It is not really up to Puerto Rico to be independent since the education system is so Americanized that the majority of Islanders fear the complete separation from the USA. Keep in mind USA invaded the Island in 1898 and tried to imposed their politics. If you read our history you'll understand better the respect we have to claim as American ciizens.
Because the majority are on the welfare doll and would lose it in the event of an independence. The welfare keeps the populace dormant and away from aspiring from any real political change. But if it were to stop or if it were abundantly more beneficial to go independent, then you would see a move to break away.

I lost my brother for 6 no contact number years when I saw him I wanted act tought like I didn’t care or I saw him yesterday but deep inside me I felt like jumping running crying hugging him for hours sadly that same day I got in a car crash and lasted 33 days in intensive care when I woke up I forgot that I saw him and in my mind I was like fam I haven’t seen my bro for 6 years when I woke up from coma I saw him sleeping next to me he was laying in the flor I lost my memory but not my brothers I forgot my own mom and wife name but not my brother and I didn’t want no one to be with me only my brother knowing that he was next to me use to make me feel so dam secure that I didn’t wanted my mom near me well she wasn’t a great mom rather sadly my brother worry for me when I was grown up more than my mom and dad so that’s why I look at my brother like just someone that I can count on and some one I can feel like a child again cause Ik my older brother even thoe I’m 21 years old and his 28 to him ima always be his lil brother that he use to feed and babysit cause my mom didn’t really care about us
I might move to San Juan, im from Texas and have never been out of the country except to like tourist towns in Mexico. I really don't know if I want to move. Should I look forward to it?

My family lived in Puerto Rico for years, we've lived in (San Juan) MadiSOL, mayaguez, and I believe another one but I can't put my finger on it. I swear my mom/siblings can probably write a book on their experiences being in Puerto Rico. It was crazy. That's pretty much it. the houses were very trashy and ofc since we lived in San Juan (the most dangerous part of pr) there were a lot of gang violence, thankfully my family didn't get involved in that or get hurt from being at the wrong place at the wrong time. My brother whom was like 10 and he would get into fights in our backyard, this one time this boy whipped out his pistola and knocked him in the back of his head and made him bleed. It was crazyy, I really wouldn't suggest planning on moving there. For tourism reasons, yes- it's always nice to see how other countries live like. And Puerto Rico isn't just bad areas, there are nice ones ( ones we sure as hell never went to😭)
I just don't think you should comment that. myself BEING Puerto Rican, and my whole mom side of the family being born their never EVER had a problem with gangs. like any other place you have the rich, middle, and more poor side. Puerto Rico is a very safe place to live, my grandpa has lived their his whole life....
