Such an amazing verse.
I'm a bit flabbergasted by this. It's like a full Phil Spector Wall of Sound version of a great indie rock tune, performed live by a four piece. Masterful.
I just saw them open for The National last night- they put on a fantastic show. Definitely a fan now.

Like this song and the band quite a bit and live in this studio, well, nothing sounds any better. Whenever good musicians come here and play, their studio album stuff is usually rendered comparatively .... not nearly as good. :) There were two moments in the song where I wish the instrumentation would have "taken off" into more out-there extended takes, maybe adding about two minutes to the whole thing. Nonetheless .....
Not a huge fan, enjoyed this way more than the NPR Tiny deal acoustic set.

@@chrispolo840 , I too am from Aotearoa/NZ, I love many of our Lo cal Artists, esp Hip Hop, ,ie, Avantdale Bowling Club, in fact all things Tom Scott, from Homebrew on, Julian Dyne, Razia Biza, Jess B, Team Dynamite, (old skool wise, Dam Native, Upper Hutt Posse, etc)
Indie wise, Dick Move, Na Noise,most of the artists from the independent label 1:12, Aldous, (0Old skool, Darcy Clay, some flying Nun, early Clean, Snapper, King Looser, Toy Love, Skeptics, The Gordon’s, & a lot more!)
There is a certain kinds of Indie, that I find really bland, wouldn’t be fair to name names, & each to their own etc!!
Our hip hop scene is highly under rated, underfunded,& receives the least coverage by sites like 13th floor, etc!
As a country we punch way above our weight!
