For me, it's between 8 and 8.5. The story was awesome, but you won't grasp everything by the end unless you read every single note and complete every side quest. I do wish the game fully revealed the story before the final act of the game. The A.I. can be dumb at times, but I feel it's also what makes you feel like a badass as you slash off the heads of unsuspecting eternalists. There weren't really any boss fights in the game and it did make the visionaries almost the same as the eternalists. Juliana was always the toughest to best in my opinion, and not because she was really fun to fight against, but because she spawns outta nowhere and unloads enough rounds into you to make you feel like the unlucky target in a firing range. With all that, I still had an awesome time with Deathloop. It kept me hooked from start to finish with intriguing mysteries, fun discoveries, tight gameplay and a long list of other great features I'm too lazy to mention. I don't think it's a 10/10, but I do believe it was very much worth my time and money.
Juliana is the boss if controlled by a player who knows what they're doing and doesn't lag. Visionaries aren't really stronger than other enemies but they might have some gimmicks or obstacles around them that makes them harder to kill. For example Frank hides in his soundbooth while sending in goons and Charlie can teleport away from you.
Yeah 7 to 8 out of 10 on PS5. The haptic and trigger feedback was phenomenal and I loved how immersive it felt. When the game was running on all cylinders it was fantastic, but after I wiped a map’s enemies it felt very empty and left me wondering it maybe I was playing wrong… I never beat it and don’t quite understand the entire story but it was fun. I should go back
The game became enjoyable for me when it patched in the option to give you up to 4 respawns instead of 2. Plus adjusting the difficulty in a custom manner.
It's probably more fun with just 1 respawn because Colt is so overpowered with all the stuff he can get vs how weak every enemy is. It's only a challenge in the first few hours when you have no guns and no slabs.
i played deathloop from day 1 and i never experienced lag or anything u said in the video, I remember that one day bethesda servers was down but that happened for a couples of hours and this thing happen on a lot of games not only into one specific game
I never found Arkane games to be that buggy at all. Even Redfall day 1 ran OK, and that's the worst game they've made. Only issue I had with Deathloop is that online was very laggy for the invader, even by p2p standards.
Great review! This game was my personal GOTY for 2021. I'd say the game deserves it's "10/10" scores even if it has cerrtain problems in it. To me 10/10 doesn't mean "Perfect/Masterpiece" it just means I had an amazing time playing it and everything about the game clicked with me (this doesn't happen a lot to me). The characters are super fleshed out unlike the Dishonred games and every VA nails their lines to perfection. The level design is also more sandboxy in how you navigate through it (again unlike Dishonored) which makes movement feel so non-restrictive. For the full DEATHLOOP experience I'd suggest any player to turn on the invasions. Without invasions the game isn't DEATHLOOP to me. In the clockwork island where at one point you know every path, enemy placement and environmental hazard, Julianna remains the only threat till the end. Her tactics and loadout always change as no two player will play the same which always keeps you on your toes. If you don't like the invasions then you'll probably never have played what DEATHLOOP was supposed to be and come out with an incomplete experience (IMO). If I write more I'd probably turn it into a 10 minute review as well so I'll stop here 😁. I can talk about any Arkane game for hours and this is not even my favorite game from them but, this is the one I can talk the most about when compared to all of them. Also! Use your eyes people!
Love the unique 1960s type feel and as lack luster as the AI is, it is still good fun giving them the run around and luring them into dumb one at a time deaths. It's not perfect, it's not long, but it's fun and interesting, well worth the £10 I paid for it recently
Haven't played the game, and you keep referencing Dishonored, but the interiors of the game positively scream Prey, many of the rooms in this video wouldn't look out of place at all in that game. Might pick this up.
Invasions are pretty much dead, and have been for almost a year now. It's a pity because it's a fun concept in this game, especially with the invasions making a lot of sense in the lore.

