lots of gain doesn't always mean heavy, i keep my gain on my 6505 at around 4 and it's very heavy.. a lot of the way your tone will come through is all in your pick attack.. and having the tube screamer is almost essential for the metalcore guitar sound
its a tele ...its not made to play that kind of music plus the tele dosen't have a flat neck so its harder to press the frets its like playing metal on an accoustic...doable but hard...trust me I do It.

Dan Jacobs is the missing Baldwin brother. Dan Baldwin. :O
Didn't catch what Travis said about the tele? Why is it so hard to play???
There is no way they only use a tube screamer or a boss overdrive to make the 1986 marshall Jcm 800 sound so heavy and distorted. Right?
no peavey just pays bands to use them in they're advertisements, he probably 'Owns' one but I'm sure its not the only amp he uses
I thought Jacobs had a deal with and used Peavey 6505's?
69 alright
