You sir just gained a subscriber and so much respect from me for not casting on those fish gotta make sure the next generation can experience them fish one day just like we did awesome video keep em coming!!
You are doing a great thing sharing these epic adventures with fellow flyfishers across the globe. Really enjoy your work and appreciate all the effort and talent you put into making your films. 😊🤙
Absolutely incredible video. As the season is coming to a close, I crave the slower and more cinematic videos such as these to live vicariously through the sights and sounds of your storytelling. Thank you for bringing this level of attention to detail to the fly fishing community.
I am so enjoying this. You two are good fishing companions for each other and me, the viewer. Love it and may the fish rise and take your flies as often as life allows.
New subscriber . Simply epic video. New to fly fishing this was an inspiration. Winter steelhead is right around the corner here. Hoping to replace some of my spinner fish with my first steely on the fly rod. Thanks again for your efforts in making such a wonderful video
The trout parks in MO hold a special place in my heart because it’s were I was introduced into the sport of fly fishing! I agree it can be very crowded at times but most everyone is friendly and give you space! Montauk is my favorite going there next weekend!
Call me a gatekeeper. I was initial critical of celebrating these areas by name and driving pressure, but watching changed my opinion as your mindset and careful approach became obvious. Punctuating attention to their vulnerability , you set an impressive example of respect.
Awesome watch!! Surprised the Grayling eluded you north of Hinton. If you ever come back up this way I'd gladly lend you fellas a road radio to make travelling the logging & service roads a bit safer. Cheers.
Guys, thank you so much for this video and everything in it. So interesting, so fluent story, great catches, and great great recommendation to visit Canada. Thanks again and greeting from Serbia.
it's cool to see you up in AB - That over pressured river was the first river I ever had a big day on (5 fish) I guess perspective is everything but it will always have a soft spot for me. Much better in September onward the crowds dissipate
Hello guys and welcome to Alberta. I'm Mike Born and raised in central Alberta. I've some of those rivers in my day. Getting up there in age a little tuff going for me now. limited to very short walks now. But anyways nice film nice fish And great fishing ethics . I would welcome you back any time.
It's to bad I missed you guys! I've been a fan of the channel for a long time and just happen to live within an hour of that river! Very cool seeing you guys enjoy it as much as I do. Pretty sure you even hooked into some of the fish I'm very familiar with. If you ever want to come back I'll gladly guide you for the weekend free of charge! If you could believe it there's even bigger ones hiding in a few spots. Great video. Cheers 🍻
It is such a cool river! Looks like it gets a fair amount of traffic during the summer months! Really appreciate the offer, we might have to take you up on that!
Amazing looking trip!! Gear question, where did you find that net bungee coil? I’ve been looking for a nylon bungee like yours but can only find the rubber/plastic bungees.
So rad I watched it all. You and Sam killed it. Looked like an epic adventure. And im glad you found your net even if it was too late hahah next time hopefully we link and hit the river together. Cheers!
Love the video. Was wondering what kind of pants or socks you’re using or what that type or leg wear is called. Would be a huge game changer on those high alpine trips I’m looking forward to this summer!
What made you think of coming to Alberta? I’ve lived here most of my life and though I love it deeply, I’ve never really thought it was high on anybody’s list to visit for any reason.
Awesome video….I have shared it will all my buddies. Question: I love to wet wade in the summer months….never thought of wearing tights….brilliant idea! What tights have you found to be the best for holding up to brush, yet comfortable in the summer heat?
Good stuff.......again, Mike. Thanks for taking us along! Just wondering......these boys are big fish compared to anything in the Little Piney......why don't you use your drag more? Just thinking that I'd probably prefer to fight these footballs from the reel. No criticism meant.....just thinking out loud. Keep doing what you do! We'll keep watching and loving it!
Awesome Adventure's in Canada!! Nice catches!! What brand is your backpack. Trying to figure out what's best backpack for myself for hiking and fishing!
Such an amazing video. Love the sights, the stories, and the catches! Everywhere seemed so magical, especially that loaded cutthroat river near the end. Maybe someday I can be cool like that too 😁 also as a side note, Westslope cutthroat are one of the rare instances where even in pure populations, they can occasionally have slight white tipped fins. Makes them hard to distinguish from a cutbow at times, but still amazing fish either way!
The Kananaskis park pass is brand new in the last couple of years for that area. Kind of unfortunate to have another area become pay for access, but hopefully that money goes into improvements in parks and management :)
Hey brother, great video and one question, what app are you using to plan your routes? I saw you looking at a map in the first segment and that was the app I was referring to.
Well shot, edited and narrated. Nicely done. I spent a number of days on your first river in mid Sept; it appears just a few weeks after you were there. Similar experience… lots of whitefish but the cutthroat were hard to find. It seems the persistent drought and low water conditions are keeping cutthroat much lower in the system, even into the big lake. But I’m curious, with so much great water in the Elk R system why did you bypass the Fernie area and carry on into Alberta? Did the classified water regulations contribute to that? The limited angler days can be a barrier for last minute DIY anglers. The costs add up too…
Calgary was where I was going to be staying after the trip was over. Plus most of our research landed us in Central Alberta so we just kept heading east
I would love some videos about how to get a first fly rod. Tuning in from Maine and I've been wanting to try catching something on the fly, even bass or chub for that matter. Thank you for sharing. Edit: I'm open to reccomendations as well. I'm starting from nothing with no experience, I'd love any advice for equipment or technique.
You’ll run across endless opinions from folks that think they’ve got the right answer. I struggle to offer advice because I started from the mud. I found thrift shop rods and they were a phenomenal place to start. New rods are a racket imo, spend money on the line ($100+)
Great story telling! The way you talk sounds like a bro, but with a great articulation and understanding of what is going on. You could write this story in a book or article, and the picture would be as clear as this video.
you should try flt fishing the adirondacks, its actually a suprisingly huge park and i caught a 2 foot brown there, and if you go to the high peak lakes and streams you can catch some huge native brookies, out of going fishing in colorado, idaho, and even alaska the adirondacks is my favorite, because of how secret its waters are and how prestine the nature is, i would recomend making one there, native brookies in the fall are arguably one of the most beutiful things i have ever seen
These big trout are sick to watch but do you ever try to target smallies or even like northern pike on streamers. Throwing streamers for like, muskie, stripers, large mouth… anything that’ll eat something large, that would make a sick video. And there’s not a ton of videos on it
You sir just gained a subscriber and so much respect from me for not casting on those fish gotta make sure the next generation can experience them fish one day just like we did awesome video keep em coming!!

