    I just completed the Mojave Trail with a all stock 99 with street Michelins. My biggest issue was the exhaust and rear subframe catching rocks. I got real good at driving on the edge to keep from hanging up. It even climbed that rutted up section on the other side of Fort Piute with no problems. Thanks for the ideas on the lift.

    Great looking CR-V 👌🏻
    Just want to make sure I’m understanding the purpose here; the lift kit raises the whole car higher off the ground (so you gain ground clearance), but then the subframe drop lowers the underside of the car again, which results in your body being higher off the ground, so your approach, departure and break over angles are better, but you didn’t really gain any ground clearance now?

    • @crv_tom
      @crv_tom  3 года назад +3

      Basically what's happening is you lifting the body up (4in in my kit) but you need to drop the subframe down or back down a little so that the axles aligned and the steering rack with no issues you're only dropping that down a inch and a half the CR-V already comes with pretty decent ground clearance so it's not too big of a worry but you're allowing the body Thule Tire also creating more flex room for the wheel at least as much as these suspensions can do

    • @SeanRademeyer
      @SeanRademeyer 3 года назад +2

      @@crv_tom So am I correct in saying then that, if you only lift the body by 2.5" (and not 4" like in your case), you don't have to drop the subframe again?

    • @crv_tom
      @crv_tom  3 года назад +3

      Yep you would be good to go there anything about 3in you will want to do a subframe drop although for 2 and 1/2 you were still going to want to do a trailing arm spacer

    Great CRV, but had a few questions about the HRG site. I’m new to modifying cars, and the subframe drop kit only comes for the 97-01 CRV, as well as the lift kit being for the Element. Do all the parts still work properly in a 2004 CRV or would I need to look elsewhere? If so, where do you recommend?

    • @crv_tom
      @crv_tom  3 года назад +1

      I'm not sure what's going on with his website I did see some things were kind of messed up I think hes working on fixing knows but yes if he offers a kit for that make and model it will work just make sure it's for your make and model you won't be able to use other kits without modifying them.

    I heard this my CRV ex has a b20 engine and you can find vtech heads for the suckers.
