Thanks for this Nate! 👌🏻
It's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to do anything but root for this band. Excellent musicians, wonderful compositions and, most importantly, seemingly beautiful people.
Saw a recent show here in Phoenix, AZ, and they were genuine and kind chatting with fans, myself included, after the show. First saw them on KEXP and thrilled to have seen them twice live.
@@smullaney84 brain dead comment. Nothing wrong with backing tracks or dancers. Autotune dude get over yourself artists use autotune so they can record vocals easier or get them to sound just how they want what's the issue with that? And guitars + drums yeah awesome for sure but other instruments exist and so do great songs that don't feature either.
listening to alvvays on spotify, and the beths came in randomly, thank you spotify, listening to the beths non stop since
I'm seeing The Beths open for Alvvays tomorrow in Oakland
Definitely one of my current favorite drummers. A few weeks ago I was walking down the street towards the venue they were playing that night and Tristan was walking just in front of me towards their bus. I'm 53 and on the outside was cool and calm, but inside, I was like a giddy 13 year old girl.
The Beths! Such great constructed songs. They sound great live too.
I can't believe how electric their sound is! I found them from their recent NPR concert. HOLY SMOKES, didn't realize they shredded too! WOO!
I saw them in Vancouver in July for my birthday lasy year and was so blown away by the live experience!! I still think about how good that concert was.
The Beths + KEXP + Cheryl Waters ❤❤❤ Damn, Jonathan's guitar tone here is spot on!
Silence is Golden’s guitar solo is the closest someone’s gone to sounding like Jonny Greenwood on Paranoid Android since, idk, MAYBE Banquet by Bloc Party?
Great guitar work.
Much more confidence than the first time, bravo!
Love these dudes. Great indie pop rock songs that actually made me care about indie pop rock songs again. Jonathan is the secret weapon. Love his playing and hectic solos.
Been waiting for a live version of I told you that I was afraid. Banger
Holy hell! They feel like a band I’ve known my whole life. Just discovered them and am in love. Thanks KEXP and The Beths!
Psssst, man . Check out their live album recorded in Auckland. Have fun ;)
@@VasinYaroslavWill do! I started saving their stuff to watch later. That is one of them. Thanks for the recommendation. Best,
I just love The Beths, they're the band I tell anyone about when they ask what I'm listening to lately, they're the show I don't hesitate a second to buy a bunch of tickets to because I know I'll want to bring a bunch of friends, they're great and fun and their banter is even improving!
first time hearing them-seems like a new lifetime favorite
Uhm the silence is golden gave new life and meaning to music. It’s like it renewed my belief in new possibilities for sound and the feeling it produces. Very cool thanks yall
It lowkey reminded me of some of the innovative songs The Beatles made back in the days
The Beths remind me those great 90s bands! Nice sunny rock songs!
Thanks for featuring one of my favorite bands! I still haven’t gotten to see them live, but this gets me pretty close to that experience.
Yeah.. First time listener of The Beth’s.. I have to say .. Very impressive !! I listen to a lot of KEXP live jams.. So glad you guys found me !! 😊
I get chills every time i listen to The Beths, I can't express how much I adore them, they're amazing.
Can't wait to see them supporting The National this summer! I mean, come on, what an amazing lineup.
That's a dream combo!
It's a no brainer
Thanks for hosting The Beths on the show!!
Awesome band
you might like a band called the doublejumps if you the beths. they are my two favourite bands and BOTH are from new zealand!!! i've just got to spread the word about these bands!! ❤
This performance really shows how well they harmonise vocally and instrumentally 🎼 Also the new songs are great!
Great performance. Just love the Beths.

geniunely such a fantastic album. I really hope that the beths see the success they deserve!
Man this band writes killer songs and all of them are such intelligent players, always providing the perfect parts for each other to play off of.
Adding one more The Beth’s Lovers today🙋🏼♂️🇨🇦. Thank you once again KEXP🌎🎶♥️
First time seeing them. Singer is lowkey shredding all the time, it rules.
Love the Beths
Amazingly constructed 👍 The Guitar Riff Touches ur Soul. They know their instruments very well. And Kudos to the Sound Engineers of Kexp, They always Rock. They must have had a Hell lot of Fun with The Beths in the Studio. They Sound so so Amazing Especially the Guitars OMG😱 n listening on my Sennheiser HD 650s feels like I'm on Nirvana.
I'm from the uk and came here because I'm a big Beths fan.
I hadn't come across Cherly Walters before but she seems like a good egg and I can see she takes a genuilne interest in the bands she as on here radio station. She also asks really good questions and gives the band space to talk.
Lovely Beths;)
Love me some Beths!
Love the Tux hat. Having lived away from Aotearoa for six years now, it was a funny little touch of home.
Go Beth and her Beths
Seeing the performance from 4 years ago and then this now, I am amazed at the improvement, especially the improvement in confidence. The transformation from awkwardly nervous to confident is so great to see. But the main thing about this band is that their music has and always will be amazing ❤
I love the bass entry.
Love The Beths 사랑합니다. kexp 나와서 너무 기뻐요. +_+
I like The Beths.

