Et voilà qu’ils prennent vie sous vos doigts, le farouche Florestan, passionné, impatient, et le tendre rêveur, inquiet parfois, Eusebius, ceux-là mêmes qui, sans autre moyen de communiquer directement avec elle, adressent cette sonate à Clara, n’est-ce pas ? Merci de nous inviter si intimement au cœur de l’émotion. Mais qui est au piano ? Robert, Clara ? Béatrice... pour notre bonheur. Il y a incontestablement entre ce Bösendorfer et vous une histoire d’amour de conte de fée...

Magnificent. Such a masterpiece that is a 9 on the verlag scale I believe. Those 2 sections in the final movement have always touched me more than any other sonata sections ever written.

Spectacular! So much to love. Un poco adagio is full of utterly mesmerizing melodies, and you play with a wonderful combination of passion and tenderness that keeps me enthralled throughout. That same combination lights up the Aria, passionate but expressive to perfection. Those are the highlights to me, along with the Intermezzo, but the whole piece is just glorious. Thank you.🤩😍

Very great and sensitive performance, everything coming deep from inside. I admire especially the finale, it's difficult to make a convincing and symphonic unity of it, but here this is achieved seemingly effortless, and everything sounds inspired. A great achievement!

finalement! i thought maybe you had forgotten about all your die hard fans! ;-) just kidding, i am grateful for all your videos, and i have listened to your recording of this, many times. its lovely to see you play it.... i always loved Schuman , but had not heard this until your recording.....today i put on a Gieseking CD of Bach, but at the end a Romantic concerto came on i did not realize was there....i thought....who is this? is it Tsaikovsky? ....it was Schumann.....that Romanticism....excited you will be making a new CD....cuidado,,,,es

I have heard so many versions on this sonata, Sokolov included, but I can tell that this is among the most interesting ones.
