go to your channel page. I just figured this out the first time doing this, just close your playlists after you're done.
If you want to delete a channel don't make the mistake i just did by deleting a channel while having the new one open in another tab🤦make sure you only switch to the channel you want to delete in one tab or it'll delete your new channel along with the other one you asked to be deleted. To be on the safe side i would clear your browser data before doing it so nothing gets it's wires crossed.
I don't know why they don't just let us simply transfer all our playlists over all at once because this is a pain and will take days because you can't make too many playlists within 24 hours or maybe in the span of a certain number of hours, i think it's 24 hours and i hit a wall at 14 the first time but i wouldn't recommend going that far i've been doing about 7 playlists and just about done🙂It'll cut you off for a while if you hit the wall i don't know how long though. The constant switching back and forth, opening playlists, closing playlists this is so unnecessary, i think they do it to stop spam playlists being created but this is overkill.
This was so very helpful, thanks so much!
Thankyou, realy was helpfull!
OMG I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!
Glad I could help!
This is way too many steps. There should just be a "share playlist" option in the dropdown menu.
I totally agree. I usually just go through these steps if the playlist has too many videos. Otherwise, I just open the videos and saved them one by one.
@@up2dateSkills Makes sense to me! Your method sure beats saving huge playlist vids individually!
Super helpful and easy to follow, thank you!
I'm glad it worked for you too.
Oh my god, thank you so much, I can't express enough how that is going to help me!
Clear and powerful explanation!
I'm happy to hear that!
Where were you 3 years ago, thank you
I was probably here, perfecting the art of staying put - it takes a lot of practice 😀
Easy to follow, many thanks
THANK YOU!
OMG THANK YOU SM
Thanks for this you’re amazing 😊
Very nicely done however, this can be overwhelming to the average RUclips user like myself. Is there a way you can simply export your play list from the "current" channel, then open your "new" channel and import the playlist?
I don't think so.
I can't say of earlier, but now, in Apr2024, this doesn't seem possible. The collaborated playlist shows in the target account only when we enter its (shared) url in the url bar. But it doesn't show under target accounts 'Playlists' tab, nor does it show when we wish to add any video to it in target account.
Hope I'm clear enough in what I want to say.
You can open up several channels in their own tabs, the way i do it is i open up the youtube channel on the channel i'm currently on and go to it's playlist page, and then open up the youtube channel again in another new tab. Then i switch to another channel and go to it's playlist page. That way i can see all my playlists and i can open one up and transfer my videos over a bit faster.
It's fine while i'm doing it all playlists are 100% visible, if you don't want collaborators to show up though all you can do is create another new playlist in your new channel then from the folder you collaborated on add all those videos to the new playlist, then delete the playlist you collaborated on. Honestly i'm doing this because of privacy reasons.
Don't create too many playlists in one day though or it'll cut you off for a while just do a couple a day sadly this is going to take a bit of time. When deleting a channel make sure to only switch to the channel you want to delete in the one tab or it'll delete the other channels you have open in other tabs, i just found this out the hard way lol.
Thanks a lot madam .
3:49 after click this page is showing another page
My time waste any solution....
At 4.06 you select the list you're copying to: when you click to tick that box then disappears, How do you do that? As when I do that it just unticks the box. Click again ticks but I can't leave the select list box.
Thanks
Glad I could help!
thank you it was helpful
thank you
THANKYOU
same contents and videos will be shown in two channels and the youtube robot will be confused and will limit showing them to people , is that true ? so better to download and upload again to new channel and delete from the old channel where you dont want it ?
yes i thank you too
I have been trying to move a playlist from one of my channels to another, but I don't have a 'collaborate' button in my 3 dots. Any ideas what to do next?
Hi! You can open the playlist you want to move and inside the left panel (where you can edit the name of the playlist) you will find the three dots and the 'collaborate' option is still there. I've just check on one of my playlists. I hope it works for you too.
@@up2dateSkills It let me collaborate on my phone, I could change it, but then I didn't have a continue button when it came to that bit. Think I will just reupload videos. Seems easier 🫠
I am clicking the 3 dots and the option to collaborate is not there. Where else can it be?
