Thankyou so much for posting this. Been struggling for weeks to get mine calibrated. Watched this and got it sorted in 5 mins. Those calibration instructions should be on the Dakota digital website.
i’m about to do mine on my cd009 swapped sc400. currently i go 20mph and the speedo says 120mph.. hoping i can dial it way down, but his description of the triple beam balance really make sense to me also.
This box is needed with the loj conversion kit for cd009 into s13/s14 to have the speedometer work. The kit sensor outputs 10 pulses per revolution and the 240sx speedometer requires 4 pulses per revolution. So you use this box for a 60% reduction in the signal pulses using the following settings: High in-High out setting and feeding your sensor wire to Output3 gives you 50% reduction then you just use the calibration value of 1.2 to bring the reduction from 50% to 60% reduction and it takes your 10ppr signal from the kit to 4ppr that the oem 240sx speedometer requires. This will calibrate it to the stock setup from oem. Adjust the calibration value while driving like in your video to dial it in if you’ve changed wheels or gearing etc… Same idea for anything else you just need to know the pulse values you’re moving to and from. Thanks for the video really helped 🤝
The nitty gritty! I love this follow up content and you showing the headache that custom stuff can be. Your skyline is only getting better with each update!
When I first started. I legit thought I was going to get the swap done in 3 days.... and here we are (Spongebob announcer voice) "8 updates later." Thanks for the continued support Alex!
It’s time I dig into this speed issue. I don’t have abs front knuckles anymore as any schassis never retains same parts lol. I have a stock s13 ABS diff with what I believe has an ABS sensor as well as the CD009 has a cut plug that looks just like an ABS sensor. Wish I had a lift.
Awh my lil doggie would love to meet dex! Hehe. And Little by little the Skyline is getting better and better. I hate that I don't have anything meaningful to say. I'm not a technician or a mechanic in any sense, (I honestly think I can just follow a video/instructions kinda ok) but I can appreciate anyone putting in work into their passions. You got it bro. 👍
@@CMAutohaus thanks for the reply, trying to get my kouki silvia speedo working from rear diff with ABS deleted from the chassis and cd09 gearbox using an older Dakota SGI-5C. Any help would be appreciated.

awesome diagnosis!
It was a serious learning curve, but so glad to have a working speedo/odo again!
Best explanation I've seen of installing this. I need it for an axle swap in prerunner
Thanks for the kind words. I had to make this video as I agree: no clear videos or instructions.

Hey thanks man! Always appreciate you leaving a comment. And yes, MANY requests to from people to have Dexter in more videos.
Hey Man, how the gearbox holding up? Any issues after years?
Hey did you retain your abs system as well
I forgot if I did the ABS delete before or after the CD9 swap. You can look in my engine bay in the videos. I actually sold this car last year.
