Although I may only be 15 years old and live inn the U.S., I have been looking toward living in Japan for a while. I have found my dream job to be in Japan. Thanks for showing us what different areas in Japan look like.
I believe the long pieces of wood stored on the sides of the homes are spares to repair the lattice of thatched roofs. Many of the homes I saw had modern tiled roofs. But, I wouldn't be surprised, underneath the tiles are signs of thatch roof construction.
The thatched roof, roof decorations, topiary, walled gates of the traditional country home are just so lovely. I have had an idea to have a no nail wooden peg style, tea house built in the back yard of the house I will inherit. It will be very small with a moss garden and a koi pond around it. At least that is the dream I have.
Another great vid Kev! I always enjoy seeing the Japanese countryside. There's something so tranquil and relaxed about it. Very reminiscent of a Softypapa video :)
Many thanks for uploading this video with very good narration. Japanese countrysides very beautiful clean and tidy. No garbage or unpleasant things on the streets. It reflects the mindset
Enjoyed the walk video. Thanks! I would imagine that the wood you see on those racks are the framework for the rice fodder drying racks that you see out in the rice fields after harvest.
Very beautiful and serene place and I miss my home town of Gifu Prefectures thank you for sharing! 👍🤗❤️ from Louisiana USA とても美味しくて静かな町ですね,もう私 すぐに日本に帰りたくなりました。ありがとうございました。👍🤗❤️ ルイジアナ州 アメリカ
Beautiful views and funny things are in this village still there but in bell kurt's videos , the people gone left the village abandoned and felt so sad left the farms without the villagers there
Wow the view looks like some villages in the Philippines but not the house's structures, I think it's more beautiful to see during sunset in this village.
It was beautiful, peaceful and quiet edge of the heaven, i love Japan and respect their cultures very much. Keep it up Japanese people, thanks you for your share and wish you all the best buddy.
Excuse me speaking out I don't know anything about Japan however the wall does remind me Construction in earlier times in Texas and Louisiana old houses. The word was lattice together and they made their own mud type cement to spread over the wood. So supposed Wood on the outside of the house for future repair
i think those long piece of wood in old farm house are used to dry harvested crops, may be paddy. May be they might be used for certain props. in festivals. it's Beautiful place you visited. Nice
Lovely place, Kevin. The poles stored on racks on the sides of the houses are probably used every year for the rice harvest. They reap and hang the sheaves grain on long poles in the field to dry before threshing. Got to save the poles and reuse them every year or it would be "mottainai," right?
The Japnese sure do love to drink, especially the men. The Fathers love to drink with their sons and sons in law, I believe becuse it help make you bond with eachother. Same in Korea.
A Softypapa moment - I hope that Kurt knows it - thanks to him and his videos in Japan there is a new English word. I love your videos in the inaka of Osaka Pref.
Once upon a time when I was little around 30 years ago. This scenery almost the same in my country. Not too many people, not many vehicle pass by. We are muslim, but still hold javanese culture more (go nature; people plant trees & flowers, clean, friendly). Then in early 2000, when people care more about religion than culture. The population grow like crazy, and environment become dirty. And it is sad when people more care why you don't wear hijab than why you throw garbage into the river.
An old work mate of mine went out for a cigarette break and decided to touch a caterpilla, the guy went into anaphylactic shock and ended up in hospital So yeah that's always put me off picking them up. Enjoyed the video :)
Something that I'm always curious about when watching videos of Japan(mainly villages like this one) is all the concrete and stone. Are concrete and stone super cheap in Japan? Cause you see it everywhere like it grows on trees. I get that they have a lot of rocky mountains and hills, but I would still like to know how so much is used on walkways, paths, steps, the bases of properties, etc. I often wonder how much it costs them to build these stone and concrete structures and if there's a city/state involvement in its use. And this is a great video BusanKevin. Thanks for sharing it. :{D
It seems as if there's an effort from your part to keep your voice as mild as possible. Which makes me feel kind of anxious like you feel when you are in some foreign place. Apart from that the place looks beautiful and calm.
Would it be easy for a gaijin (if they had the money) to buy a traditional home/home and land like those in the video? And also any idea what the prices are?
If you are on any other resident status than a spouse of a Japanese national or permanent resident (which usually means you had the former status at some point) you aren't legally allowed to buy land. If you had a Japanese spouse being a foreigner doesn't really matter anymore.
Lots of houses packed together and building materials stored in the ground. Don't they have rat problems there? Snakes live where there are rats to eat. I once lived in a wooden house in the middle of nowhere near a rice farm, one night I look at the ground something moving and it's a baby snake. (brown ones, venomous...) Couldn't sleep at night no more after that, wondering where mama snake would be, and how baby snake ended up inside the house. Totally paranoid xDDDD
I absolutely love the videos of rural Japan. The houses, the surounding, the silence. It's a sight we don't see that often from Japan. Thanks!

Wow...so nice and looks peaceful there....i want to live there😊😊😊
Those long pieces of wood are for cover parts of the house in winter. Put into place and than draped with some type of canvas, plastic or burlap.

So relaxing...the ASMR quality of this video put me right to sleep. LOVE IT

Enjoyed the walk video. Thanks! I would imagine that the wood you see on those racks are the framework for the rice fodder drying racks that you see out in the rice fields after harvest.

There's a strong image of Japan = Tokyo, but many areas of Japan are like this. There are some interesting discoveries in this kind of area.

why none people around ? where are they ? nice village. thanks Kevin.
Those poles are to make the rice drying racks in the fields. I'm surprised anyone can make the sharp corners on those skinny roads.
Awesome little walk you took us on.I loved the community loud speakers and announcement. What kinds of things do they announce?
Looks really nice! very silent... love it all haha ^^
Would the long pieces of wood be used in the fields to dry the rice plants on, after they are harvested?
Planning to move to japan from US looks pretty nice out there , let me know if it will be worth it
Nice video beautiful place Japan.
Woods may be to clean drainage
Another awesome vid!! i wonder what Japan would look like from a DJI Phantom's point of view.
Amazing village as I called cool

the long pieces of wood must be have been put against the houses perhaps to help protect against earthquakes.
I liked the video.
Would be prefer usual lens to the camera. Nice view btw
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video, I really wish I could live to this kind of place someday xD.
What do you do on those one lane roads if 2 vehicles meet? Does one just pull into someones lot? Or are they one way?
Japanese village place is so so so beautiful 😍😍😍😘😍😍😍😜😜. And thank you for this video .
How can one buy used engines from Japan?
An old work mate of mine went out for a cigarette break and decided to touch a caterpilla, the guy went into anaphylactic shock and ended up in hospital So yeah that's always put me off picking them up. Enjoyed the video :)
seems like almost no sign of living there, by the way it's very similar to Indonesia's hillside village
I'd like to live there :)

It was so quiet there I didn't want to bother anyone with my talking.
What was the announcement about ?
Just wondering, using the go pro? Just noticing the fish eye...
I was also going to ask about that. Which go pro are you using? I'm thinking of getting one.
私は日本に住んでいる日本人で、こういう風景もよく知っているのだけど、
あなたのこういう動画には、なぜかとても感動してしまいます。いつもありがとう(๑•̀д•́๑)b
Hirara Kotayama nice !
Where are the villagers??

I see.
They sould ban Japanese to even marry a gaijin.
GSH RDY but xenophobe-sama, hasn't Japan gone down that road before? If I remember correctly it didn't turn out so good...
