Thanks for the info man. Just to to let everyone know, the Klima Clean directions recommends to NOT administer the can via the vents, this can potentially cause damage to HVAC components.
Either access the evaporator core by threading the Klima Cleaner tube through the blower motor OR remove your cabin air filter and access the evap core through there. Another recommendation if the blower motor cannot be remove is to use the evap drain tube at the bottom of the car, which is what I will be doing on my 2013 Audi S4.
Yes, u are right but I have no way of doing those options. So I had to use it through the vents. Worked fine for me though. Even in this hot summer it’s still good.
Good luck accessing both..
Good one Ben. I've always wondered if this stuff actually worked or was hype. I do have a question. What are your thoughts on injecting steam down into the vents? I've seen quite a few steamer videos on RUclips over the years where the user takes the steam wand and injects steam down into the vents until you get dispersion out of the other surrounding vents. Do you think this has an effect on killing any germs down inside the vents? Or do you think it just adds to the problem by injecting water droplets down into the system? I am definitely going to buy a couple bottles of Klima and do all my vehicles just to clean them out. I do agree you on maybe buying a couple bottles a year and just giving the system a once over even if your not getting any smell, it's just like cleaning your seats, or interior, or whatever, just do it as a maintenance item each year and keep the vehicles in top condition.
The steam is really just getting the upper portion the ducts. It dissipates heat so fast it can’t reach far down. When u see it coming out of other vents that’s just for show. No effect at that point.
@@DetailingBreakdown Very good point. I'll definitely be getting some of the Klima to clean out my vents. My cars are a few years old now so they probably need it anyway. I had no idea about turning off the AC 30 seconds before you stop at a location. Good tip.
Joe Van Seeters leave the fan blowing but AC off. It will help with drying up moisture
Did it remove the mold or only removed the smell for a while?
I can’t get to the core so I’m not sure I have mold. But it gets rid of the smell until you start to drive with the AC on day after day and not turn it off a few blocks before u get out. Key is to dry up the condensation before exiting
Just turn the air conditioner off and run the fan only for a few minutes before your destination and let the condenser dry out.
Yes, we try to do that as much as possible but it’s hard when it’s 115 degrees outside. Sometimes you also forget.
Omg you now have ads!!!!! Omg congratulations on 1k subs!!!!!!!!
Hank's Detailing thanks Hank!
Instructions says to put it on the evap or trough drain valve and not the vents. But indeed I thinks it's like almost impossible
If I could I would buy this is all I was able to do
I’ll let the ads play!! I’m detailing now!
Hank's Detailing your the best
Always wondered about this product
Matt Gavin me, I liked it!!!
I did it from underneath but didn't work at all. Probably it didn't reach the evaporator core but probably heater coil instead. Gonna use the other bottle thru the vents and leave it overnight
If you follow the directions it says go through the drain tube. Also says don’t go through the vents…. I wonder why it didn’t work
You got an awesome car. I give you that.
Haha ty
I would never spray that stuff into the vents that way. Most of it probably didn't even make it to the core.
Ur not supposed to do it like this but it was my only way. On my other video I get all the way to the core
It literally says on the can dont use thru air vent
I know but I can’t take the dash apart so this is the easiest way. Thanks for watching
@@DetailingBreakdown so everything was fine after I'm regards to the heating as well?
@@manorhillmusic4285 oh yes, absolutely. It’s the alternative way to get the solution in. Would work way better if sprayed directly onto the evaporator core but like I said, I can’t get there. Some people can go through a hole in the bottom of the car. This way I will have to treat it before and after summer as it’s hot here in Vegas and we can get musky smells while running the AC so much.
Seen that warning and decided to spray from drain tube. Unfortunately didn't work for me so am gonna try again from the vents
Question for ya. I just got this and I’m gonna use it soon on my chev. Does your vehicle not have a drain tube out the firewall. I’ve only worked on gm vehicles and they usually have the drain tube coming right out the firewall. I’ve never worked on a Ford so I’m just curious
Do you need to take out the filter before you do it?
It’s not the filter. It’s a core inside that gets moldy. Not the air filter. If possible, u would want to have it spray onto it as much as possible. That’s why it’s not the best to spray into the vents. Some people go from the bottom of the car into the core.
@@DetailingBreakdown it’s a 2016 mustang and I don’t have a jack or jack stands so I will probably end up doing the vents. I had the ac leak and it’s had a weird smell ever since. Just wanted to know if I should take out the filter just incase. No one ever mentions it so I doubt it.
@@Taino5.0 u should change your cabin filter
@@DetailingBreakdown i already did I put a k&n washable one and then switched back to a regular one and their still a smell in the beginning. I’m trying this now because it still has a bad smell when I first start the AC.
Ya, it’s just the a.c. It gets the evaporator core wet when u run it hard and turn it off right as u get out. U have to turn the A.C off about 2 blocks before u turn ur car off and just let the fan blow. It helps dry any condensation. This product will help but if u keep running the A.C. The way u currently do, the smell will come right back
Funny you did this. The instructions specifically say:
"ATTENTION: Read instructions before using! DO NOT apply through the vents. We highly recommend professional application only. If uncertain about application, have a certified mechanic apply product."
I understand, but it wasn’t gonna happen in that car. In my latest video with the Tesla I sprayed on the core.
That’s exactly how u not do it. Read instructions first.
I said that in the first 2 minutes. Listen to the video. Here is another video if I want to see it where u can get to the core.

It was called 'A/C Enema in a Can", they changed the name, it was too crappy.
