The Sagrada Familia is the most amazing building I've been in by a mile. The light is truly different somehow. It really does feel so natural and organic it's crazy. It does feel more like it grew than was built. The ceiling in particular is beyond awesome. There are these roses at the intersections of the branches from the trees holding the roof up that shine like little dioramas. Everywhere there are leaves and shells and all the iconography of the natural world. Unsurprisingly given Christianity's heritage it would make a fantastic pagan/wiccan temple. It's literally a Cathedral to nature. It was a completely mind blowing place to visit. It looks amazing from outside but inside is where it's at. The quality of light inside on a sunny day blows you away. I've never experienced anything like it. Just an amazing conception of how a spiritual place should be. Luv and Peace.
Gaudi's one of the few modern Western architects who actually wanted to create something beautiful that uplifts its surroundings instead of creating depression monstrosities and reveling in having littered civilization with eyesores that harm the citizen's mental health. I'm all for innovation and novelty. But that's no excuse to make ugly buildings. Love Gaudi.
I have visited Barcelona twice and Gaudi's work was the highlight by far, also there are some smaller projects of his that are just as magical. Love barca and its people.
A great video: bring the memories of visiting this great city so many years ago. The video is like an elixir of hope that we all survive the pandemic, and all of us who love piece , not destruction , will be able to travel and enjoy the great works of Gaudy and beautiful Spain. To better times!!!
I am from Barcelona, livng just 30 kilometers North.I love my city,I love the work from Antoni Gaudí,he has been just a genius! I miss the tourists in the city...it is very sad what is happening, but let us remain positive. I hope people from all over the world 🌎 will come again to visit Barcelona! Thanks for that wonderful video!
We've been to Barcelona 2 or 3 times and can not wait to go back. We've seen Gaudi's amazing structures, but need to go back for a closer, more detailed look.
If you mix Portland Cement and add pumice stone, you can get a shapable material you can sort of sculpt with as you build, and it bears a load reasonably well.
Thank you for taking me on a tour of these magical structures I wish to see. Until I can experience them in person, these highlights will have to do - well done and good music, too.
An American family found a gift for me when they traveled in Spain - a book of Gaudi's works. A beautiful bird on the Top. "Gaudí worked with Josep Fontserè i Mestre as a draughtsman for the entrance gate to the Ciutadella Park. Upon finishing this project, the Barcelona City Council commissioned him to design the public lighting of two of the city’s squares: Plaza Real and Pla de Palau." - Casa Batllo.
That one house, Casa M--?? that fronts on the street, I cannot imagine all the people walking by it and NOT looking at it. I could walk by that building for centuries and I don't think I could take my eyes off it at any time.
Thank you so much that would help me in my upcoming visit to Barcelona waiting anxiously to see these lovely places Made by Antoni Gaudi the Great architect of Western World one of my favourite
I love the natural form of Gaudi's architecture. Wonder if it was as amazing and relaxing to live in as it is to observe though - I mean, how come these amazing structures, built as community homes are no longer housing. Also, why did the planned community housing development only manage to build 2 houses out of its planned number? I tend toward feeling it's a shame that this quite unique architectural vision, (icon in a good way), was not more fully realised - Anyone know why it wasn't, or what they were like to live in?
Wish you guys would remember that two other Spanish Architects and Mise Vander Rhoh have buildings in the city. If you go 1 hour out of town (towards the French boarder) you will see the Museum and the home of Salvidor Dahli
WOW! What amazing buildings..thanks for sharing. The next time you're headed to Spain, and might need another writer, pop over to Eleuthera to pick me up! LOL...but seriously.
Sherelle Wallace Thank you thank you! Hopefully in the future I can bring a whole travel crew! I appreciate your support especially being Bahamian too. That means a lot. Happy Sunday 🙏🏾
@@TravellersBazaar87 , I don't know if you speak Spanish (or Catalan), so I am confused by your use of the word "osos" to refer to bones. To me, bones is "huesos." Your pronunciation of "osos" made me think of bears, since that spelling is the word for bears. It may be that the Catalan pronunciation is as you pronounced it, but I do not know. Which is why I'm confused. If you have time, opportunity, and see my comment I respectfully request that you clarify this for me. I speak fluent Spanish, but my dialect is a mix of Colombian and Mexican. I have no real information on the various dialects of Spain. The only general quirk that I know of is the lispy pronunciation of the letter "c" in situations where it would be pronounced as an English "s" nearly everywhere else. Thank you for your attention if you see my comment and again thanks if you reply. :)

Barça is the football team. Barcelona is the city. Barna is the shortening of the name of the city.
Thanks for clarifying that.

I hope they never give up maintaining the treasures ... I imagine it would cost a lot and take a lot of work the older they get. Beautiful!
So long as they’re tourist attractions, they’ll be maintained
they are tourist magnets. so money wont be the issue.
Its magnificent
😍😍😍
Bring back this beauty I say!

La más bonita de España.
La más bonita es Sevilla y después Granada, Barcelona está en tercer lugar y Madrid es la majestuosa ciudad con mejores edificios y mucho arte.
