As a new potential rider, this video series is definitely a confidence booster to take the MSF course and get my first bike
I have to agree with you. I already know how to ride a bicycle and know how to drive a clutch vehicle. However, a motorcycle is something I never done before so I have been very nervous. These videos are boosting my confidence that I can do it.
Finally have the kids raised, I’ve retired and I now have the luxury to learn to ride. Taking the class and practical this weekend. These videos are a confidence builder instead of walking in stone cold with a bunch of strangers. Thanks for sharing brother.
Even as a seasoned rider, its still great practice and an even better refresher. Its crazy how easy we develop bad habits. I often have to revert back to the basics. Looking forward to the rest of the lessons!
I live down the street from a motorcycle school. I went to their lot the other day and saw the box.
I did much better during the course than I did the other day. Yea... I’m going to start stopping by that lot for practice.
These videos are extremely helpful. Planning to take the course in the next month and praying to b riding soon. My biggest issue is fear. I know I can do it but my fear is what gets in the way.
i passed my MSF but these videos are always great to still watch for refreshers
I just watched your 3 videos yesterday and they are the best, amd now youre doing a new serie? I love this channel
My class is in November at Patriot Harley Davidson in Virginia thanks to you I would of just went to a local community college but it’s my life and I want the more extensive class and my life is worth it .
I'm glad you have this on your channel. Makes it easier for some of the guys. You got me hooked with your first how to ride series. I literally am about 2 weeks away from getting my first bike.
Updates ?
@@adamhicks24 it took me a bit while longer but I picked up a less than 3500 mile forty eight. Had some tasteful mods but I need to get a different seat for ot.
@@camdonfriedrich49 cool man was it difficult to learn to ride
Lol Thanks Block, I’m like 3 days out from taking my MSF course so these vids are coming on just in time. 👍🏽
I took the Harley MSF course in 2018. I didn't ride for a couple years, so I'm just getting a refresher because I really want to get back into it this year. You've played a huge part in building a passion to ride for me. Thank you for continuing to be here, inspiring new, intermediate, and long-time riders to pursue this lifestyle.
I am going to take a class end of March. I was super nervous about it, but I have been binging your videos for 3 days now and now I am excited about it and much more confident. Thank you so much for doing videos like this for those of us that really need that extra boost.
How was it? I'm set for March also. 2023 lol.
Thanks BLOCKHEAD! I go for my class at the end of the month, and this was a great help showing me what to expect. Keep up the awesome videos
How'd you do
I’m a brand new rider. I take the class soon and I feel like these videos are giving me a good idea of what to expect. Good content.
That's awesome you're going out of your way to educate people. The easier it is the more people we'll get, and the more people will understand what riding really is. 👍hopefully it will help them understand when they drive their cars too. Lol.
After this series Blockhead, go over to Tampa and take Jerry Palladino's 'Ride Like a Pro' course. Think that would be cool of you two getting together on and collaborating on riding skills.
Just finished today, Jon and Matt are great instructors. Seminole Harley 💯
Wow brother right on the money I've been thinking about taking this course to learn to ride but family says it's dangerous. Will be going on the 30th
Finally going to take my msf course this weekend so siked
How'd it go? I have mine this weekend 😊
Bunch of very nice people and knowledgeable instructors
I found Blockhead channel before I had my bike trying to find basic how to handle a motorcycle videos, and there it was, which year was it... Blockhead on the Iron, on the parking lot explaining turning the bike on, where is the clutch, the gears, how to get going etc. That's why I'm glad you're into instruction videos again now that even I own a bike and still consider myself a beginner (year and a half of riding, cca 8000miles on the twisty roads of Croatia). Keep it up! Repetition is the mother of knowledge. RS/SV
Block, I watched your older videos teaching on your now famous Iron 883 and it really gave me confidence in learning. Fast forward and I’ve been riding two seasons after getting my endorsement and love feeling how it comes so natural now!
So a big thanks to you and so happy to see you still helping people get into motorcycles! You’re still the same Block- only with a lot more subscribers Lol. 👍
already passed my bike control exam, but love watching your videos.
your "how to ride a bike" series really helped me out at first, as I only had experience with my automatic moped and manual car.
I've learned so much from your videos! I'm gonna take the MSF class soon. Thanks for all the videos!
All this footage is so vital. I will admit to having a bit of jitters as I will soon take my class. Watching this to see what I will be expecting eases me out a bit. THANK YOU.
