I have test driven all 3: Mercedes EQE, BMW I5 and VW Id.7. For me, the Id.7 is the best overall car. Runs well, nice comfort. Good space in the cabin. A large luggage compartment with good access. This I lacked in EQE and I5. Therefore it became Id.7. And in terms of price, it is still cheaper including all extra equipment than the standard version of EQE and I5.
Design on id 7 is so boring so a no go straight away. eqe and i5 are so much more premium and that's what your paying for not badge snobbery just facts.i don't care if the luggage compartment is slightly bigger if I look at the car and it gives no emotions
@@sunnyd6291 I agree with you about appearance - the Id.7 is somewhat boring in appearance. But I need a practical car and with the Id.7 I can avoid driving too much with a trailer - so it's a compromise! And another advantage of Id.7 is that we have a really good VW partner here in town.
@@sunnyd6291 And since I live in Denmark, where we have extremely high taxes and duties, the more expensive the cars are, an I5 and/or an EQE is about 26,000 Euros more expensive if they are to have approximately the same equipment.
The instrument panel look play-play mostly due to the font. The HUD could a bit more saturation. On more thing, move the front camera off the bumper where it will be crushed the first time someone backs into it when you're parallel parked.
Difficult to fault much, if at a price (my spec would cost circa £60k)! VW have done a better job here than on other ID variants, and hopefully it’ll sell reasonably well.
Test drove one recently, way to noisy on the road, not sure why a lot of people say its refined, and the stupid voice assistant chipping in when you say anything remotely like its name would annoy the hell out of me, so its no.
I would choose the ID.7. The BMW i4 is much smaller inside, it has older infotainment and the aerodynamics are worse and I find the plastic trim on the BMW ugly.
I don't think a potential BMW 5 series would also look at a VW and this ID7 does not have the comfort and handling are not in the BMW league. Only similarity is the size of these two cars. Otherwise a very detailed review.
If they have improved the interior overt the ID4/ID3 then greatr - this is MUCH needed. But the pricing on this is crazy!... even on lease this is high £600s-£700. Just too expensive. I'll wait for the Skoda version, which will be cheaper, more practical, and better interior based on my Enyaq versus ID4. What VW group have deon to early adopters of their EVs regarding software-updates is unforgiveable!... Version 3.x was appalling, no OTA updates at all (all dealer, and not always smooth - I had my Enyaq in for 4 days before they got the update installed)... and V4 is not even available on curren tmodels. VW are losing money and customers hand-over-fist. the Chinese are going to destroy them.
I just don't think this will sell at the price they're asking, it would need to be heavily discounted. The styling alone makes it feel dated and not special. It's an improvement over previous iD models but there are Chinese models that make this look very ordinary. When these finally arrive in the UK Volkswagen will need to be worried.
Vw = bad software not being updated, bad consumption, worst cams almost pixelated. Noosy cabin at 130 km and for a price as a premium even though its excatly the same as a id4 - 5 and so on. Vw in a nutshell. It will lose its value fast.
You’re wrong I’m afraid. New software, cam is okay, not ”noosy” at all. Obviously, you haven’t driven one. Much better value than the BMW and Mercedes where price is really premium.

I love that you don't include crappy music in the background of your videos. And you do a very complete review. Among the best IMO!
Thank you much appreciated, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Interesting that you found the i5 lacked space. But agreed, it is cheaper than those two.
@@TotallyEV Access to the luggage compartment in the EQE and I5 is miserably poor. Id.7 is like a hatchback, the other two like a sedan

I'm craving fpr a sound review from you of the ID.7 Harman kardon soundsystem! plz plz plz
Sorry, don't think it'll happen, but guess you never know! Thanks for the enthusiasm though, much appreciated.
Thanks for review

Guess time will tell, thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It shows 222 miles with 78 percent battery, which doesn't match what it says

Odd you found it loud. You can easily disable the voice guidance and assistant via the infotainment system.

ID7 does not have the comfort? Did you ever sit in it?

The price is crazy compared to what? Certainly not its rivals.
Good lease deals available now 👍

What about the Hyundai Ionic 6? Will it sell? Its priced even higher.
The styling is more adventurous at least and the efficiency is good in Hyundai products. @@krane15
VW group cars are too expensive for what they offer they are not a premium brand !!!!!!!! That's why their sales are so bad for ev cars
Their sales are actually pretty impressive.
NO, the premium brands are $15,000-$20,000 more. Have you been car shopping lately? The average price of a new car is $50k.

Bland and boring. For circa £60k I’d expect something more exciting than a “jelly mould”. 🤓
Thanks for sharing!
Tell us what you would suggest? Even better, tell VW what's bland and boring about it so they can fix it. That would make your criticism constructive.
