Thanks for the video. I own S1 #13. Since there is so little information out there, I appreciate seeing your video and look forward to your review of your S1. Steve W.
Enjoyed your video. How is the S1 in hard turns or autocross vs a Miata for example? I moved away from there in 1985, What track is there today? (GM Proving grounds was still there back then).
The S1 is set up relatively soft at the moment, but I would say it still handles better than a standard Miata - a Cup car would be a different matter. The S1 can be set up to handle extremely well in an auto cross, but that’s what the Westfield is for. There is a new track in Maricopa - Apex Motor Club, check them out on the web
Hi Track Rekord, 1st off hope all is well and you have a beautiful &. I live in Cave Creek and have been looking for some fellow 7's to go take a cruise with. I along with my good friend use to own Deman USA and built the SR27. Powered by a Nissan SR20det pushing 311rwhp at 1420lbs it loves to scoot so if you are ever in the mood we should connect one day.
Best advice is go into it with your eyes open. I bought the Mega S2000 kit which was complete apart from the engine and transmission - I didn’t want all the hassle of sourcing donor parts. The kit was complete with all-new parts, eventually, and factory support was good, but a little frustrating at times, being in the US. Check out my blog here westie-retirement.blogspot.com for the entire story. I would also join WSCC - there are lots of build forums and a great community to answer questions - there is also a FaceBook page now, but the WSCC forums would be my first start. I you want to come and look at mine and have a test drive at the track, you are more than welcome. Just track me down at our website at www.trackrekord.com. Happy to help in any way I can.
great video and a new 7 type for me, iv been into kitcars in the uk since the 80s, having owned and built around 8 or 9, incuding two robin hoods, but have never heard of the south african car, gorgeous looking, and pretty standard spec for uk. Most 7s run 2L engines with ford type 9 boxs, live axle or ford diffs, real shame westfield went bust in june after 40 years in the industry
Thanks. I had never heard of the Superformance either. It's a fun car to drive and pretty comfortable, being wider than the Westfield. I agree it's a shame about westfield going under, but there is still a pretty good community supporting them - only trouble for me here is finding the appropriate parts!
Wow your S1 is pretty much identical to mine. Never seen one like it👌🏻

Thanks, will be getting to that review as soon as it warms up a bit here! It’s good to hear from another S1 owner, there aren’t many of us around.
Agreed. I always mix up the numbers but I’m pretty sure I’m #46 lol 🙌
Nice review, let my son who is six 2 drive my westfield seiw 2.0 in the uk, he loves it. looking at an s2000 this week :-)
Good choice!

Love the video! I live in az also (Tucson) and im getting ready to sell my corvette to build a westfield!
Are you buying a kit or getting one second-hand. I can give plenty of advice if you are building it
@@trackrekord I'll likely be buying a kit, I haven't found many second hand ones for sale. I would love any advice offered!