Thanks for the beginner series! I'm going to be taking my basic MSF course at a H-D dealer near me. Might sound a little crazy, but...IDK, mid-life crisis I guess, lol. I'm 55 years old. I rode some years (and years) ago, mostly trail bike. Just a few spins on my brother-in-law's road (sport) bike. Just married, kids were little at the time, so it didn't seem like a great idea to buy one. I just got the bug a couple of months ago. My wife's dad, brother, cousins, etc. all rode (some still ride). It looks fun, exciting, freeing. My buddy who taught me to ride a trail bike said, it's the closest thing you'll get to flying without leaving the ground.
Mr block head please upload more how to ride videos, i would really appreciate it!
After putting off getting my licence for 13+ yrs, I watched last weeks video and it made me ring my local trainer (Australia) I rang at right time and got a booking next day (canceled booking) I got my learners now, sadly trying to find a LAMS approved cruiser will cost me an arm and a leg, they don’t drop in price even second hand. But can’t wait to cruise around on 2 wheels.
really appreciate this video. looking to start my MSF course later this month.
I am learning because my husband bought me a 2021 sport glide as a present.
15 years old just got my first motorcycle. this course is helping lots. thanks 👍
what bike you get?
@@cadenlagestee9160 due to morocco’s specific limitations, i’m only legally allowed a 150cc.
Got so excited to see the part two on my subscription list! Thank you for these videos!
The BEST information I've seen yet for beginners. I've watched hundreds of videos on the topic. You do a GREAT job explaining the process. Very helpful. I wish this dealership was here in my state.
I loved that class it's what finally got me to switch from sportbikes to cruisers
as a new rider its very helpful to review. highly recommend the MSF course
Just commuted to work for the first time on my bike today. Preparing to take the class in the Spring when it warms up here in the North East. These tips are going to be very helpful, much appreciated!
Love your vids. I'm in Canada but even this helped me see what to expect for the learning to ride courses offered where I live. It is nice to be able to have this to refer to even after!! Thanks! Keep it up.
Hey, when u come to a stop, do you remain in first gear until you come to a complete stop and then shift into neutral or do u remain in first gear the whole time? A scenario would be like a stop sign where u come to a quick complete stop and then continue driving. In this scenario, would you shift to neutral at any point or would you stay in first gear all throughout the complete stop and then the reacceleration?
great video .this type of content attracts new riders and your channel isn't just technical talk where newbees like me can get lost or maybe even embarrassed to ask a question .
I'm loving these videos! I've been interested in riding on and off again for the past several years and I finally want to just do it and this is so great at showing what to expect in a riding course!
I haven't ridden a motorcycle since college. I not only need a refresher, I would like to have a motorcycle so I can have something that's for my mental health to enjoy and have a getaway to go ride once in a while. Also, I would love to work on the bike and involve my kids and when they are old enough to be passengers, take them on short rides. Which would be a cool video (if you haven't done it already), riding with kids (what age is best, etc...)
I'm taking the msf course tomorrow and I'm nervous. I stumbled across this to ease my mind. I've never ever ridden a motorcycle. I rode bicycles my whole life and wanted to try motorcycles.
I dig this video series! Great reminders for when I teach my kids how to ride soon.
These vids act as a good refresher.
Took a class a couple weeks ago, but on a DPS loaner Honda grom. Mine in particular was weak and would get cold rather quickly, so a lot of the low speed maneuvers had to be done while giving it like 3000rpm and just playing with the friction zone to keep the speed low. It stalled out a lot, I couldn’t let the clutch out more than half way without some throttle. 🤦♂️
I felt like a noob having to rev up the engine the whole weekend just to get it to go anywhere.
Good to see you highlighting the clutch usage and use of the throttle, or lack there of, even on these small harleys.
Awesome video!! I turn 16 soon, and I’m planning on getting a smaller bike so I can ride with my dad and older brother.
These videos are helping refresh what I learned at the MSF course. I got my first bike almost a year after taking it so I’ve been nervous about driving her. These videos are helpful. I’m taking her out tomorrow. I got a Yamaha Bolt.
Just registered for Harley new rider classes!. Watching these is helping me calm my nerves haha.
I watched part 1 and part 2... these are awesome videos. TY... my MSF course is June 5, 6...I'll use these also a guide to get me to past it. What did I get out of them...everytime you ride your practicing...and ride SMART, my guitar has 12 notes...my bike has 5 gears...and practice makes perfect...👍
definitely going for a class soon! Thanks for the video!
