This is my first time going all out with it in a main video, (though I probably could've done better), so I was expecting more backlash. So true! Hunt is honestly the best shooter of the last decade. Although it still has issues since its Beta days, the game is truly a unique and unforgettable experience. I've got over 1500 hours played from the last 3 years, and only recently have I felt tired of playing it, only returning during events or when new weapons and gear get released.

Well, color me stoked: a Deathloop video on RUclips that actually isn’t only an hammering on the flaws for the sake of saying “it doesn’t deserve the 10/10!1!!!”, but an actual video that finally explain what actually made the game at least good; i really wish to see similiar video more often.
Well it not be perfect at all but considering those who are developing it, is refreshing to see that for once it isn’t another story driven cinematic game to receive some praise; quite honest, despite the presence of Metroid Dread, i really hope Deathloop win the Goty (or at least best art and/or music) because Arkane Studios really deserve way more praise.
every deathloop video i've seen is just basically complaining about the ai. I really rarely see people talking about ai in games but all of a sudden everyone cares about it in the case of deathloop, very weird.

There are many reason why the game get so much hate: aside from the pc port and the ai (which especially the latter are immediately fixed, despite people complain is “too hard now”, f***ing whiners) a lot of the criticism aimed to things like going against the game press because “no game deserve perfect score especially this” to simply racism; so basically, hating for the sake of hating, because quite frankly, the game is really, really good.
This was one of my favorite multiplayer experiences of all time and I 100% agree with everything you said. Helping you with the footage was no problem and I'm glad you were able to make such a good video out of it.
It's a glitch that's caused by turning off anti aliasing. Unfortunately, if you play with DLSS, there's no way to *enable* anti aliasing. Really hoping it gets patched soon because yeah, it's way harder than it needs to be
I’ve just past 150 hours of playtime in deathloop and am still having tons of fun with it. I actually prefer playing as colt because having to engage in pve while occasionally battling Juliana is very engaging and fun. Plus, having 3 lives means I feel free to experiment and play creatively. Cheers to making a well narrated video that explains why this game is easily my GOTY as well!

everytime i look at tthis game i think, “this has all the appeal of rouge-likes but flipped on its head”, all of the replay value and unpredictability comes from an enemy player, the map stays the same but can be affected by the enemy, and rather than using universal systems to overcome a randomly generated problem, you have to beat a constantly changing, fully intelligent and sometimes very logical being
It's kinda funny that you drop this video when I just repurchased and redownloaded dishonored 2. And when I get the money I'm gonna buy deathloop, I love everything about it, I've been thinking about getting and playing Arkanes prey as well for the first time.

I bought this game yesterday, you've really sold me on it. You totally get what makes a game incredible, most reviewers just totally don't get it at all.
I once had a Julianna who used Karnesis to hold me up in the air. However, she ran underneath me, allowing me to trigger the drop assassination animation. It didn't kill her, but it got me re-oriented back on the ground and gave me enough of an advantage to unload enough shells to kill her I got 100% achievements the other day and yet I am struggling to put the game down

Like many have commented, I'm really glad this isn't another video trash-talking this game. The danger of being given a 10/10 when it isn't is that many reviewers will talk about how it isn't a 10/10, instead of talking about what's good about it. This game is refreshing in so many ways. In a time where many games being released are unfinished like BF 2042, or unbearably boring like CoD Vanguard, games that are both original and mostly functional like Psychonauts 2 and Deathloop are a rare sight. Making a good james bond-esque game is very difficult. The mechanics, lore, soundtrack, world, and visuals need to be stunning in their own right, but they need to complement each other really well to create a cohesive theme. What Arkane did here was really amazing. Visually, everything you experience from the colorway, moody lighting, 60's decor, to the architecture is just oozing with atmosphere. The interior design is the most impressive I've seen. It's the only time I felt obligated to find the right terminology to describe something. Based on what I've read, it looks like a mix of 60's modernism and bauhaus ( I may be wrong). The interior design is as beautiful as the architecture of CP2077; each section of the world has their own distinctive style, yet still follows a cohesive art direction. The soundtrack grounds you in the world and story, it builds tension during conflict, and celebrates the assassination of each visionary. The gunplay was really satisfying for me, as it allows you to take down any npc quickly and stealthily. This probably isn't for everyone, but I like how I can headshot any npc with the silent LIMP, or quick-scoping with the explosive rapier. This game makes me feel like an absolute god compared to the NPCs, which is what I like to experience. Like many reviewers have stated, the game is too expensive for what it offers. We're only dealing with one loop, and while this means infinite replayability, it does get boring after a while. While this wouldn't have been an issue if the PvP was a lot more polished, I don't think the PvP will catch on. For most players it feels like something you'll try out while playing the story, not something to regularly come back to after finishing the story (especially not with these connection issues).
I think my favorite kill while invading was using Nexus on a very machete-happy Colt. Ran right up to an Eternalist, started chopping away, and ended up killing himself for what happened to be his second life. I had since been doing that any time I see a Colt that wanted to get a few melee kills in, waiting for my time to cast it.

