@@polskarkLame new republic nerd here if you wanna make fun of me, star destroyers are really not that effective, although being an intimidating ship, they have an obivious weak spot on their obivious bridge, and with that obivious bridge, if a starfighter shot the bridge while the ship's shield is off, there is no way they could control the ship anymore, example the executor class star destroyers, although its just an assumption, you can watch exchartsladder for this kind of thing, oh and also, star destroyers cannot fully fire everything from the front, the main batteries were placed on the sides, not really close to the bridge
Oh, and with the fact that its actually a battlecarrier, just like the venator, it has to sacrifice some armaments in order for them to add an additional "hangar" under the ship, this proves ISDs as not really an effective vessel, rather an intimidating one, compared to its new republic counter part, the Nebula Star Defender, This vessel is build to be able to deal with ISD 2 on a 1v1, with 65% the size of an ISD, it actually brings alot of advantage for this vessels, and since its more of a fighting ship than a battlecarrier, and the fact it could take down and ISD 2 while being smaller, the Nebula class Star Defender is a formidable battlespaceship
Yeah, it’s a pretty ship/class; so unique and almost perfect for a forward role commanding a nice squadron of ISDs. Personally, the Eclipse is my favorite. I don’t think it has the stature of the Executor, but it’s so versatile as a command ship. Its mass and weaponry is so awesome, especially with the Super Laser - although it seems to be a design flaw that the ship needs to be fixed on its target. Not good when disappearing capital ships, but probably fine for taking out cities and small moons, as well as wreaking havoc on planets. It seems to me a good choice tactically for taking over star systems when it’s not economical or practical to move a Death Star (or a Supremacy ship/station) there. Ok, maybe taking this a little too seriously.
True. One can say a lot of negative things about the Sequels, and a lot of it justified. But at least we got the Resurgence-class, which DOES look amazing.

Before I pitch my little fit, I want to tell you your compilations are APPRECIATED!! With a few exceptions where the acting and dialogue is worthy of participating with the story, (notably all of Rogue One, various scenes, of course all of ANH) I much prefer watching these space battle scenes without suffering any of the juvenile discourse that doesn’t contribute to plot - especially where young vader has lines to read. Thank you, great job, and I’ve been stuck binging on your most excellent work. Now, on to my rant - which has NOTHING to do with your episode, as will become obvious. I will NEVER understand how the Destroyer’s targeting computers can be so unbelievably inaccurate! I guess it’s not that big of a deal to the story - kinda like seemingly all stormtroopers shoot for shit - but still. I’d expect their aim and fire to be so exact, so rapid, that a single round could be placed with such precision to take out a cannon emplacement, radar dish, engine or hyperdrive or shield component, an R2 unit, and so on - and on a maneuvering ship! Like…like…like how our Navy, Army, and Air Force can, with artillery, aircraft and tank and shipborne cannon and machine guns, lasers, missiles, sniper rifles, need I say more. Heck, even the Coast Guard…! I know, I know; this happened far away and long ago, so the Empire/Rebellion/Republic ‘might’ not have technology as sophisticated as ours 😮is today - valid point, I get that. But damn, even plain old iron sights might help. And of course the dreadnought broadsides between capital ships is a mainstay, and the amount of damage these ships can tolerate is incredible. Which makes it silly that a hit or two from an X-Wing can take down an Executor. Don’t get me wrong; the ship knifing into the DS2 is iconic! But the execution of the execution of the Executor was a bit preposterous. But, we’ve got what we’ve got. Carry on.

I love the Venator. Although individually less powerful than an Imperial class, the huge fleets of fighters they carry, plus all the embarked clones, and the sheer numbers of them in Republic fleets suggests to me that an Imperial fleet vs. a Clone/Jedi fleet, the Imperials would not stand a chance. (The Imperial fleets under Tarkin were hell bent on saving money, rather than maximising potency.)