Thank you so much! It takes a lot of work but it is a ton of fun so I dont mind
What a legendary trip! My jaw hurts from smiling the entire time. Can't wait for wading season again.
So glad you enjoyed!!
Epic movie, thank you posting. Made my day.
So glad you enjoyed!
Absolutely incredible video. As the season is coming to a close, I crave the slower and more cinematic videos such as these to live vicariously through the sights and sounds of your storytelling. Thank you for bringing this level of attention to detail to the fly fishing community.
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed
You still have the best fishing vids. Thanks for the beautiful scenery.
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Another masterpiece of both verbal and visual storytelling. Lovely 🇨🇦
Thank you so much Chase! That really means a lot!
I am so enjoying this. You two are good fishing companions for each other and me, the viewer. Love it and may the fish rise and take your flies as often as life allows.
So glad you enjoyed! We had so much fun
@@FLYALLSZN You two are definitely the best example of fishing buddies. Loved the film. Happy Holidays!

The river was really beautiful!

Congrats on that first Canadian gush

Yes! Love to hear it! You betcha!
Respect your fisheries. If everyone thought similar to you we'd have alot more fish to go around. Kudos
The trout parks in MO hold a special place in my heart because it’s were I was introduced into the sport of fly fishing! I agree it can be very crowded at times but most everyone is friendly and give you space! Montauk is my favorite going there next weekend!
Montauk is where I got my start as well!
Call me a gatekeeper. I was initial critical of celebrating these areas by name and driving pressure, but watching changed my opinion as your mindset and careful approach became obvious. Punctuating attention to their vulnerability , you set an impressive example of respect.
Thanks for respecting our waters in Alberta. hope you come back again. Great video!! makes me feel lucky to live here.
Incredible video brotha, scenery and those fish looked amazing. The FAS production quality never ceases to amaze! Keep up the fishy work my man!
Thank you so much!! Gotta keep the pressure on!
Southern Alberta is literally the busiest/best fly fishing Alberta has to offer.
Seems like it
Awesome watch!! Surprised the Grayling eluded you north of Hinton. If you ever come back up this way I'd gladly lend you fellas a road radio to make travelling the logging & service roads a bit safer. Cheers.

Guys! Great video! I live in central Alberta and sometimes have to pinch my self and appreciate the beauty, and hard earned fishing.

Great video. I have fished some of those holes and there are some spectacular fish there.
Just found your videos. They are awesome! What net lanyard are you using? It looks more heavy duty than most I’ve seen.

Company called robo hawk mixed with a broder net clip. Absolute killer combo

You can find any number of options out on the market! Kayaking pants work well
10/10 Mike!

Fantastic adventure!
It was amazing! Thank you!
What made you think of coming to Alberta? I’ve lived here most of my life and though I love it deeply, I’ve never really thought it was high on anybody’s list to visit for any reason.
Alberta is high on anyones list.
I would love to know the rivers you guys fished if you can share that?
All the research should be linked to
Great job, FAS! Uuhhh, so when does this Montana Summer video come out?
These videos take a lot of time! (especially still working a full time job) I will get it out as soon as I can!
at timestamp 34 mins the mountain background is very familar! Looks like its by the Oldman River. :)
We were in and around that system at the start of the trip!
Awesome video….I have shared it will all my buddies.

Sometimes it is just easier to fight them by hand. Plus more often than not I trust my hands a lot more than the drag
Really cool. Quick question because im curious and weird. What was the MO/MASS under canada in the opening credit?
I literally could have waited 1 minute to find out.......
Just a silly name we call this trip!
Awesome video! What hexnet do you have? I like the rings holding the netting
It is a great net! I use the Reach model
Just found channel. Binge watching!!! What packs are you guys using and what is the white / yellow rod? Thanks!!
We both use different packs! But the rod is the ANT fire rod!
@@FLYALLSZN thanks, subscribed.
Awesome Adventure's in Canada!! Nice catches!! What brand is your backpack. Trying to figure out what's best backpack for myself for hiking and fishing!
Thank you! It’s a hunting backpack, kuiu is a phenomenal brand
What rod weight would you recommend for a bass/trout streamer rod? And sinking line or floating?
It would just depend on what you have available! Use any rod you have. But if you’re super serious about it, grab a 7 or 8 with some floating line