I love this band so much. Like Trouser Press said about The Mekons, you wish your friends were this cool, talented and interesting.
Tight!
Brilliant set. An awesome band, their Tiny Desk concert didn’t do them justice. Best gig of my life seeing the Beths (and Hans Pucket) with my son at the Dome in North London a few years back. 👏👏👏
Dunno - the Tiny Desk is what got me interested in them and now I’m 100% hooked! Love them!
good stuff!
Wow
Vibe = 🔥🔥🔥
Just discovered them and bought the new album. Can't stop listening to it!
great stuff!

I'd like to draw the attention at the headstock of the bass. It has the most beautiful shape of all headstocks I have ever seen. I guess this is an 80s Ibanez. I have an 80s Cimar bass which has the same shape. (Whatever the relationship was between Ibanez and this mysterious brand of Cimar...) This is peak headstock design!
I've been waiting for this!!1
New Zealand Baby!
the new songs are great
yessssssssssssssssss

"Mostly it starts with me and my guitar and my sad thoughts and my notebook." Fuckin iconic 😂
These guys are so charming and funny and humble - more solos for Jon!
Love from your neighbours in the Yugambeh language region across the pond!
Great band, pure talent
I Told You That I Was Afraid, is actually a fucking banger. for some reason hit harder on here than the album.
Just snapped up some Liverpool uk tickets, can’t wait!
I think The Beths could be the real Wyld Stallyns. If anyone could bring peace and harmony to the universe I think they can. No pressure.
I wish i had friends

At 51 this band is making me pogo round my house
they're universally love, because I'd say it's hard to hate a best that are this catchy, positive and charismatic. You have to be a particularly spiteful person to hate The Beths.
This is one of those bands where if you like this genre of music at all, it's impossible to dislike them.
Or if you just like music!
Make me want to move to New Zealand.
The fuckkng meaning behind expert in a dying field is the saddest shit I’ve had to face today
Same dude. Hard same.
New Zealand's answer to CA. "Eric's Trip" 30 years later
The Beths and Slow Pulp are really hot right now

@@funlittlefish thaks for the suggestions. you should check out Sidney Gish
Sick Dear Nora shirt
I am so glad that Liz does not waste her beautiful voice on shallow guitar or piano pop music but makes some amazing, kick-ass rock music with it. Amazing performance!
I love that Bird made it to this performance. Vital to get the true Beths experience.
That fish is making me nervous... Great band also
Hmmm..there's definitely something fishy going on here...But I like it!!

Sidney Fish is the 5th Beth!

alright no one is talking about it so i gotta ask what's with the big fish
It's from their album cover image, and they turned it into their mascot
Because why not?
Blistering
I think there's a big fish in the room 🤨🐟
I dare The Beths to make a bad song
Fish
Does this mean bands like fall out boy and panic at the disco are actually cool?
I feel like Jonathan is attempting to make long hair with a receding hairline fashionable.
It is. Whair have you been? Anyway - anything good enough for Eno...
If you put off your 'cool' hat - inside - we can see your face.
I found this band last June, I have listened to them every day since, I'm 45 this year, 1993 was the last time I was this excited by music, and the Beths are the forerunners for me. Any of their songs would stand out on a mix tape of pixies, buffalo tom, juliana hatfield, Husker Du, Seam, Pumpkins, Breeders, Sonic Youth, Lemonheads, drugstore, neutral milk hotel, iron and wine and so on and so forth. They made me love music again, NEW MUSIC!!!
Ha! Also discovered them last June and I'm also 45 years old. I just wrote a comment on the gram saying if this was released in 1994 they'd have been on top of the frigging world. \m/
Reminded me of Teenage Fanclub at their best also.
Thank you for that list you gave
I'm in my 60's and these guys fill my heart with joy and make me feel like a teenager again.
@@lochinver1929 the songs are brilliant, but the production (also them) just has THAT sound, like the wrecking crew are actually playing it, in the old days. The sound is addictive!
they really never fail to absolute amaze me, so tight and well written...
The Beths need to be way, way more popular! people are sleeping on such a great band!
I’ve seen them live twice now, and they never fail to amaze me
I don't say that much, but they are, so to speak, cute
Epic! Cheryl brings us the good stuff.
@@funlittlefish Thanks
My Friday night is not wasted 🎉 Thanks KEXP, Thanks The Beths!
Once I saw them in Berlin when they were fairly new, they were so cute and shy, it's great to see these lovely indie bands live
Thank you for having them on. I almost caught them in SF at the Fillmore , but ever since Live Nation took over, tickets for $30 shows get bought immediately by resellers who are trying to sell them for $85 :( Fillmore is under the weather. Horrible. Maybe I'll write a song about it.
Fuck all the live nations/ticket masters
Truly The Beths band of all time.
-red.
yaaay my favourite dudes! can't wait to see them live again!
The Tux bucket!! 💯 🇳🇿
Can't get enough of The Beth's!!!
i love this band
Wow, Sean from Hot Ones is a truly talented drummer!
