I'm guessing some of the armor and shields were stripped from Phoenix Home and reapplied on the Ghost Edit: after rewatching this episode, it appears as if Phoenix Home's hyperdrive was incapacitated by the damage, although the ship was still able to stay afloat until Sato gave the order to abandon ship and scuttle it. Still, it would take several strafing runs from starfighter cannons to break frigate-grade shields and armor
I swear Hera always says "Our shields can't take much more of this!" yet the Ghost has better shields than most capital ships. Darth Vader destroys the Rebels command ship with ease almost if it has no shields. I know Darth Vader is the best pilot in Star Wars but, the Ghost gets hit a multitude of times and its 100% intact.

But despite that, they used innovative tactics to destroy those tanks and take the airbase? Or when the 212th was landing on Geonosis and they were getting blown out of the sky by Geonosian fighters? But then they rallied to Obi Wan Kenobi and held off the Geonosians with their iron discipline until the Y-Wings and the 501st came to relieve them? Good fucking times.

yeah thats not the rebels holding all the cards, thats a GR75 transport. totally unarmed. The empire has an arquitens light cruiser, which is such a well armed ship that moff gideon uses it as his flagship in the mandalorian. the empire also has TIE interceptors which are defo a match for a wings.

Every battle's the same. Tie Fighters & Star Destroyers can't hit anything even when it's going in a straight line right in front of them and if they do get a random shot in they generally have sod all effect, especially on the Ghost. The Ghost, never seems to miss and seems to be more mobile than the small Tie Fighters it destroys with ease.

This is annoying man, TIE's destroying corvettes in 3 hits, when corvettes are designed to anihilate entire squadrons of fighters. The worst thing is that the corvettes dosn't even shoot back. Nebulon-B Frigates get destroyed by 2 turbo laser hits, and the Ghost survives tons turbo laser hits in the whole series.

Vulture droids can perform much tighter and dangerous turns, but they lack the creativity of an organic pilot. But I'll admit, a computerized starfighter like the Vulture droid would be much cheaper and you don't have to waste valuable lives out in the field. Now, when I say that a droid fighter like the Vulture lacks creativity, I'm talking about deception (i.e. ambushes and sneak attacks). A computer is going to execute only a certain set of instructions, brutally crunching numbers and variables to achieve its objective in the shortest amount of time possible. Certainly, a computer can predict an enemy's intentions via the process of elimination; however, a computer cannot account and calculate for theoretical probabilities. An organic/living pilot - like us humans - are driven by a combination of logic and emotion; we can solve problems mathematically while also following our instincts at the same time to expect the unpredictable and respond accordingly to the best of our abilities (something a computer can't do). Thus, an organic pilot is going to balance both logic and emotion, wanting to catch the enemy off guard via outsmarting/fooling them. All warfare has deception in it, and while a computer can be able to account that mathematically and logically, it lacks the ability to weigh theoretical probabilities and act upon them. In simple words, a robotic starfighter doesn't perform risks and hunches very well.

In this show the empire is getting its ass kicked so much that at some point I stopped rooting for the rebels and I started rooting for the empire. Clone Wars had the same problem, but at least they let the CIS win a couple of times there...
The red flags were in the clone wars how Dave filony nerfs his villains to hell that we see in rebels and the mandalorian besides maybe 3 villains that filony likes (usually his OCs because we know how terrible he treats villains like grievous) he gives them a bit of competence
I always preferred clone wars because the battle were way bigger. Also, it was capital ships vs. other capitol ships. In Rebels, you have small frigates and a discount Milenium Falcon destroying fleets of cutting edge star destroyers. Just makes no sense.

A small rebel ship (most likely with poor weaponry compared to military class items) managed to penetrate the shields of a military ship that carrries fighters, weapons and maybe other things with a few blasts, while receiving heavy fire from bigger guns and the shield sustained all of it.
Considering what we know about Hera and her Love for the Ghost, I think it’s obvious that she has heavily modified to fit her needs, probably even before she met the rest of the crew.