Dang I didn't know what this game was about and just figured I'd check it out eventually. More like asap. It looks like fun and the game looks like it has tons of style. Also that music is super cool.
You say no 2 invasions have played out for you, and honestly I can't say the same. I do stealth runs and such and I have predetermined routes that optimize speed and stealth, and because I know EXACTLY what I'm doing I'm often far ahead of a Julianna. Like in Karls Bay, set up Frank's death and kill Harriet in around a 2 minutes, sometimes faster, with no enemies spotting me or letting off a noise. This often prompts Julianna to rush in and look, of which I am already hacking their Jammer. They come either come looking and I assassinate them because I'm on the rooftops, or they bolt for my tunnels and I'm following them from above or I go around their route. You're right that knowledge is the key to winning, but when you have won dozens of matches in a row because you just know so much more, have a plan and can kill multiple targets in the span of 10 seconds, it becomes boring. Some Juliannas onlyt typically get me because their lag makes it so that even if I kill them they still eat my last life a full 3 seconds after. (No, they used the machete not the bleed gun, I just straight up died after she was dead for 3 seconds) I'm glad you think this game is a masterpiece, i just think it's really good. A solid 7/10 from me.
The way you described one of your games, the narrative of what as going on in your head, had me so sucked in and wanting to hear more of your little hunting stories. Ok I didn't realize that this game had the pvp mechanic. And holy crap does it look fun. This instantly reminds me of how invading in dark souls/demon souls works. You go into a level and based upon what enemies are killed you start getting on the trail of the person. This is much more involved and forces there to be times where someone gets the jump on you though, because in souls games if you are at all experienced getting invaded just means make a bee-line for the start of the zone to either meet the invader half way or get all the way back to the start of the zone so death has no consequences and you can just focus on the duel.
I just picked it up for 12 bucks (humble bundle subscription's have of the month). I would have been happy to pay full price for this absolute gem. I have not loved playing a game so much in a long time. The setting, the dialogue, the characters, the gunplay, the art style, it is all fantastic. Sure, it isn't perfect. And my not too shabby PCs having a little bit of trouble on the higher settings. I do wish it was better in that regard. But I have not thoroughly enjoyed a game so much in a long time.

In a time where many games being released are unfinished like BF 2042, or unbearably boring like CoD Vanguard, games that are both original and mostly functional like Psychonauts 2 and Deathloop are a rare sight.
Making a good james bond-esque game is very difficult. The mechanics, lore, soundtrack, world, and visuals need to be stunning in their own right, but they need to complement each other really well to create a cohesive theme. What Arkane did here was really amazing. Visually, everything you experience from the colorway, moody lighting, 60's decor, to the architecture is just oozing with atmosphere. The interior design is the most impressive I've seen. It's the only time I felt obligated to find the right terminology to describe something. Based on what I've read, it looks like a mix of 60's modernism and bauhaus ( I may be wrong). The interior design is as beautiful as the architecture of CP2077; each section of the world has their own distinctive style, yet still follows a cohesive art direction.
The soundtrack grounds you in the world and story, it builds tension during conflict, and celebrates the assassination of each visionary. The gunplay was really satisfying for me, as it allows you to take down any npc quickly and stealthily. This probably isn't for everyone, but I like how I can headshot any npc with the silent LIMP, or quick-scoping with the explosive rapier. This game makes me feel like an absolute god compared to the NPCs, which is what I like to experience.
Like many reviewers have stated, the game is too expensive for what it offers. We're only dealing with one loop, and while this means infinite replayability, it does get boring after a while. While this wouldn't have been an issue if the PvP was a lot more polished, I don't think the PvP will catch on. For most players it feels like something you'll try out while playing the story, not something to regularly come back to after finishing the story (especially not with these connection issues).
I think my favorite kill while invading was using Nexus on a very machete-happy Colt.
Ran right up to an Eternalist, started chopping away, and ended up killing himself for what happened to be his second life. I had since been doing that any time I see a Colt that wanted to get a few melee kills in, waiting for my time to cast it.

You say no 2 invasions have played out for you, and honestly I can't say the same. I do stealth runs and such and I have predetermined routes that optimize speed and stealth, and because I know EXACTLY what I'm doing I'm often far ahead of a Julianna. Like in Karls Bay, set up Frank's death and kill Harriet in around a 2 minutes, sometimes faster, with no enemies spotting me or letting off a noise. This often prompts Julianna to rush in and look, of which I am already hacking their Jammer. They come either come looking and I assassinate them because I'm on the rooftops, or they bolt for my tunnels and I'm following them from above or I go around their route.
You're right that knowledge is the key to winning, but when you have won dozens of matches in a row because you just know so much more, have a plan and can kill multiple targets in the span of 10 seconds, it becomes boring. Some Juliannas onlyt typically get me because their lag makes it so that even if I kill them they still eat my last life a full 3 seconds after. (No, they used the machete not the bleed gun, I just straight up died after she was dead for 3 seconds)
I'm glad you think this game is a masterpiece, i just think it's really good. A solid 7/10 from me.

Ok I didn't realize that this game had the pvp mechanic. And holy crap does it look fun. This instantly reminds me of how invading in dark souls/demon souls works. You go into a level and based upon what enemies are killed you start getting on the trail of the person. This is much more involved and forces there to be times where someone gets the jump on you though, because in souls games if you are at all experienced getting invaded just means make a bee-line for the start of the zone to either meet the invader half way or get all the way back to the start of the zone so death has no consequences and you can just focus on the duel.
I remember a guy on twitter that said Arkane can't make good games. Glad to prove him wrong.
Even the worst Arkane game is always more unique and fun than a lot of acclaimed masterpieces

I just picked it up for 12 bucks (humble bundle subscription's have of the month). I would have been happy to pay full price for this absolute gem. I have not loved playing a game so much in a long time. The setting, the dialogue, the characters, the gunplay, the art style, it is all fantastic. Sure, it isn't perfect. And my not too shabby PCs having a little bit of trouble on the higher settings. I do wish it was better in that regard. But I have not thoroughly enjoyed a game so much in a long time.
