Do you know that I created a new channel for my Korean lesson videos? If you are interested in learning Korean from me, please check it out. :) ruclips.net/channel/UC9lyfShr-4VpGl2Wu8qpehw
Aeri's Kitchen Hmmmm, I get an error message when clicking the link.
Hi Mie, I'm sorry but when I tested the link several times and it works fine for me. I wonder if others have the same problem too. On this channel's main page, right side bar, you can see the logo for Aeri's Korean as a featured channel. You can visit my second channel through it too.
Aeri's Kitchen Thank you Aeri, I clicked the alternative route like you suggested and the videos are there. Have a wonderful day!
Great !!! I will see you there then. ;) Have a great weekend too.
I can make this water kimchi..it's super easy...thank you
Your English has improved so much compared to when you first started with these videos. Great job and thank you for the awesomely tasty videos, keep up the great work!
Thank you so much. Your words mean a lot to me. 😀
I love love kimchi and I want to make this recipe asap. Thank you!!
Just made winter kimchi, quite easy to prepare. Thanks Aeri!
great job.. thanks
My biggest regret is that I never made dong chi mi with my maternal grandmother. I will never stop missing her dong chi mi and her other fabulous side dishes. I loved them so much and the prettiest sight I ever saw happened when I was with my grandmother and I saw it when she opened that lid. I wish my grandmother had lived past 100. I would have been absolutely elated to spend a lot of time with her. Funny how my mother is nothing like her. Not when it comes to housekeeping and homemade dong chi mi. My mother's dong chi mi is awful.
Hi Dorothy,
Maybe it's not your mom's dongchimi is awful.. but your grandmother's was way too delicious... hehe I'm glad to hear you have a great memory with your mom and grandmother's korean food. Thanks for sharing the story with me. :)
I am a korean, my mother makes without pear or any fruits but my mother in law makes with pear or apple.
I preper my mother's kimch I think water kimch with fruits has smell but water kimch without fruits is more like fresh.
And my mom doesn't use any sugar.
Hi Thanks for sharing your story with us. I bet your mom made the best food ever ~~~ :) You are lucky to try Korean food from both your mom and Korean mother in law. I miss my mom's food a lot but she is in Korea..and I'm in America.. ^^:;
Easy to follow this recipe, I will try it, thanks.
thanks
That pear is giant! I want to try this recipe!
haha.. yes actually.. there are even bigger ones in Korea.. lol
Thank you Aeri! I love pickle recipes and I cannot eat spicy foods, so this is perfect. I hope to make it someday ^_^.
^^
Thank you
You're welcome. Thanks :)
Yum 😀
thank u for the video :D
Thank you for your comment. :D
Happy early merry Christmas to you and your family. I enjoy the video once again it is something I never seen before. did you grow up making these recipe or did you have to learn how to make them from a cookbook or cooking school? 😇
Yes, my mom always made delicious kimchi.. ;) I never went to a cooking school.. if I knew that I would do what I'm doing now before.. I might consider going to cooking school instead of education college.. lol Thanks for your Christmas greeting, Mirian. You were very very nice to me this year. I feel thankful to have you.
Aeri's Kitchen thank you and I feel the same 😇
Hi..I really love your all recipes.. problem is I couldn't find sea salt or kosher salt..can I make this using table salt?
yes you can use table salt..but only problem is...the saltiness between them can be different... so you need to adjust the amount of salt you use for this recipe..
Thank you God bless you always bye
Thank you, Naomi. God bless you too.
Thank youuuu for the Bible verse at the end!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 p.s. Aeri, if you add the sweet rice flour porridge with onions and pear like some other kimchi recipes, does it change the flavor or end product of this dongchimi kimchi?
It can be good for flavorwise... but one problem is... since you ground those ingredients.. onion and pear.... your kimchi broth can be not as clear as mine... that's why I put chunks of those ingredients in my water kimchi... it gives the flavor to the kimchi broth..but it will still keep the clear broth.. it's up to you. :) Thanks
Is anyone here from Germany? Does anyone know if regular (pretty small) asian stores here sell korean radish or daikon radish?
I hope anybody from Germany can answer your question. Thanks
Do I have to add the peppers? My partner has an aversion to pepper flavors.
Yes, you can skip the peppers. :)
Can the asian pear be replaced with normal pear?
I will say.. just sweet apple can be closer than normal pear if you want to replace..
@@aeriskitchen thank you! I'll try it soon. I've seen William and Bentley from Return of superman eating this a lot
I am a korean.
My mother always have made water kimch without any fruit and sugar.
I love my mother's kimch more than any other kimch with fruit. The water kimchi witjout fruit tastes fresh taste.
Is daikon radish similar?
Yes, not the same thing but similar..
What dose a Asian pear taste like? I have never seen one before
It tastes a little similar with crunch normal American pear (before it becomes soft) but Asian pear suppose to be crispy and crunch to eat (not soft) and it is a lot juicier and sweeter than normal American pear.
So juicy. It is a crisp and firm fruit, but the amount of juice in each bit is a little mind-blowing. In a good way!
Can I make this without sugar or pear? Thank you.
You can...but then you lose some good flavor from it.. You can not eat sugar ?
Aeri's Kitchen Yeah, I'm on the keto diet but I still miss my Korean food. :)
I m a korean. I prefer not to put sugar in dongchimi. Just think of it as salt water×radishes. Thats it. Dont have fruites like pears? Just skip those. Salt water×radish.. That s it. the mother nature will take care of the rest.
☘️ Today's question 🤓
Which one is your favorite Kimchi?
1. Napa Cabbage Kimchi (a.k.a. BaeChu Kimchi)
2. Cucumber Kimchi (a.k.a. Oi SoBaGI)
3. Green Onion Kimchi (a.k.a. Pa Kimchi)
4. Radish Kimchi (a.k.a. GgakDuGi)
5. Bachelor Radish Kimchi (a.k.a. ChongGak Kimchi)
6. Parilla Leaves Kimchi (a.k.a. GgaetNip Kimchi)
7. Garlic Chive Kimchi (a.k.a. BuChu Kimchi)
8. Water Kimchi (a.k.a. Mul Kimchi)
Cucumber Kimchi!!:)
무근지는 입맛이 참 들네요.
Dongchimi, oi sobagi, and kkaenip kimchi are all my favorites. I'm greedy and can't choose just one lol.
I've only had one. I would love to make this kimchi and try the others!
Radish Kimchi! I could eat a full jar of that stuff by itself. 😬
Great!!38 like!:)
Can i use normal radish?
It tastes the best with Korean radish..but yes.. you can still try normal radish too..
How many days i can keep it??
It takes about 3 weeks to ferment this water kimchi.. once you start to eat you can eat as long as you want to eat.. for months.. (only problem is.. it becomes sour and sour by time goes.. so I like to finish eating it in a month after I started to eat it .. )thanks
Hi..can i use apple instead of pear?
Yes you can... however if you can ever get Asian pear, please that too someday. :)