18:50 really shows a recurring problem with the space battles in this show. That Blockade Runner should make mince meat of those fighters. it's what they're designed to do, it's their role in battle. But it just sits there, does nothing, gets horribly crippled after only 2 shots from a single tie fighter and runs away in flames. SO pathetic.
Clone Wars had a similar problem throughout the show too. I like Clone Wars more than Rebels, but let's not pretend like CW handled plot armor any better.
i really enjoyed Rogue One, one of the main reason if because the empire force is somewhat competent and heroes die builds alot more tension and dynamical emotions than watching god mode heroes toy with preschool fodder troopers
That Arquitens-class cruiser didn't even take the explosion in a critical area. Apparantly all you need to do now to take down an Arquitens is to blow up the port prong, which apparently takes down all of the repulsorlifts, engines, and reactors :\
@@isaiahlee2902 I know this comment is like two years old, but the only justification I could come up for this is when the bomber exploded, the ordinance it was carrying caused that blue explosion and knocked out the cruisers systems, and then it fell to the planet because of gravity. That's sort of what I think happened, as no way was there anything critical in that part of the ship
When the Falcon was against Star destroyers it was because they were being chased and have no control over it, with how many times this one ship is up against star destroyers it feels like they are just asking for them at this rate.
Here is a challenge if you wanna die early.. Take a drink everytime the Rebels do something completely stupid or break all canon lore.. You might be dead in minutes. Also take a drink anytime you see only a squad of four TIEs in a fight.. (edit after watching this) Yeah you will be dead pretty fucking fast.

Hillarious how the shields of the Ghost are far tougher than those of a Imperial Stardestroyer. That ship can literally eat dozens of turbolaser hits and be fine while Stardestroyers take major damage after a single pass
In Disney Canon (Rebels and Battlefront 2 specifically) they use Gazanti cruisers wayyyy too much. Those are mass-produced civilian frigates, and retrofitting then for military combat is a waste of time for the Empire when they could just produce actual military freighters and frigates. Seeing Goazanti’s so much is annoying, especially how they’re used, it’s fine if it’s one or twice to deliver cargo, but carrying AT-AT’s out in the open or wasted resources to carry 4 TIE Fighters is just stupid...
Honestly if I had to explain it I’d say the Empire made their own production run of the Gozanti class made for military purposes, like how I’m pretty sure Humvees have a civilian variant alongside a military variant
1:31 That's ridiculous. The ghost is a converted freighter yet it took multiple direct hits without any problem, while the Gonzanti cruiser got easily destroyed with fewer hits. Plot armor and firepower buff at its finest.

In Star Wars The Clone Wars, even if the inconsistency in the ships was blatant, at least the battles seemed to be in real time. Here, the fights look like they have weak, low powered engines.
Some engagements are nice but most of them are just ruined by plot armor. The best thing about this serie is the ships both from the Empire and the Alliance. The medium warships like frigates, corvettes, cruisers and small scale offensive operations are the things the series depicts the best. Also the destruction of most of the Alliance's ships at the end of season 3 is quite a severe and beautiful thing to see ;)
It's absolutely not. And basically . They build a first version with heavier hull, that was already faster than ties. .empire builds tie interceptor . Interceptor rekts any rebel ships in dogfight . Rebels revamp the A wing for it to be a special anti interceptor ship, and that's the version we see in SW 6. . If you remove plot armor every tie fighter design is better than rebel ships. Shields are mainly for swift jumps in hyperspace/ atmosphere entering. Look in star wars II and III how the shielded starfighters as the ARC-170 get absolutely destroyed in seconds. Shields are also for deflecting small debris. But you can survive like 2-6 more shots, which considering the rate of fire of laser cannons and the fact that once you're locked you're pretty much fucked, tie fighters are actually a smart design. No need for shields giving the sheer numbers.
Most of these fights can be boring because we all know the people with plot importance win, but space battles in Star Wars can still be entertaining if done correctly, like lightsaber choreography…
I remember thinking right after Disney announced that they had acquired Lucasfilm from George Lucas that they should take it super slow, think things through, make every line count and every action worth it, as I finished thinking that we had 5 Movies 3 Tv Shows 1 Million Books 3 Billion Comics and the new Action Figure Discount Fire Wood. the point is, if you are not a main character or important to the story your ship's shield is either zero or negative, but if you are one, your ship's shield is equal to infinity and beyond
You can't deny the fact that not all Rebel pilots were skilled Imperial defectors. There are pilots who were just ideals with doubted skills. But hey, compared to the Imperials, the Rebels are more pragmatic to select a pilot. Because they lacked enough manpower.
I always thought the A-wings in rebels weren't the A-wings we see in ROTJ. Instead I though of them as the R-22 Spearhead, the predecessor of the A-wing, but I think I'm wrong

What makes it even more messed up Is Tie fighters Can Destroy Bigger Ships in 3 Hits! I am convinced they swapped they tie fighters weaponry with the star destroyers, Because The Destroyers don't do squat.
What we can observe here are two rarely seen imperial space vessels, the TIE Fatter and the Imperial Neckstretcher, variations of the TIE Fighter and the Imperial Star Destroyer. Those two special types of vessel were deployed in backwards regions because there the Empire didn't need to keep up appearances.

