    I like that your comparing , Common Mead notebook paper to a top notch brand Rhodia paper.
    I bought the amazon; *Lamy Vista FP* ( $45 canadian) in fine nib...
    with an ink converter ($20 cad)
    and a 4 pack / 20 cartridges in black lamy ink ($25 cad)
    Total = *_$90.oo cad_*
    didn't care for it, & regifted it to my wife. She luvs it !
    Then I Amazon ordered the
    *Lamy Safari FP in Matte black* ($50 cad) in medium nib
    + ink converter ($20 cad)...
    Total *_$70 canadian_* .
    {arriving 2 weeks & 4 days}
    You can really , see the differences in your writing , with the Medium to the fine nibs..
    It's a good test....looking forward to seeing more Paper & ink tests for your Lamy fountain pen . Happy new Year to you and your Family. Cheers

    You sir, gain a new subscriber...
    I am a Lamy owner, a charcoal model and a vista model with fine nibs, both of them, they were'nt my first option at first, but, after years... I realized how good this pen is, I've been using it for everything, and, of course I like the classical style of other pens, but, somehow I just felt in love with the minimalistic design of the Lamy at the end... So... I just don't need or want another pen...
    But, I need to try the EF neeb... Just for curiousity...

    I have me a lamy tourmaline in medium nib, I actually use it to write really quick. But then I have a kaweco in olive, medium nib I've been drawing and writing with. And a noodlers clear flex nib to draw with my lamy is not getting love, I did get a converter, I think I'm so tired of blue ink, so I need to change it out.
    I feel my lamy I'm not as patient because of the easy flow, which is good. But my kaweco collection makes me go into artist mode, maybe it's just me because I rush my cursive.

    • @Inkwellchronicle
      @Inkwellchronicle  Год назад +1

      I really have to try a Kaweco pen, people keep talking about them. When it comes to cursive with me, I do prefer a pen that writes semi dry -wet and is an extra fine so I can get thin lines.

    I got a Lamy Safari as well as an Al Star and Vista, which are just variations on it. I am not very impressed by it. The edges on the section has really hard plastic lines and the nibs are not consistent. For the same price you can get far better build quality and better writing experience, e.g. the Pilot Metropolitan, Parker Jotter, Parker Vector, etc. It's not necessarily bad, but I think it underperforms for the fuss. Great channel by the way.

      @@Inkwellchronicle very cool. may i suggest you write in a journal, snippets of poetic prose, flowery or highly descriptive writing that is insightful and or emotional, for ten minutes every day at cafe's or when waiting on a bus or train or plane? you can describe people, objects, the sky, a storm, a bird song, a child, even a ship. you can add to it imaginary narratives that explore the scene. take for instance, you sit by a fountain on a hot mid day outing. you grab your journal, and start with the seven senses, before writing, start with smells, then sounds, then sights, then how you feel inside, then touch, ie breezes, warmth, cold, sweat, etc, then taste, if you are eating, then energy, the atmosphere of the place, its austerity or lushness, its vibes, its flow, business like or street market like atmosphere, or carnival like, perhaps it is full of sorrow, dread, or fear of war or of government control... let's say you sit down and write, "the plaza was clean but dry, the tall fountain, built upon stone maidens holding water pots, splashed randomly onto the orange pavers under our feet, it almost sizzled. birds, small and blue, flew kamikaze into the founts, drinking drops on the sly, reeling in the joy of flight. how human they are at times, how playful with thier showing off, children see me writing and flash curious smiles at me. i realize, in my sweaty shirt and writer's stance, i have become an outsider, one of the herd, looking back in, examining it, almost judging it, feeling sorry for it, and suddenly, i feel for the first time, the exhilaration of being free, and the odd loneliness of it as well. these children will never know this feeling until they find a way to sit the way i am sitting, i am linked now, with all the old writers, poets, and artists, but can i avoid their bitter revelations, and preachiness, can i add beauty to my art and hearts of those still within the circle? canni enoble them and myself? can i spook them, tease them, enthrall them, entertain them and myself, while loving them or myself? can i stand outside the second circle?
