SO GOOD! Flashbacks to the hornet fight. I would always revert back to that rally point to replay this part of the mission lol. The motif is so iconic and to me is the OG aircombat theme I grew up with. Gives that same vibe as "Daredevil" from Ace Combat 7 OST and "Kings" - from Project Wingman.
The kind of music where you’re a marine witnessing the Master Chief himself soloing a brute chieftain in hand-to-hand combat as seraphs get shot down by UNSC shipboard AA guns in the horizon behind them
Outrageously good composition that enhances everything I loved about the original, outstanding work ! The additional Choir elements really brings it to new heights.
Oooooo.... Oh myyy.... Dat Brass... Just... NUT. Love me a strong Brass section. You need strength conveyed orchestrally? Brass. Absolutely. Love what I am hearing, and glad to see you putting out more Halo music. 100% eager for everything else you come up with.
Well done. Absolutely awe inspiring. Imagine this playing in the background of a future major space battle over the Ark with humanity having the upper hand and demolishing the triage of the banished, endless, and didacts re awakened fleet. One final effort is all that remains.
Heh whenever this plays i always get in the moment lol But it's always good to see fan creations like this every once awhile, because of the recent thing I had to give up on especially! "Halo" 😔
One song. Just one. Better and more deserving of cannon than everything 343i has done since Bungie left. And this is just one song. You and Ruby of Blue are basically the only thing that Halo has left. And you even credit Marty and Michael! Looking at you Microsoft.
Exactly. Especially Halo 3's. It was recorded almost entirely with a live orchestra in the first place and is already the best sounding OST of the franchise both in arrangement and performance. It literally can't be improved upon without altering the arrangement, as was done here, and thus not remaining faithful to Marty's and Michael's compositions.
As a musician myself, and a lifelong fan of film and game scores, I probably have a different perspective from a lot of the other commenters enthusiastically praising this. It's not bad, but it's not great either. Nothing beats the original arrangement and live orchestral performance in Halo 3. Nothing. This arrangement sounds like it belongs in an MCU movie. It has all the anticipatory trademarks of a modern soundtrack: an over-embellished, loud, and brash low brass section and an overall congested in-your-face arrangement with a hyper-focus on sounding "epic". It leans towards sensationalism rather than lending itself to benefitting the composition as a whole. It loses the dynamics, nuances, and authenticity of the original. Not everything needs to be juiced up on steroids and in your face to sound "epic". Often, less is more. Such is the case here.
we need this type of bad guy at the start of the open world, the Mad Brute, chasing you down, conventional guns dont work in fact they tickle him, rockets and such slow him down if precise about it multiple explosions force him to one knee and a pack of Brutes appear nearby to keep him safe, until before Jegga or hell on the Road at the end before entering the House of Reckoning you get to kill the Mad Brute, i just think if we got an enemy that forced us to keep on the move would of circumvented the Grapple, but imagine if the grapple was finite how dangerous an enemy you have to get away from and you can, he wont be that broken but its like the open world had no consequences, i feel he would punish you, hanging out on a ledge face too long BWAHAHAHAHA my prey i found you, and hes hanging off the side of a phantom with a turret to hose you down Next Halo definitely needs us on our toes if open world, but if linear still coordinate cutscenes to have a behemoth of a creature chasing us, like we know we're the dam Master Chief but a titan of a brute slamming a hammer down and laughing at us and threatening us every which way, NOW THATS A SPARTAN KILLER, oooooh boy what if at the FOBs the marines are so freaked out and happy you saved them but mention what it was like being the Banisheds prisoners of war, they know no mercy, we were their play things, rats in a cage, our friends didnt have a chance, Chief please be careful, or have when you come back for supplies or are screwing around and the marines captured a brute and hes mentioning this beast, and is recalling all his titles and rank or how far he made in the Covenant and why he was one of Atrioxs first choices to join the Banished but he declined, instead always looking for battle and the Covenant always fed him well, now the BANISHED are granting him that battle, heh heh SPARTAN i wish good luck
Crazy to think a couple of ODSTs took down a brute chieftain by jumping all over him like piranhas.
It’s even crazy to think that ODST even needed to do that to take down ONE chieftain.
