I STUDIED the Chinese educational model for pre & primary school children about 45 to 50 years ago; the simplest way I can put it (I’m not an educator) is that their system of educating young children is like laying foundational bricks for the foundation of a very tall & progressively, intricate, beautiful skyscraper that’s built to last for utilitarian purposes for hundreds of years. The Chinese parents, at that time, were VERY involved & VERY competitive with other parents for the future university spots even then for pre schoolers. The level of cheating & nepotism was indicated to be low because of a checks & balance system by the schools & the state.

I really admire the teachers who came up with all these activities. In the west, a curriculum like that will never be approved. The activities are too dangerous. What if the kids get cut, burned, etc. what if we get sued by the parents?
These are government curriculum. Teachers can have their own twist in how they teach, but what they teach is a predetermined program. Many are not leaders but followers. Isn't it a common college graduate's goal is to work for a good company?

These kids won't be able to compete when they grow up. They need to pass exams to enter good schools and universities, because the reality is they need to go through rote learning in order to do well on exams (unless they are born gifted).
