I played in a band back in the early 80s. I NEVER knew what to do at the end of a song with a "big rock and roll ending". Usually it was a bunch of successive fast beats on the bass drum accompanied with cymbals. NOW I KNOW!!! I'll have to get another band together. Great stuff!
Thanks once again Max...you´re really one of the grooviest players I heard. You´re also very simple and to the fact teacher, which I appreciate very much as well. These "small" tips are really helpful cause its on details that a drummer can make the difference. Peace
+Groovy Music Lessons I was trying to make a compliment. I guess it didn't come across how I anticipated. I was trying to say how the pattern seems straight forward and pretty easy, but then he takes it to a higher level when he shows how fast he can do it. It's an amazing example of how something straight forward can be made into something so impressive with practice and skill.
That sounds great.I will try and learn that. It sounds better than what I normally do. I normally end the song with a 2 on the tom followed by 2 on the bass drum, rolling down 3 or 4 toms with the last 2 on the snare and then very last the cymbal and bass drum.I'm enjoying your videos, thank you.
That's a great sounding fill, friend! I recall coming across your video a couple years ago, and to be honest, I've been using that lick regularly ever since. Either as a trash can ending or as a fun linear phrase to spice grooves up. I dig all that dynamic, linear stuff. Like Steve Gadd's flutter lick, for example. So anyway, thanks a bunch from Canada!
fantastic! thank you so much I will practice this. You dont show your foot but I am assuming that you do not use double basdrum pedal and just do a fast double on the right foot with your single pedal?
On time the whole time, or you diminuendo the very end usually. If you randomly start rushing the end it sounds pretty bad, even if it is impressive, that being said, you can increase the subdivisions if you want to go faster but still stay in time
Dude. When your NOT playing drums, you are quite the docile creature. Aye? You seem/move very rubbery and elastic like Fred Astaire. Your tendons are very rubberband?

I totally got what you were saying. At the beginning it's like, hiiiiiii... then give it a minute and BOOM!!!! Bloody brilliant!
Lol. Yeah this dude is a beast.
2:40 . He mutes the silent ride..
gotta watch out for that sympathetic vibration
It's just habbit it's a drummer thing, this man is an extremely professional drummer

love the sound of your drums
This is a great lesson, very clear, and taught in a way that I could pick it up.
Thanks Max :-D
His voice is so soothing. Ideal at breaking bad news, "you've got cancer".
Absolutely incredible feel!
Hello from Germany! Please, make new videos. Your drum videos are great!!!
oh ride cymbal how I wish I knew what you were :(
Thanks for the lick, Max. It gives me something new to work on!
Can you show the beginning of the song lick please

We love your work Max!
Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you're smoothhhhhh mannnnnn
Thanks man! Another cool "trashcan ending" to ad to my bag of tricks. Hopefully, with practice, I can play it as smooth as you.
You are a radical dude.. thanks!
Sure he is. Stick control, feeling, what else?
Love your lessons Max!..
Very good excellent !!! (Toninho Reis Brazilian drummer)

Amazing, thx for information
Thank you, Max!
Accent the two consecutive bass drum notes with cymbals
I’d love to know how to kick that bass so fast
How did he start at 2:52 ?
RLLKRL repeated :)
@@dimsunk I'm talking about the break, kinda sound
@@avitolourenco it's just a flam on the snare followed by a bass drum right after

ty man
Max!!! I Love you
Awesome lick,Man but I could never get my right foot that fast and still solid and distinct so it wouldn't get lost in shuffle(no pun intended)
Love it
Thanks!
The diddles on speed..are they bouncing rolls?
Yes , They are double stroke rolls and I’m letting the stick bounce and do most of the work.
Nice, what's your technique for getting fast doubles on your foot?? It sounds great-
What is that ride cymbal?
that hi-hat is this?
WHAT'S THAT FLATRIDE, MAX?
Thank you for the music!
Thanks, it's a ride made out of very thin sheet metal .
I forget the brand . I'll check it out.
I would appreciate that, Max!
Is it a 20"?
@@lorenzmuller3542 I guess we'll never know ;)
@@dimsunk Any news? ;)
Anyone know what his snare is?
What's that drum doing behind you on the floor?? I've heard of a floor Tom but that's crazy lol
Also makes a nice beat when you play it slow. How much for the ride cymbal?
Really nice, Max... Thanks! What kit is that?
Thanks, the kit is a Rogers Holiday from the 60's .
Snare is a tama starclassic with wood hoops.
Nice! Thanks.
!
Thnx
I m always wondering when we end the song, are we still on time with the song or the time will change?
On time the whole time, or you diminuendo the very end usually. If you randomly start rushing the end it sounds pretty bad, even if it is impressive, that being said, you can increase the subdivisions if you want to go faster but still stay in time
Holy crap you rekt that kit
Same drumsticks
Cool
wish you had another camera on your right foot
that's what you called musical.
NIcei

What the FUCK is that cymbal
Sell me your snare
His voice makes me yawn. He has the powers. Nice drumming man
