Great video! Thanks! Everything is clear, Only got one question. I have automatic transmission, so I think I need VSS high and VSS low to go from VSS sensor to 20 and 21 pins on pcm, so transmission can read speed from the sensor.
How can it be done in this config, as both vss wires go to CGI5 and VSS inputs are open on PCM (ECM)?
Can it be spiced, so 2 wires go to CGI5 and also to PCM (ECM)? Thank you!
I'm doing this exact same thing in my 91 camaro rs 305tbi 5 swap to 350 tpi 6 speed, I am wondering if it's pretty much the same procedure as this firebird and is the VSS buffer box located under the console as well?
I cannot seem to find the sgi-5c anywhere but I can find the sgi-100bt, does that work the same way?

I have a question I'm currently doing a t56 swap my 88 firebird formula 350 and im also using a digital dakota box, how would I wire in the rest of those wires from the yellow buffer box into the dakota box? One was for cruise and one for engine control I believe? Thanks
Hello great video. I just upgraded my cluster on my 90 Silverado to a 93 Silverado. Old cluster had drac built in cluster. New cluster I had to wire in a external drac. I have a 700r4 tranny will this set up work for me?
What kind of VSS is with two wires output, where the magnet is rotating inside static coil around which this coil has this two wires output? I don't beleave it is variable reluctance sensor.
Good stuff, one question: What's the need for the dakota digital box. When you first started the vid I thought it was for the analog to digital conversion but based on what you said when going over the speed buffer the a-to-d conversion is handled by that box, so why replace it with the dakota digital one?

Will this digital box work on my 1991 trans am? I replaced the stock 2.73 gear with a 3.42 and now the speedometer is wrong. My car does not have the speedometer buffer. Thanks for your help.
91 should have it most 87 and up were electronic Speedo my 87 GTA buffet wasn't attached to the computer it had its own bracket near the ecm
Why wouldnt you just wire it in to the body harness between the trans and the original plug that went to the original transmission? If you change the signal from the trans to the original output signal pulse before the computer as it was from the factory wouldn't it work the same way? So you wouldn't need to modify any of the wiring at the computer just the wires that use to plug into the original trans
Rusty Lindamood you would have to wire it inside the car anyway, so its away from the outside elements
Would it be a similar procedure if the transmission were stock but you changed out the Speedo? Say from an 80mph to a 120 or 140 mph speedo?

Does that box work for stock T5 to be able to adjust for a rear gearing change? I went from 3.43 to 4.11 on what is now a track car, but i still drive it on the street ocasionally with that damn GPS spedo. I want my normal spedo back but i cant find any answers on how to handle the change from different final gears.

wont work on cable..u would have to change the gear in the tranny to make up for any tire or rear gear change

@@klowny1969 hello brotha I did my ls swap on my third gen 1988 the buffer box to the vss what color wires did u tap into I’m tryna tap in to my electronic vss wires with a 4l60 vss is it the purple and yellow or the light green
