- These tires came with my Norco Torrent A2. I thought I should do a little review on them now that I have had a ton of time riding them.
For more info on the tire, compounds available check out their website: www.schwalbeti...

Thank you IvanMTB I recently purchased a polygon siskiu t8 that came with 27.5 x 2.6 Hans Dampf tires
Schwalbe is pronounced shh-wall-bee thanks again you have given confidence these will last.
No problem! They’re a great all around tire and a good baseline bc they are great at everything. Then your next tire you can see which route you want to go. More grip/enduro vs faster rolling/xc or loop things right in the middle!
Haha thanks! I know I was butchering “schwable”.
I just got the Hans Dampf in the rear and Mary upfront. Passed on the Maxxis since I wanted something different and they’ve performed well, even in the snow
That’s awesome! I have been thinking of getting a Mary up front as well and saving both Hans Dampf for the rears. I put the Kryptotals in soft/Enduro casing on my Trance and they have been phenomenal. I’m tempted just running these down and going Conti’s for my Torrent for my next set.
@@ivanmtb00 I was actually contemplating conti’s and schwalbe. In my opinion I think Maxxis are good, but they’re not the only tires and wanted something different. So far I’ve been happy but might jump on the contis next 🤝
I couldn’t agree more. I was going to do the Assegai/DHR II combo but a friend of mine swore that the Conti’s are amazing. He’s tried more tires then I have so I took his word for it and happy I did. Another part of me wants to try out the Mazza’s.
Seems like there is a ton of good tires these days.
@@ivanmtb00 I thought about mazza too! If you get them, a review would be much appreciated !
@@masanchez34 if I pick them up I’ll post up a review for sure. I might go with whatever is cheapest between the Mazza, Kryptotal or even the Assegai/DHF combo. The Kryptotal seem to roll the best out of all those
Good stuff ! Thank you ! I run all Schwalbe tires ! Love them !
That’s great! They make some awesome tires. I have recently tried the Continental Kryptotals on my Full Suspension and they have been excellent!!
Got these a few weeks ago, 2,60 x 29 inches, speedgrip, folding.
The bike was supposed to have Smart Sam wheels, but I now think these are just as good, possible even better (speaking for asphalt/road conditions). Also their price seems to be a bunch higher in shops.
They are on an eMTB Cube Stereo Hybrid 120 SLT 750.
Im at polar circle, so here has been snow and ice, wet, and dry roads, I even biked to the top of a downhillskiing slope. But not yet on sea ice, bco. I doubt their limit of grip will end there quickly... The wheels seems to deal quite well with it all, even uphill trails, some of the wet/snow on ice gets too slippery though. So better have those ice spikers for the previous condition or for a frozen lake / sea.
Bonus is that they are quiet compared to most mtbs or fatbikes Ive met.
That’s awesome, they’re a great all around tire. The Hans Dampf are definitely more of an off road, trail/light enduro tire while the Smart Sam is designed a bit more towards recreational riding on hardpack, tarmac etc.
If your dealing with ice you will really like the Ice Spiker Pro’s. I have been extremely happy with mine. I did a review on those as well. Here is the link if your interested: ruclips.net/video/rRvY6ciejhU/видео.htmlsi=6D07hMLqMvBCi3QD
Thanks for watching and reaching out!

"The Hans Dampf are definitely more of an off road, trail/light enduro tire while the Smart Sam is designed a bit more towards recreational riding on hardpack, tarmac etc."
It would seem so on the surface.
But the Schwalbe page actually says that Hans are better at rolling as well. (!?)
But they really seem quite ok for that kind of a profile, and I think low noise is an indicator for that as well.
Sure, 30kph (non-assited) is a work to do for that kind of heavy bike. I used to do such speeds >40kph over 10+ kms, on a regular mtb when I was still in army, but those times are kind of in the past now.
I'll watch the video tomorrow. Its way past midnight here already.
@@i7Qp4rQ I had a look at their website and it looks like the HD Supertrail/Speedgrip tire matches the rolling resistance of all 3 compounds available for the Smart Sam. That’s pretty impressive considering the grip it offers.
Sounds like a great workout! I can see where a fast rolling tire would be nice to have with a heavy bike!
Hey Great edit..
ive been running the Hans dampf for almost 3 years on my Hardtail. the speed grip ones.
there a excellent tire..i had a side wall hole on the rear for almost a year and 3 inch nail and they never lost any pressure 😊 untill the nail pierced the rim tape 😂
but your 100% correct about the grip in the corners..gives you so much confidence.
but id definitely consider them on my full suss when the magic mary and big betty ware down.
Thank you! That’s awesome I’m glad you like them! I think I’ll go a tad more aggressive for my next set on the hardtail. These are fantastic all-rounders, but then again they were designed for haha.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
acabo de adquirirlos para mi bici de trail 140mm 130mm atras según mis cálculos deberian ser perfectos para la popuesta de mi trek fuel ex
That’s awesome! They’re a great all around tire. I think you’ll like them!
How do you think they would do on an ebike conversion? merida big 7, xc, with bbshd bafang...
They seem like a good light trail option that could handle boulders and roots, but I would be doing a lot of road to get to places to camp too.
How are they like in wet and damp conditions, it looks like mud doesn't stick too badly but hard to tell from here..
It sounds like they would be a great tire for what your planning to ride. They were designed to be a Jack of all trades master of none. As far as in the wet I hear they clear well and do pretty good. It will depend on what kind of dirt you have. We have a ton of clay here so no matter what tire you have eventually the clay wins and your tires stop spinning.
Shwayble? It's Schwal-Beh!
Haha I knew I butchered it! Thanks!
Sh wal beh
Haha thanks! I knew I was butchering that!
Shwall B
Haha! I knew I was butchering it! Thank you!!!
It's swolbe
Haha I think that was on the Pinkbike Podcast wasn’t it?
Terrible audio.
Thanks for the feedback! I just changed a few things with my next video. Hopefully it’s better
