What benefits or challenges do you encounter when you work from home? Share your thoughts, what works/doesn't work for you, and any questions you might have here!
Having the physical separation of work vs home is typically my preference. But since I'm currently in grad school and I live in a quiet apartment by myself, I'd rather do homework at home than fight other students for space on-campus. The lockdown months where I was teaching from home completely destroyed my structure and it was when I realized that something else is amiss with me (I was undiagnosed). I now know that when I re-enter the professional world, I'll have to work somewhere with a strict schedule because I cannot regulate myself if things aren't more structured for me. But I still need the autonomy (that employer sees I'm capable). I've done contract work alongside employment but absolutely cannot be a full-time entrepreneur 😅
@@Heyu7her3 Try reframing some of those things you believe about yourself! "...I HAVEN'T YET LEARNED HOW TO regulate myself if things aren't more structured for me " or "... absolutely cannot be a full-time entrepreneur YET". These are all things you really can learn how to do in ways that work for you. But if you really believe that you can't, you'll be right!
I was soooo glad to hear this - got some easy suggestions to apply today , and realize that that its no wonder i've had so much trouble, disappointment and failures in my WFH 'career' over the past 10+ years!!!! now i can fix those parts - thank you!!!
Interesting talk! 😊 Will keep the moving around while working in mind! If you’re open to feedback: Could you perhaps change the video background in future videos so the automatic subtitles are easier to read? They overlap with the lilac color at the moment. I could follow better if the space on the bottom was free/white. ❤ Following the subtitles help me focus when the videos are longer.