I started watching your videos about a year ago. Within this year I went out an took the MSF course at Hotrod Harley in Muskegon Michigan. It was a great class and after 2 weeks I went out an bought my first bike. A used 2019 kawasaki vulcan S. It's not a harley but it's still fun while I get some experience. Thanks for making these videos an do what you do.
Crazy... I remember taking this class and how far I've progressed since getting license. Great video BLOCKHEAD!!
im planning on taking the test at my local Harley dealer . I have not drove a street bike before but i use to race dirt bikes about 15 years ago . im a little scared of them cuz there way heavier then a dirt bike lol . but your videos are helping me out a lot . thank you for doing these videos .
This is cool too watch as someone who recently took the course and honestly I miss it
Ur the best man I can only learn from you for some reason
I look forward to my motor cycle Safety course in December.
I started riding about 20 years ago, but haven't ridden in about 7 years. I'm very keen to get back on a bike and continue my journey, thank you for the great videos! Even though I know how to ride, this is just that quick refresher I need to get my confidence up again.
Love the channel!
Thanks for another great video. I took the MSF course at Alligator Alley, Harley-Davidson in Sunrise, FL. The staff there was patient, understanding and very helpful. They aren't there to criticize, as they know everybody starts somewhere, they're patient instructors who want their students to learn and improve their skills.
Ah, yes - Alligator Alley HD. After lunch at Cafe 27, riding north on I-75/Sawgrass Expry., I pulled over to talk to two riders who had pulled off the road. One of them was fuming angry, on his cellphone. Turns out that he had just bought the $24K bike when it starting giving him trouble on the road - and he discovered that his oil cap was missing, and he had NO OIL in his Harley. So much for "dealer prep" at Alligator HD!!!!!!!
That's just ONE story of poor service/rip-offs I've heard about them. Maybe, just maybe, that's why I ride a Kawasaki...
First time on a bike in my life, msf course at Harley on friday. Super nervous but excited..!
Been riding since I was ten years old thinking about taking theses courses to refresh and old mans skills
I took this class in my state and I loved it once I pass the course I bought my iron 1200. Now thinking about taking the advice class too
i love you bro... patience is your thing!! lol i got yelled at when i took mine for riding the whole obstacle course at one time without putting my feet down and did an accidental stopie lol
Thank you! I am looking for a refresher course
Thanks for these videos they are really helpful. I can’t wait to start my course next week! !
YES! good info again BLOCKHEAD. I agree, this is good info even for seasoned riders. or even people getting backed into it. Thank you kindly!
Love these videos. I’m take the MSF course next month and am super excited but also nervous. This is definitely helping to ease the nerves.
Great videos, thanks for all the helpful information... always wanted to ride a bike, finally took the plunge in attending a class at the end of the month. Cheers from the Treasure Coast!
Hey Block, have you thought of taking the Ride Like a Pro class? Look it up, Jerry has many videos on youtube. It is a modified Police motorcycle course using the same techniques. It is the best class I have taken and I try to take it once a year just to keep sharp.
I enjoy these alot! Its keeping my mind active as the season here in Michigan is turning. Ive wanted to ride for years and either its one thing or another that keeps me from being able to get my endorsement. But,im dead set on next year getting it and im dead set on a Harley. Sporty, because, as my buddy says....baby steps man, baby steps! I have some riding experience but i want this by the book! Anyways,I look forward to riding the country roads through orchard and vineyard territory and in the fall through the tunnel of trees up north by or around Traverse City! Youre doing an awesome Job BlockHead....Thank You!
Thank goodness for this series! I’m officially taking my course in a month. This is going to help me so much when it’s time to do my in person MSF course. I’m currently 1.5hrs into my e-course.
Also I heard some MSF course locations, if you drop the bike you fail? Or is it on the final riding testing day?
Awesome stuff I drove a atv for years but now I'm ready for a street bike
Just saw video #2. Good info. I've been riding for many years, refresher course is always a good idea. Good stuff!
Great video series! Well done!
Really appreciate this video. I look forward to taking this class soon. I just got rid of my manual car a few days ago, so driving a manual will be easy but got to get use to using my hand instead of my foot. This video really helped me better understand the class. Can't wait to see the part 3 of this video.