It was a 5/10 for me, loved the setting and voice acting, and the random Juliana fights! the premise just fell short overall. The AI was too stupid.. Solution to everything was shooting, no stealth needed as the consequences of being spotted was just an easy gunfight.

I agreed with everything you said until the end… The dishonored games are not known as the greatest games or even close to some of the greatest of all time. Personally, the combat was nailed down very nicely, but some of the objectives were tedious… That’s a personal opinion, but I definitely know it doesn’t come close to being one of the greatest that’s for sure

I recently got a ps5 as well and just a word of advice, both Returnal and Deathloop are on the game catalog for Playstation plus premium subcribers, honestly I think it might be available in the middle teir subscription but I just purchased premium for a month to try it out and I downloaded Returnal yesterday and Deathloop this morning plus tons of other games honestly it's not a bad service I would say its on par with Microsoft game pass maybe the premium isnt worth it, all you get is ps one classics and streaming I only noticed that after I bought premium but oh well lol honestly I think Playstation plus extra is where its at.
I had this game in my games library from whenever it was on sale, and finally got around to playing it recently. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The system requirements were a bit rough for my pc, and I can easily run cyberpunk and basically any game so far, so it surprised me when there was this Video-ram requirement that I could just barely (not quite) meet with my gpu. Or at least that's what I think was causing the crashes, but I was able to still enjoy the game, because it didn't crash except perhaps once every 2-3 hours, and I think lowering the game's visual settings helped, but who knows. But anyway, the writing really does it for me, as well as the time travel shenanigans. It's a good recipe for fun... gaining knowledge over the events and taking out targets, it scratches some kind of optimization itch. It's like when you replay a game to perfect it, only this time the game encourages that, it's part of the design of it. Though since time doesn't really "pass", it's also able to be played leisurely. Like you can just hide when seen and wait till things calm down, even when there's a Julianna, lol. Patience as a tactical advantage is rarely explored in a fast paced FPS style game. As Juliana, it's also pretty fun, except for the very common lag / latency issue. Since the colt player's pc is acting as the server for both players, a good connection is not at all guaranteed, and for me it was only maybe 20% of the time that that connection was good enough to enjoy. Other times I would rubber-band back to the same spot, a sitting duck until found. So there is something that isn't done well there... please let me be paired up with someone who I can actually have a ping with. I'm sure the game could do this while match-making to eliminate bad connections and eliminate this frustration.

The "time loop" is an idea in a science fiction scenario that truly feels like a Christopher Nolan movie, with dialog written by Quentin Tarantino. There is as much action as there is discovery of mystery of the island known as Blackreef. I understand that some people don't like it and it's defiantly not for everyone. It starts off slow, and most people want the instant gratification of Shooting a "moFo" in the face as soon as they hit the "start button." But this game is more like a movie or maybe a novel. At first, you have to get through the build up chapters before you get to the action. Although it's a first person Shooter, this isn't "Call of Duty." You have to use your brain, and video games were designed for us to turn our brain off for a bit.

Lost City, 12 Minutes, The Sexy Brutale, Gods Will Be Watching, and of course Mooncrash and pretty much every roguelike that uses timeloop as a lore explanation for it's gameplay. There's also a lot of games that have some kind of time mechanic like Prince of Persia. Like it's a good game but nothing about it is groundbreaking.
I bought this game at launch and uninstalled it after killing the first visionary. Game was getting dull. I tried it out again about a month ago and promised myself I'd finish it this time. After beating it I'd give it a 7.5/10 overall. Definitely not as bad as I remembered it being

