Chandler and Joey are Kyle and Overton. Phobee is combination of the Max with the goofiest of Sinclair. Monica and Ross are relatives - brother and sister. Kadijah and Sinclair are relatives - cousins.Monica and Rachel are best friends living together. Regina and Kadijah are best friends since childhood living together while Max is Kadijah's best friend since college. Ross had a longtime crush on Rachel. Overton had a longtime crush on Sinclair. Living Single was the edgier, better show and the blueprint for Friends. The only differences are Friends was all white with three females and three males while Living Single was four females and two males. Friends hung out on a couch at a coffee house while Living Single mostly hung out at Kadijah, Regina, and Sinclair's apartment in the living room and kitchen. Both shows were owned by the same network. White/ Jewish people have been stealing concepts from black people for centuries and claiming it as their own going all the way back to the Greeks and Romans claiming discoveries the Eygptians discovered thousands of years before. They use black shows for ratings and once they create a white copycat show to replace it they cancel the black show regardless of how good the ratings are even if the show is number one in the ratings. Living Single was a staple show which could have lasted ten seasons. Four seasons strong with consistent great writing. The weakest season was the rushed fifth season which was cut in half and Kyle was fired from the show while Regina left the show. Friends banned together and got pay raises. Living Single banned together and were mistreated with Kyle getting fired and Regina choosing to leave the show. I'm really glad the actor who played Kyle agreed to come back to give the fans closure with the romance of Max and Kyle and it was strange that Regina was not in the final episode. It would have been so great to see her reaction when Max finds out she impregrenated herself with Kyle's baby.

Kyle and Max journey to love and parenthood would have be cool to see. But we all know when it comes to FOX they love to cancel a successful black tv show and still do to this day. The final season i'll keep it real was booty without Kyle and the random new characters and the overall lack of quality compared to the first four seasons BUT this was a really good series wrap up for all six characters paying off all of their storylines over 5 seasons. Shows like Living Single, Martin, Sanford and Son, Roc, The Cosby Show, The Steve Harvey Show, Fresh Prince, The Jeffersons etc. are so missed this day and age because no sitcoms made for black people have this level of comedy, writing, acting and overall quality anymore.

This was a HELL of a lot funnier than Friends ever was. Even with their best episodes. This was also HELL a lot more relatable to most people no matter the color of skin of the cast
96-99 it was so many cancellations of black shows. Martin, Living Single, Fresh Prince, The Wayans Bros, Sister Sister, Parenthood Family Matters etc. It definitely was an end of an era and positive representation of black culture.
It looked like the ending they were gonna leave the door open for their return and then it got canceled. But looking back this show was called living single. So I get why they didn't give it another season. The characters weren't single anymore. Overton and synclaire got married, Kyle and Max ended up together and having a baby and kadijah and scooter ended up together and regine got engaged to someone. Clearly the show wasn't living single anymore. As much as I love this show I see why they canceled it. Ain't no storyline to tell. They all weren't single no more. SO that's why to me I enjoy season 1 thru 3 the most. Season one will always be my fave. The whole them being single and the chase between Overton and synclaire and Kyle and Max and regine trying to find a man and kadijah and her relationship with scooter. It was all the were they or weren't they. Early seasons are the best.

Anyone know whether or not Let's Stay Together ended with a stinger? A stinger is an extra scene that plays out over the closing credits. I remember that Living Single made some pretty good and funny stingers, but they're cut out of Living Single's reruns on most channels and the credits instead run in a corner of the screen at the end of the main episode.

My wife and I were living in Brooklyn (Flatbush) in the middle 80's when we got married, this show always reminded me of our time there. We watched The Cosby Show and Miami Vice religiously. Before 9/11...NYC was the best.

96-99 it was so many cancellations of black shows. Martin, Living Single, Fresh Prince, The Wayans Bros, Sister Sister, Parenthood Family Matters etc. It definitely was an end of an era and positive representation of black culture.

It looked like the ending they were gonna leave the door open for their return and then it got canceled. But looking back this show was called living single. So I get why they didn't give it another season. The characters weren't single anymore. Overton and synclaire got married, Kyle and Max ended up together and having a baby and kadijah and scooter ended up together and regine got engaged to someone. Clearly the show wasn't living single anymore. As much as I love this show I see why they canceled it. Ain't no storyline to tell. They all weren't single no more. SO that's why to me I enjoy season 1 thru 3 the most. Season one will always be my fave. The whole them being single and the chase between Overton and synclaire and Kyle and Max and regine trying to find a man and kadijah and her relationship with scooter. It was all the were they or weren't they. Early seasons are the best.

A stinger is an extra scene that plays out over the closing credits. I remember that Living Single made some pretty good and funny stingers, but they're cut out of Living Single's reruns on most channels and the credits instead run in a corner of the screen at the end of the main episode.
