    If I am changing rear end ratio on a vehicle with the 4L60E can I reuse the stock electronic VSS? Or is there a gear like in the th350 I need to change?

      Depending on year and make of the vehicle, you may need to have ECM re-calibrated or tuned.

    I have a 95 blazer with the 4L60E tranny, and the large vss port with the magnetic sensor you were talking about. I did a tranny pan seal and filter replacement a couple weeks ago, so everything is dry. After the pan seal was replaced I noticed that I had a small leak coming from the vss, even when the vehicle was off. So today I replaced the sensor with a new one, with a new o-ring included. I seems like the new sensor is still leaking. Is this common?
    I kind of just popped the old one out, let the big rush of fluid drain, and then popped the new one back in, even tho there was still some fluid draining. Should I have let all the fluid quit dripping and then wiped and cleaned the area real well?
    After refilling the tranny, I checked the sensor area, and it seamed dry even when running and getting up to operating temp. Then I ran through the gears with the E-brake on and looked again, and it seemed like the sensor started leaking. Is this usual? Thanks in advance!

      No it is not usual. The best thing to do is remove the tail housing and check for corrosion around where the seal sits. Also when putting in the seal make sure the o-ring is lubricated.

      Thank you for the quick reply. If there is corrosion around the seal mating surface of the sensor, is it recommended to put a light coat of rtv around the sensor in addition to the o-ring? Or at that point would it be best to think about replacing the tail extension?

      A little bit of RTV is okay but not an excessive amount. If it needs a lot then yes, it would be recommended to be replaced instead.

    I have a 95 454 Vortec and want to use a 95 4 l60e this is all I need to convert my Vortec and run it

      If you are using the factory computer system then yes this should be all you need. But if not, then i don't see how you would be controlling the transmission seeing its electronic. If you have any questions feel free to call our tech support 800-708-0087.

    on my 700r4 it uses a electronic vss that uses a plastic reluctor ring and a plastic gear on the sensor. can I swap the plastic reluctor gear to a metal gear and run a electronic magnetic vss sensor

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  8 лет назад

      Yes, you can use a metal reluctor ring on the output shaft and electric pick up.

      for the 4L80E transmission they make a mechanical speedo tail shaft thinking of buying that setup will it still work with my LS ecm and Tcm. iam guessing but the 4l80e has the VSS on the side correct should be no problem

    • @MonsterTransmission

      The 4L80E has an electronic speedometer. Some companies do have aftermarket mechanical speedometer setup for a 4L80E that offer the tails. In the stock there is no hole in tailhousing for a mechanical speedometer housing.

    can I put a vehicle speed sensor on my th350 for my chevy C10 1/2 ton

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  7 лет назад

      Unfortunately no, the TH350 only had the option for the mechanical gears. You can however purchase a kit that allows you to use the mechanical gears and an electric gauge. Dakota Digital and Autometer offers this part.