As a very casual gamer, I found it too difficult and tedious. I started progressing through the game using stealth, and it works, but it is very time consuming and slow. I know the developers intend for you to run and gun and have fast paced action in mind, but I just kept getting wasted constantly..I gave up out of frustration. There are too many options for holding and switching weapons, it can be difficult to hit targets, and there is a gigantic learning curve to learning how to survive and play well with a run and gun style. There are maps and times of day where I literally started and in less than one minute would get wasted by the eternals if I tried to take them head on. A game better suited for hardcore gamers than casual players.
An easy 8/10. Only thing is that the ammo is really too limited, i like to go it loud and you are really quickly out of ammo. Just used a trainer to have unlimited Ammo so i focus on enemies, story and the rest, this "unlimited ammo" was a game changer for me in terms of fun.
There's a lot of ammo but it depends a lot on what build you use. For example you can't get nails from vending machines and if you use dual wield then you'll spend ammo twice as fast. But if you use 3 different bullet calibers then you'll have loads of ammo. Problem is it doesn't let u carry a lot of 1 ammo type.
It's like $10 on humble bundle atm. Redfall is around $15... And Starfield is around $40. Funny how the last two were $70 at launch and already "cheap" less than a year later.
It's a good game but not 10/10 not even close lol. Makes me wonder if this wasn't exclusive to PS on the console side what it would have scored as a multiple console release.
So far I'll give the rating a 7/10 just because the AI is SO. DAMN. AWFUL. You can't ever be sneaky in this game without the having eyes in the back in their head. I'm not the type of person to good out gun blazing, I like to be little strategic with what I do in my playthrough. But deathloop this extreme habit of focusng you to go ALL out over some nonsense or noisy ass AI that decide to grow eyes in the back of their head or able to see you miles away. It was truly frustrating since the game has stealth perks, but the game just does not let you get your prefer playstyle. The game can be confusing at times, not enough puzzle hints and the controls were kinda weird on keyboard and mouse. I think its alot easier on console. I haven't gone through the story 100%, but I can tell its really good and I even like how every character has their quirks and personality. Each of them have their flaws and moments based on who you want to kill. I TRULY love the aesthetic of blackreef, I'm all in for anything retro futuristic of the 60s and 70s, similar to we happy few. The spitting image of WHF was EVERYWHERE, even for the enemies. If you ever play WHF you'll notice the similarities. The game in my opinion just gets 7/10, but if it changes my mind when I finish it, I'll give it a 8/10. If not, then I wont edit this comment which meaning my opinion hasn't changed.
A game I really wanted to enjoy. But I have a short attention span and if a game cant grip me in the first 2 hours, then it probably wont entertain me even if the rest of the game is good. And I finished death stranding, but this game really bored me. The amount of reading needed to get the whole experience and the horrible gun jamming discouraged me to pick it up. That and the terrible UX
One of the 'bosses' just standing there and doing nothing while you blasted his face point blank really did make this a must miss game for me. A shame.
3/10 for me. Clunky animations, extremely repetitive and boring game masked under the whole “time loop” dynamics. Dialogues are just cheesy, only nice thing was the weapon feel and variety. For the rest boring, generic and repetitive game and I will never understand all the hype about it

I've been able to boost invasions with my friends by setting it to friends only in the settings.

No this mechanic was not new at all, it was new to you, Arkane Studios had had actually done it with a DLC prior.

It’s good. Like an 8-9/10. Neck beard jerks are just being entitled babies for a perfect game.
Just here to say it crashed on the intro mission, losing my progress and turning me off the game (at least for now)

Have you had any issues with freezing screens? Has that issue been fixed? Any bug problems?
@@Prettyboyred336 I have had the game crash maybe 2x total in about 300hrs or so. Not enough for me to complain about
One of the 'bosses' just standing there and doing nothing while you blasted his face point blank really did make this a must miss game for me. A shame.

Finished it the other day. It's good but nowhere near 10/10 good. I'd give it a 7/10, but that's normal scale and not "5/10 is ultra bad" scale.

No. Trash. This game ain’t a masterpiece
3/10 for me. Clunky animations, extremely repetitive and boring game masked under the whole “time loop” dynamics. Dialogues are just cheesy, only nice thing was the weapon feel and variety. For the rest boring, generic and repetitive game and I will never understand all the hype about it
