Never change Nick. Yvan gets 80% of the bumper with 4 drops. Nick uses about 16 drops to cover the remaining 20%. Nick, please come and paint my house!
Solution Finish Fusion Grey is a great product for those Avalanches! Also use their Over The Top sealant to seal in the restored plastic, and then maintain it with something like Ceramic Gloss or whatever your favorite spray sealant is.
Nice sale this weekend with House of Rags! Thx fellas, sure wish your Legacy Sponge wasn’t Out of Stock. I’m ready to go all in on 256:1, sure wish I had a sponge.
As professional detailer how do you know how much to polish on a paint correction before ceramic coating application? I mean, what if the client doesn’t know how many times the car has been polished before. What if you are the tenth guy, and the one who bursts through the clear coat? Liability wise, how would you recommend dealing with that problem? Thank you!
Thank you! Do you have a video of how to identify when the clear coat is about to get burst? I am starting my detailing journey myself and just want to know how much can I do on my cars, and what signs I need to be careful of. Thank you so much!!
Yvan, any tips for restoring toneau covers for truck beds or tops that are faded? I've found VRP from Chemical Guys works OK but doesn't last. Any tips or tricks to bringing that back to life?
Would you recommend polishing plastic that had previously been treated with Solution Finish and their Over the Top sealant? What about if it has then been maintained with something like Ceramic Gloss or Bead Maker?
Would you recommend the trim restore product for the wheelwells? I have a jeep gladiator Mojave and I am about to put the 83 stack on it. I was wondering what to do with the wheel wells (the underside).
Can this product be used for black weatherstripping(ie softer rubber vs. hard trim) that also happens to be both on the inside and outside of the doors/windows? If yes, can it be used both on the inside where the weatherstripping will hit the cars body as well as the outside which is open to air?
Wow. Nice trim results. Hey, I thought I heard Yvan say not to use a blower to dry unless I am using deionized water. If I have been doing this on a hydro lite coated car, can I correct it on the next wash or do I need to use water spot remover? Will the water spot remover hurt the c6 coating? Thanks.
@@diydetailofficialPan said to place a ceramic coating in the fridge after opening. Do I have to do that or can I leave it with the rest of my cleaning supplies?
Yvan my Lexus is only 2 years old the little bit of plastic trim I do have looks not new but very good. Would this be good insurance to keep it from fading its a daily driver and kept outside. I live in Southern California.
Yvan another question I am getting ready to coat my car and I used a your iron remover with the clay towel. I removed a ton of contamination but when I tested the paint with a card and the bag over the hand I still felt some contamination. Do I need to use a clay bar or just clay towel it again?
My best friends c6 Corvette has some adhesive that was left on the headlight lense when someone at a dealership didn’t install some mod correctly. Is there a safe way to remove that adhesive without marring the plastic lense?
@@diydetailofficial Thank you. Would you mind giving me an idea of a light solvent name? My luck would be to use one that would melt a hole on the plastic 😳
The bottle is very expensive. Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer does a very good job for a fraction of the price. In addition, it does not have any dye in it.
That's because it's a true ceramic coating plus there is black pigment in it as well. This will last so much longer. If you want something long lasting and cheaper I would get Cerakote trim restore at Walmart.
Maguire's Ultimate black only lasted like 4 weeks for me. I haven't used DIY but another ceramic-based trim coat (Cerakote) is still holding up 18 months so far.
@@diydetailofficial so ceramic coating will not make it better (black)? I have just one piece of plastic trim so I don’t want to buy a whole bottle just for it.
Do that plastic restoration for hours straight, and your fingers will be killing you. But later that night, when your hand is cramping up, always remember detailing is fun. Jk 😆
Recently, I got carried away when polishing the fenders on my Jeep when preparing the surfaces to use this product. Without thinking, I used gold standard polish on my powder coated front bumper. It now looks faded and whitish. Can this product be used to restore it to it's black color? Or should I do something else to remove the chalky appearance of the front bumper?
@DIY Detail Thanks for the video and for offering such great products! Is there a product out there that can remove the oxidation from aluminum window trim?
This is one of the best if not the best ceramic trim restoration products.

Do you have any advice on windshield polishing? And do you plan on creating a product for that purpose at any point?

4-6 months