I have loved motorcycles since 16. I took a course like this and got my license over 10 years ago. When I turned 50, I bought myself a Honda Grom only 125 cc. I am determined to ride out of this life 👍🏻
Yup taking a 2 day course next week, can't wait to brush up on some things I might not be great at ! Plus it's free and you get your license, and a discount on insurance! Why wouldn't ya :p
Thank you so much for this. May God bless you always
So sick to ride the same bikes in the video, passed my test today at seminole HD Sam and Lin were my instructors told em you sent me. So excited to start riding.
My class starts tomorrow, I’m beyond stoked.
great vid broski i want to pick up an sr400 yamaha to save on gas and enjoy riding again. it has been a while since i have ridden. i am going to take this course for that reason
This is a beneficial video, thank you.
Thank you for these videos! Headed to my HD new riders course tomorrow! So excited!
Very helpful bro thank you!
I starting watching your channel and you got me interested in riding. Is been a couple years ago. The video you posted about shifting and working the clutch on the iron 883 i believe was very helpful. I credit you for my interest about motorcycles and in the beginning of 2022 i am going to the harley dealership in Wytheville va, black bear hd and i will be purchasing a bike, maybe the iron or a fat boy, not sure yet and will be taking their riding course. Thank you for posting the videos and your awesome!!
I’m taking the course right now 👌🏽
Great video Blockhead 👍
Great video once again!
PART 3 PLEASE
taking my class tomorrow good timing block
"when youre giving throttle your clutch is all the way out" saved me 😅
Alllsome bro, it is really helpfull for me to be able to mentally prepare for the brc coming up in a few weeks for me. I kinda told my stroie of my very first ride in 1 of ur other vids coments, couldent wait till class to have an idea of what it would, i got it out for a second time last weekend and done much better, went through a few gears and made some good turns, even a a u turn mabey 20ft or so dia idk, but i went a bit more than just around the block this time. well so what made me want to ride, well 1st im 45, and for alot of years i allways wished i had a harley, ive allways been a mountain bike rider so that helps i supose but really i never had anything with a clutch and allways shyed away from learning a clutch, really i had put the idea of ever having a harley away a long time ago, well money was allways a factor as well. well so a couple months ago i happen to see a 2001 fat boy on craigs list that really caught my attention, it looked very nice and was what i thoght was a good price, dident think a whole lot about it the 1st time or so i saw it, but i liked it more than any of the others i saw for what ever reason, well i found myself looking at this bike evey day for the next week or so, and my wife noticed too, she asked 1 day, So you thinkin of getting into motorcycles arent ya? I said, well not really but im kinda doin some reserch about them, cause of this bike i found your vids and a couple others, and thought to myself, the 1 reason i have not ever goten a bike or anything with a clutch is mostly due to the fear of the clutch and the cordination and all that it entails, i thought, well i dident go to martaial arts school to be afraid of trying new things, study and most of all Focus, well so i decided to go look the bike and i loved it, and so i said well, being i dont know how to ride yet, if i get the loan will you ride it to my house for me, yea was kinda embarrasing lol, but he was a cool dude and agreed to meet me at his work which happend to be close to my house, and from there to my house, so yes i got the loan and of course the bike. someone recently asked me why i would buy a bike when i dont know how to ride it yet, for me, if i dident get the bike i would have had a reason to want to learn, yes it may be a bit big power wise and weight wise too for beginer,so im being extrta carfull and doing the classes, and intalled a crash bar, safty gear, and well, pratice pratice. well so thats why and how i have gotten into motorcyles:) agin your videos are great man, cant say enough about them:)
I hope you do the rest of the course
Are there any more parts to this series? Really thankful for the first 2 vids.
This is really great to see, and pretty reassuring. Can't wait for my course in October 🤘
These are great! Is there a part 3 coming soon? I am planning to take a course next spring, and hopefully finish it up to get my full liscense before my learner's expires next June. 😁

Hey, I've been watching your videos for a long time. I'm a MSF\Harley coach in Topeka Kansas. I'm just interested in anything I can use to help any of my students. Thanks for making these videos.
Are you the closest MSF coach to Manhattan? I want to learn to ride, but I’m not sure where to start.
Thank you for this Video :)
Very good video!
good job seminole. got to get by there one day when in the area.
I’m looking to ride cause it seems like a great way of travelling. I think I’d use a bike mainly for long distance trips
I found this channel watching Block’s original how to ride video’s about 6 month before I got my endorsement. That was over 2 years ago yet I’m still watch these. Psst...the originals are better.
im getting one soon