Ok I found it when I clicked edit in RUclips
Sorry for the late reply ! I'm glad you found the answer though! Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you very good video. Q. this does not seem to work on a new channel wait for history, is that correct?
I'm sorry. I didn't quite get your question.
Thanks. Will the view count and comments transfer as well?
Sorry, I'm not sure about that.
Once the videos are moved to your other channel, can you simply make them unlisted or private on the original channel so as to not lose views or will this be considered duplicate content?
Great question! Here's what I think: Videos can be added to multiple playlists across different channels, but the view count always belongs to the channel where the video is posted. Moving playlists doesn't transfer videos or views between channels. Videos retain their original channel ownership and view count. If you move a playlist, the videos won't show up in your new channel's content list. To avoid duplicate content issues, it's best to delete the video from the original channel before posting it on the new one, even though you'll lose views. Keeping videos private on the old channel might prevent them from appearing in playlists on the new channel.
@@up2dateSkills in order to get the videos on your new channel, can you move the playlist like this video recommends then delete them from the original channel OR will this also delete them on the new channel as they are only in "collaborate" status?
If you delete from the old channel, they will disappear from the new channel too. A video always belongs to the channel where it was first created or posted.
@@up2dateSkills I'm glad I asked that question!
Your house restoration project @restoringbonaire is absolutely inspiring! You just got yourselves a subscriber. I'm hoping that watching your house come back to life will give me the confidence to tackle some long-awaited projects in my house.
If I delete my old channel that added videos to a new playlist in my new channel, does it delete the videos in my playlist or can I still see them?
If the videos were created on the channel you want to delete, the videos will be deleted too.
@@up2dateSkills how about if its not my videos but other videos people add that I put into a playlist?
The videos from other Channels or other RUclipsrs will remain on the Playlist unless the person who created them deletes them from their channel.
@@up2dateSkills Ah, I'm glad you clarified that. Most folks just want to preserve their playlists of videos they've collected across YT to a new account before deleting the old one. Kind of a shame if deleting the old account ruins all that hard work of trying to preserve the collected video playlists in the first place.
Worked!!
Ainda bem!
I transfered a bunch of Playlist from one account to another using RUclipss music app in browser and RUclips banned my account
unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. I keep getting an authentication error, something about cookies. I was using a fresh browser install with no addons. idk why this has to be so difficult
I wish I could help, but this is the only thing I've tried.
It seems with this method you can only copy playlists between different channels of the SAME youtube account, right? Or can you actually copy playlists between * 2 different youtube accounts * as well?
I used this method to copy playlists between 2 different youtube accounts and it worked.
You can even share it with a friend. However, if you choose to delete your old channel, all the videos that you created on that channel will disappear. The videos from other Channels or other RUclipsrs will remain on the Playlist until the creator deletes them.
i need clarification , so i have tow channels , one is empty , the other is with my contents , so i want to move all my data to the new empty channel then i want to keep or delete the main with contents channel , in this way my new empty channel will have all my data with those subscribers, likes views etc?? is its true , i might only keep the new empty channel , please clear it out
No, that's not true! Moving a playlist is just like creating a playlist on another channel. If you delete the original videos from the channel where you posted those videos the first time, the videos will be deleted from RUclips. Moving a playlist doesn't move your subscribers and views to the new channel.
@@up2dateSkills then whats the benefits for it , also i watched nyour video and you deleted from your orignal channel so that means your moved playlist removed? please clear . Also please give me a solution on how i can alteast save my channel because i work in a company and they want me to delete or give them a a whole channel coz im leaving . so please suggest a solution so that i can keep my cchannel or alteast my playlist
Thanks. It's not straight forward to move playlist I guess
No problem, happy to help!
Wow can't believe it so fraking difficult to move a playlist... so brainless
They seem to put difficult measures into youtube because at google they like doing this even if it makes it difficult for their real users, it seems to be measures for spammers as a way to make it difficult for them but they go a bit too far with it every time and don't seem to think they do. I don't think there's a way to seperate it from the algorithm though except create a seperate one for playlist but it just doesn't seem like they're bothered they go for the simplest and least effort solution possible.
you ruined my entire playlist
thank you