The red flags were in the clone wars how Dave filony nerfs his villains to hell that we see in rebels and the mandalorian besides maybe 3 villains that filony likes (usually his OCs because we know how terrible he treats villains like grievous) he gives them a bit of competence
I always preferred clone wars because the battle were way bigger. Also, it was capital ships vs. other capitol ships. In Rebels, you have small frigates and a discount Milenium Falcon destroying fleets of cutting edge star destroyers. Just makes no sense.

A small rebel ship (most likely with poor weaponry compared to military class items) managed to penetrate the shields of a military ship that carrries fighters, weapons and maybe other things with a few blasts, while receiving heavy fire from bigger guns and the shield sustained all of it.

18:50 really shows a recurring problem with the space battles in this show. That Blockade Runner should make mince meat of those fighters. it's what they're designed to do, it's their role in battle. But it just sits there, does nothing, gets horribly crippled after only 2 shots from a single tie fighter and runs away in flames. SO pathetic.
Clone Wars had a similar problem throughout the show too. I like Clone Wars more than Rebels, but let's not pretend like CW handled plot armor any better.

That Arquitens-class cruiser didn't even take the explosion in a critical area. Apparantly all you need to do now to take down an Arquitens is to blow up the port prong, which apparently takes down all of the repulsorlifts, engines, and reactors :\

@@isaiahlee2902 I know this comment is like two years old, but the only justification I could come up for this is when the bomber exploded, the ordinance it was carrying caused that blue explosion and knocked out the cruisers systems, and then it fell to the planet because of gravity. That's sort of what I think happened, as no way was there anything critical in that part of the ship
When the Falcon was against Star destroyers it was because they were being chased and have no control over it, with how many times this one ship is up against star destroyers it feels like they are just asking for them at this rate.
Considering how effective they are against the imperial frigates, you woukd think the CR-90s would fire their weapons more often

In Disney Canon (Rebels and Battlefront 2 specifically) they use Gazanti cruisers wayyyy too much. Those are mass-produced civilian frigates, and retrofitting then for military combat is a waste of time for the Empire when they could just produce actual military freighters and frigates. Seeing Goazanti’s so much is annoying, especially how they’re used, it’s fine if it’s one or twice to deliver cargo, but carrying AT-AT’s out in the open or wasted resources to carry 4 TIE Fighters is just stupid...
It would make more sense if it was the Rebels arming the civilian craft instead of the Empire... cause that's kinda what they do.

In Star Wars The Clone Wars, even if the inconsistency in the ships was blatant, at least the battles seemed to be in real time.

Some engagements are nice but most of them are just ruined by plot armor. The best thing about this serie is the ships both from the Empire and the Alliance. The medium warships like frigates, corvettes, cruisers and small scale offensive operations are the things the series depicts the best. Also the destruction of most of the Alliance's ships at the end of season 3 is quite a severe and beautiful thing to see ;)

. Rebels revamp the A wing for it to be a special anti interceptor ship, and that's the version we see in SW 6.
. If you remove plot armor every tie fighter design is better than rebel ships. Shields are mainly for swift jumps in hyperspace/ atmosphere entering. Look in star wars II and III how the shielded starfighters as the ARC-170 get absolutely destroyed in seconds. Shields are also for deflecting small debris. But you can survive like 2-6 more shots, which considering the rate of fire of laser cannons and the fact that once you're locked you're pretty much fucked, tie fighters are actually a smart design. No need for shields giving the sheer numbers.

You can't deny the fact that not all Rebel pilots were skilled Imperial defectors. There are pilots who were just ideals with doubted skills. But hey, compared to the Imperials, the Rebels are more pragmatic to select a pilot. Because they lacked enough manpower.

What we can observe here are two rarely seen imperial space vessels, the TIE Fatter and the Imperial Neckstretcher, variations of the TIE Fighter and the Imperial Star Destroyer.
